Sorry I’m a bit late to the party here. It always stuck out to me how many people on MN had cleaners, not that there’s anything wrong with that if you can afford one, but they were constantly accusing them of stealing, it was awful! The final straw for me was when someone posted saying a brand new bottle of pink gin had suddenly become half empty and it HAD to be the cleaner, not her teenage son or husband who she later disclosed had previously been an alcoholic
People from a working class background are as a rule the most kind and generous and give you the shirt off their back. Back in my barmaid days I would get tipped every drink off working class men/women, then your high day and holiday middle class customer would order a ton of drinks, talk to you like you’re a moron, not say please or thank you and not leave any tip!
