Anybody need further evidence that Mumsnet is a stealth pro-ANA site?
Pro-ana for the over 35’s, for sure.

All these women desperate to reach 8 stone. I’m the same height and even 8.5 stone is perfectly slim. The idea of taking yourself to Slimming World with a BMI of 21 🙄

The thing is, these women all live their lives desperate to be just a few pounds lighter because they know they’ll be happier then… except they never are.

And also apparently at 35 it’s now or never. Er, no it isn’t. I’ve got lovely eggs thank you even though in Mumsnet terms I might as well book in for HRT at the grand old age of 36.
Anybody over the age of 27 who struggles with their mood, joint pain and swelling, children, school mums, work, general twats or their spouses is told it's perimenopause.

I could have sworn that women have been fighting for decades not to have all less than sparkly, shiny, happy tra-la-la emotions written off as 'it's your hormones, dear'. The shitshow that ensues as soon as somebody uses the word Hysteria forgets that blaming everything on perimenopause is saying exactly the same.

And if it's a MIL aged over 45 not agreeing to look after the kids for free or has forgotten to perform some other act of service in worship of the most recently working womb owner, it's got to be dementia.

Oh yes, and if somebody in the their late 30s is considering having another child, it's an absolute disaster and way too late - get to 42 and they're told they should have a termination as the kid is bound to be disabled.

I used to be a regular user of Mumsnet until I saw the light and joined Tattle.
They are all just stuck up cunts and think their shit doesn’t stink. I much prefer it here where you can have a laugh and a decent discussion without being shut down and it genuinely feels like everyone is welcome here, unlike on there where if you’re not white, female, middle class, then you might as well be dead. 😡

There’s currently a thread about whether watching soaps is working class. Apparently it is because middle class people only listen to the Archers

Threads like this get on my tits. Why do they always need to consult MN whenever they do something? You don’t need ‘tips’ for going to fucking Alton Towers, its a theme park with rides. A bit of Googling will tell you all you need to know. They think MN is some kind of oracle about anything you need to know about everything.
Just for fun I’d love to reply to Something like that with the following:

DON’T go on any rides - the staff frown upon that

Buy as much junk as you can from the gift shops, it will all be worth millions someday

Don’t drive there, walk. You can have a nice family chat on the way. If you get blisters, you can always rest in the hotel when you get there (you don’t need to book - just find a room you like and settle in, even if someone’s belongings are already in there)

There’s a thread just gone up in chat - no replies yet. And it’s so crazy I can’t tell if it’s a joke or typical mumsnetters mumsnetting 😂

It’s called something like ‘product launch’ and the person says she invented a kids plate with a fan to cool the food down so parents no longer have to blow on the food causing them to hyperventilate… has anyone ever hyperventilated from blowing on their food 😂

I think the eating threads is a bit like the money threads, people projecting their wishes.

Anytime someone says they have a lettuce for lunch i just imagine a reallyyyyy fat person who probably eats everything in sight and they are just projecting their own wishes on how they would be eating.
Oh yes absolutely. I think a solid 90% of mumsnetters are fantasists which is why I just can't look away.

 How dare the neighbour use his own toilet and have "a nerdy little arm!" He could at LEAST have the courtesy to develop some muscles before opening that window!

The pee plot thickens: "The OP has now been in touch to say that they've been identified in real life so we're going to remove the thread entirely." ... ... ... How?! Were they raging and ranting about hubby's pee and then someone went "Is that the person from the Mumsnet thread?"

I agree but any site is going to have unpleasant posters and weird comments, but I think we have fewer and to me the difference lies in context. Unless the influencer, blogger, celeb or whoever is self-obsessed and googles their own name to find the thread they wouldn't know what we write and at that point it's their own fault. They want us talking about them after all, and they'd hardly be upset if what we wrote was flattering. The criticism is based on the fact we do not fawn over them, often shining a light on any discrepancies and hypocrisy they'd prefer hidden. Hence the hysterical 'bullying' claims. They know it's bollocks.

As for members, Tattlers on the whole ignore opinions they don't like and we definitely don't fight like they do. Whenever I've felt a comment of mine was either disagreed with or misinterpreted instead of arguing back forth I just let it stand and let the thread move on and get back to topic. I witness others doing this all the time, Mumsnetters rarely do this. They'll even regroup in new threads to 'continue the conversation' when in reality they wish to rant within an echo chamber. Yet we're the 'toxic Tattle' 🤨

So many of them don’t seem to be able to take responsibility or reflect on their own behaviour. You see it on the relationships board. A marriage breaks down and it’s always the mans fault, when chances are both are at fault in some way.

‘I hate pizza. I’d rather starve’ is such a Mumsnet thing to say though 😂
I honestly have to question the sanity of someone who says they hate pizza. It’s such a delicious yet completely non offensive collection of ingredients. That’s a friend filter for me for sure

Disagreed that any criticism of Meghan Markle and Harry was racist. Also took piss out of said couple, quite a lot. "Not in the spirit, not the site for you" they said. They're probably right :ROFLMAO:
Well I got banned for speculating about celebrity affairs, Never know what they mean by "not in the spirit of the site" considering most users rip the shit out of each other in most threads, particularly in AIBU and the passive aggressiveness is off the scale in the rest of them. Tattlers are much more friendly and supportive of each other and they reserve their venom for where it is actually deserved

There was a post recently in AIBU with a mumsnetter losing it because her husband had eaten HER tin of tomato soup, when there were three chicken soups (HIS) in the cupboard and he doesn't even like tomato soup!
I couldn't be bothered to read further but of course she'd been ill, was 38 weeks pregnant blah blah, the usual.
I just thought how bizarre that you would post such a traumatic I mean trivial experience for people to be on your side. No doubt the DH was labelled as passive agressive, a sociopath or narcissist for the crime. 🙄

There isn’t any good on Mumsnet though. That’s the thing. I’ve never seen a pile on here, or the sneering that goes on towards people on a lower income to them. Nor the competitive under eating.
I like the feminism section, I’ve actually learnt a lot and been made to think about some things I previously hadn’t. I’m grateful for that.

Yeah and as for perimenopausal, are you perimenstrual before you start your periods? No of course not!
Perimenopausal is a thing though. It's exactly how Drs describe it. It's when your periods start to become irregular because your ovaries start producing fewer hormones.

It's not a term invented by Mumsnet

Surely everything in moderation? My 5 year old daughter in y1 would love that pizza day but she also knows what a vegetable is, it's not one or the other. She eats all sorts. Miserable joyless cow, I feel sorry for her kid (if it's even real).

Bored and unable to sleep. Reading one of those “what stories do you have about your child embarrassing you” threads. There was a lot of “my DD couldn’t pronounce L’s so she’d point whenever she saw a clock and loudly shout COCK” types and kids just being their usual selves “why is that lady big?” “Why does that man have brown skin?” Etc etc. One poster comes along and calls the children racist and fatphobic. Keep in mind the average age of the children on the thread is THREE.
