Mumsnet is hardly an amorphous mass. Do you identify with all Tattlers and believe you all have exactly the same beliefs and tastes? I've been on Mumsnet for years and like it. It all depends which threads you go on. The Harry & Meghan ones are pretty nasty on here so I avoid them.

No, but Tattle is generally a much friendlier place. People respect others opinions without a pile on. There’s also no obvious hierarchy of posters here, everyone is equal.

I've tried to join Mumsnet a few times but keep getting banned as a perviously banned poster, this happened the first time after about 30 minutes when I hadn't ever posted a word on the site. I've given up now as its full of lunatics anyway.

This has happened to me to. The first time I was banned from there it was for telling a woman in the relationships forum that she was a terrible mother for prioritising her partner over her kids. The partner wasn’t the kids Dad and was mistreating her son whilst being highly inappropriate with her teenage daughter. After about ten pages of posters treating her with kid gloves with the occasional ‘LTB’ thrown in for good measure I lost it and let rip, but I don’t regret it one bit. I’m sure I only said what the rest of them were thinking anyway. For a supposedly feminist website so many of them seem to be unable to live without a partner even if it means prioritising the man over their kids, and it never ceases to amaze me at how many similar threads pop up time and time again.

It's really difficult to get a child into a special needs school, I've got friends who have had to fight to get their child a place in one. Autistic adults are treated badly on Mumsnet too - I think someone called them "unfeeling monsters" and I had to tell my Autistic friend to stop reading the Asperger Support threads because she got so upset and thought that if she got into a relationship, any partner would resent her .

I've seen the way Autistic adults are treated in my line of work by people who remind me of Mumsnetters.

There was a post on there once about a neighbour. The end of this neighbours garden backed onto the end of their back garden and the neighbour built a summerhouse on a raised platform overlooking their garden and they claimed it pushed the summerhouse level with the top of their 6ft fence.

I mean, would someone really build decking 6ft high then stick a summerhouse on, making walking on your decking the same height as the top of neighbours fences?!

I love how she proclaimed they were gorgeous unique mugs and unable to be replaced and it turns out they were from tk max. I reckon someone could have found a replacement for her

I had a mug from Morrisons that was fine bone china and decorated with quirky styles of cats . Loved it , loved drinking out of it because it was thin and I like that in a cup /mug . It was the last one in the shop. Opened the cupboard and it fell out and broke because my husband is a fanny at emptying the dish washer and stacking the shit from it . I said aw f*ck and carried on living my life . The end . These mn people are deranged

Has anyone seen the binge drinking culture thread? The OP makes a lot of valid point about how normalised heavy, problem drinking is in the U.K. and some of the posts are so defensive in response. You can tell they are the ‘Wine O’ Clock’ brigade who need a glass Prosecco to ‘help them wind down’ at the end of the day. I’m probably projecting a bit as I’ve been raised in a family of heavy drinkers and its left me almost teetotal as a result, but it’s like playing a game of spot the pisshead reading that thread and many of the comments are the kind of thing my functioning alcoholic mother would say

I've been enjoying all the recent "my energy bills have gone from £500 to £800 a month, how will I cope?" threads. On further questioning it always turns out OP is running her tumble dryer for three hours a day and ignores all advice to line dry her washing because she likes her towels fluffy.

One poster on one of the 'what are you doing to save energy' threads mentioned that she now washes her towels after every second use rather than daily - the horror!

I live near several local schools, one a secondary and rarely see a child who looks overweight. The majority seem to be on the slim side & some kids are more solid built than others. Talk about causing self esteem issues in the young but I guess the diet industries favour it.

You’re wrong, all the children you see are obese but you’re so used to it they look slim. Or something like that.
