I don’t think a royal family is relevant in this day and age and would rather it all wound down when Liz pops her clogs. However I’ll take the extra day’s paid holiday, thank you.

I don’t believe in God or Jesus either but happily enjoy Xmas and Easter.

Mumsnet has got me terrified of ever moving house! They make it sound like 90% of potential neighbours are stalkers who take against you for no reason, get passive-aggressive about parking and other minor issues, make loads of noise at all hours of the night and pipe weed smoke into your cavity walls!

When the Ukraine war had just started I posted on the war threads that the Russian soldiers would be brutal and would use rape as a weapon of war. The collection of professional 'warologists' on there berated me, calling me a racist and saying there was no way that would happen. Sadly is has happened, as I knew it would, not that I wanted to be right. The war threads on there are so dumb it makes the whole thing 100x more arduous. Let them live in their fantasy land.

I hate it when it’s just long mundane posts about how things are in their family (especially multiple family members) there was a thread a few days ago about cooking broccoli and someone had written ‘We’re a mixed broccoli household. DS will eat it sometimes. DD won’t eat it at all and neither will DD2. DH will eat it if I make him- like who carresss :)

Thread asking for advice about a pasta bake using a jar (😱🤣) of sauce… of course someone has to come on and say that they’ve never used a jar (shock horror) of sauce. Ok, so perhaps this isn’t the thread for you then and no need to comment?!
Mumsnet should hand out gold stars to members who cook from scratch, never use jars, breast feed for 5 years, have a hundred grand in the bank, don’t use loo brushes, wear Boden …could go on for days, but they’d love it 🤣

The general tone is sneery. I’m guessing the people on there wouldn’t say boo to a goose in real life. I imagine many of them have inadequate lives so the mission to bring down strangers online cheers them up.

Why do they do this? On a gently amusing (lighthearted as they would say) thread about feeling old. Any amusing thread has to bitch plopped on.
Fucking hell.

I remember another poster who’d lost a child in awful circumstances. She’s start fights and then, to stop people arguing back, she’d say that her child was dead. It was clearly a trauma thing, just needing to throw it out there over and over.

There is a thread on there at the moment about Logan the little boy murdered by his mum and her partner. So many of them are getting very defensive whenever anyone criticises women who can’t be on their own, introduce new men into their children’s lives too quickly and subsequently put the new partners needs first. One of them actually said ‘Am I supposed to be alone forever?!’ Well no and no one has actually said that either, just pointed out that’s it’s better to get to know someone first and gradually introduce them to their children before moving them in. You can just tell they are those needy women who can’t be alone and put their need for a shag above everything else, and then a few months down the line will be posting in relationships about how it’s all gone tits up and the kids and partner don’t get along,

Someone has suggested a ‘middle class only’ thread. Don’t want the plebs commenting
Ive never wanted to create an account on Mumsnet, I’m a happy lurker. But seeing this. I’ve never wanted to create an account more and tell this person what an utter stuck up cunt they are.

Will I get banned on there for saying cunt?:ROFLMAO:

I read that and didn't really understand it - what was her problem.

Another one tonight - has anybody ever taken the shelves out of the fridge, I have because I can't reach. ..... Why didn't she just get some steps.
The thing that really confused me is how taking the salad drawer out of her fridge means she can now reach her fridge?! Is she turning the salad drawer upside down and standing on it? Cos I took the salad drawer out of my fridge and I’m the exact same height I was before…

I think the eating threads is a bit like the money threads, people projecting their wishes.

Anytime someone says they have a lettuce for lunch i just imagine a reallyyyyy fat person who probably eats everything in sight and they are just projecting their own wishes on how they would be eating.
I think some are lying through their teeth about only eating a single lettuce leaf every 2 weeks and feeling full.
But some of them are the nasty types we have all met who are miserable in their own body so have to tear everyone else down to make themselves feel better.

Personally I'm not a great fan of drag, especially when they turn to bitching about women. However each to their own etc, and I think there has been an incident with a (or more?) drag act visiting a primary school. I don't think that's appropriate.

Did anyone see the post ‘how many friends do you have?’

It took about 6 posts for someone to say they ‘have none and don’t need the drama’

They always act like it’s so morally superior (not sure why or how!) to be friendless

I'm enjoying the thread on there at the minute where the OP is asking but her wealthy friend is taking her on an all expenses paid holiday for the friends birthday. OP is too skint to afford a gift and is asking if it would be OK to not give one despite the free holiday. Cue loads of helpful suggestions for gifts that "only" cost £25-30-Jo Malone candles, nice silk scarves, champagne, Dior eye colour pallate, pick up an antique from a charity shop etc. Someone actually asked what the obsession was with scarves 🤣 they're were some nice ideas like a photo book or something personalised off Etsy but all ignored the fact that the OP was skint.

I suspect it was all a wind up anyway as the OP had a bit of a name change fail halfway through!
I’m going to look for that one! I enjoyed the thread in chat about which Tiffany necklace the op should buy her daughter for her 16th. Highlights include maybe she hates Tiffany/silver (because op who has known her 16 years would have no clue what her daughter wants obviously), no wonder kids these days are entitled and (my personal favourite) don’t buy her a necklace, instead put the money into a pension for her.

The Tattle threads tend to be more lighthearted and entertaining and no-one deliberately stomps over to threads to mock, sneer, put down others and to take over whole threads until they become echo chambers. Threads about the Radfords, Katie Price, Mrs Hinch etc tend to be taken down on Mumsnet pretty sharpish whereas we discuss them all on here.

Plus Tattle has an edit button and the site is a lot easier to use. The last time I used Mumsnet, there was a Waitrose advert covering the background and it made my eyes go weird and triggered a migraine.

It’s Doomsday on their Ukraine/Russia thread today.
Mumsnetters have taken Flightradar24 as their new “thing” and seem to be using it to predict the next steps in the war! Leading others to ask if they are about to die.. genuinely can’t make this stuff up. Why do they do it to themselves?
