The majority of them are liars, they want to seem like such great parents and posh. So when they’re faffing on about feeding their kids the best of the best and feeding them tiny portions yet their children are all tall, toned and sporty. Just assume they’re talking out of their arse.

All of my brothers are over 6’2, and my mam and dad would have to buy 3 chickens if they were doing a roast cause they ate so much growing up.

they’re liars and love to make themselves look better than they actually are.

Mumsnet poster: I love my husband and we have a great relationship. Things are great otherwise but it does annoy me that he doesn't pull his weight around the house. He leaves his wet towels on the bed and socks on the floor. AIBU to be annoyed? Again, I love him and our relationship is otherwise great

All Mumsnet posters: no you are not being unreasonable. Get out now while you can. It starts with socks on the floor and it'll end up with him cheating on you and leaving you for his secretary. He'll leave you penniless. Heed our warnings and turf him & his wet towels out this very second. Don't put up with this complete lack of respect for a second longer!

The above is parody of course but IMO it's a pretty accurate representation of Mumsnet posters
sorry op but you are doing the ‘pick me dance’ and this won’t end well. Do you have ANY self esteem.

Look out for love bombing too and signs of secret McDonald’s.

Fuck me, Christmas on mumsnet sounds fucking dickensian!

Right, we spend a fair whack on ours because .... they get it once, being kids.
We're low earning family, but we save for it.
We don't drink, smoke, have much luxury but we make holidays nice, we give them as much magic as we can.
Not for the gram, not to be a show off but because they are lovely kids, even if I say it myself.
They actually enjoy opening their gifts and playing.
We make sure they don't brag in school etc and I'm saying this like I'm spending like a loon.
I'm talking a sack of decent gifts, books, toys, games. Not saying brand new consoles and bikes etc, we're not able too, but honestly, if we could, 100% I'd do it 🤣🤣🤣

How can they be triggered by someone spending £150, everything is expensive these days.
Games, consoles, clothes when the kids are older are wildly fucking pricey.

I get being skint, i was a single mum dead young and I'd work full time, then when my son was with his dad I'd do cash in hand bar work to ensure we had something extra for Christmas, or I'd do some cleaning.
I understand I was lucky to have that time free to do that and if his dad wouldn't have had him once a week I'd have only had wages, but then you make some sacrifices.
Trolls, I swear at one point in my life I had £8 a week for food and it was shite, I made sure Xmas was an occasion. And we didn't go without, we just didn't have as much.
I don't get how with a child you can say, "I have the money" but not buy them fuck all besides a spinning top and yoyo.
The mums at the school yard would all talk about where had bargains, who was selling/giving stuff away or what charity shops had decent stuff in. Sell pages were full of people wanting to make space for their kids new stuff and were often very generous. Maybe because my area is poor? I live on the Wirral on a council estate. But even the pure skint homes, we chipped in and helped. I would recycle my lads Xmas pjs every year for my neighbours lad, if her lad would have been bigger than mine, she'd have handed down to me. It's just common sense?
I feel sick reading some of the comments imagining poor cosmo and prudence waking up 6 am to mother plucking the goose only to be given a card explaining santa is investing in bitcoin and they should be grateful for their new oral b toothbrush heads.

I do appreciate I've worked tho and I'm not bashing anyone who can't afford things. 🥺

Hi, just found this thread.

I joined MN when I had my first in 2017 and loved it. But over time it just got pointless. Every thread a repeat, or you get invested only for it to be deleted because its a troll, or the op doesn't want to continue, or its "not in the spirit".

I also found that eventually I felt there was no point in posting, if you don't post in the same way as everyone else then you get jumped on.

The constant blue badge Vs mother and baby spaces did my head in . Only on MN have I heard people believe that mother and baby spaces are for people with disabilities that can't get a blue badge, so mother's shouldn't use them or be annoyed when clearly healthy people are using them. I had a blue badge and a baby so always got drawn in but there is no point in engaging unless you agree with that nonsense.

I'm also a step mum so got interested in the stepmum threads. It's some other kinda mental over there, I got called evil and a wicked step mum because I couldn't see anything wrong with not taking the step child on holiday. Apparently if you can't afford to go in term time with step child, then you're not allowed to go. Even though I go on holiday without my own children!

As time went on I posted less and less, then at a really dark time in my life I posted a really personal problem asking for help and was reported for being a troll, and banned. With no email no message nothing, just banned for asking for help for my real problem that I couldn't talk to people in real life for.

So it's pretty much a pointless site IMHO and just the same delusional nutters posting on threads made up by mn staff and trolls.

There was a thread the other day where the OP was annoyed at people wearing their work lanyards in the supermarket

This is peak Mumsnet! Water and milk. Water and milk. The only acceptable drinks for under 18s 🤣
Like the ones who claim their 18 year old only ever drink fizzy drinks when they go out for food. Those same 18 year old are probably smoking weed and all sorts behind their backs

There was a really weird thing on MN when I first joined about birthdays. People would post saying they were upset their families hadn’t remembered their birthday or they’d only got a card from their husband and no gift and the replies would be trying to outdo themselves with how much they didn’t care about their own birthday.

‘It’s just a birthday. Who cares? Wouldn’t bother me if no one remembered’

‘DH and the kids never get me a birthday present let alone a card. In fact, they want a present each on my birthday and I’m happy to oblige even though they don’t get me anything’

‘I haven’t celebrated my birthday in so long, I’ve forgotten how old I am. It’s just another day’

MN seems to think it’s a cut above all the other chat sites out there, but the reality is they’re all fucking insane.

Mumsnet has so much stuff that we just wouldn't let happen on tattle. And tattle is supposed to be the worst website on the internet whereas Mumsnet sells themselves to their many sponsors as a friendly supportive community that helps parents 😐. The only thing they ban there is something that might affect their profits. Still wondering what those 100 staff members do? Thanks to tax payers furlough for saving their website based jobs when web traffic was at an all time high 🤦‍♀️

Some of them have quite weird ideas around food - only allowed cereal and toast once a week. Ham sandwiches once a week. The craziest was chocolates were only allowed at Christmas.

And of course their children don't like takeaways or McDonald's and prefer Mummy's picnics over it. In RL, I'm yet to meet a child who doesn't like McDonald's.

The ice cream one seemed a bit miserable too.

Thinking about the roast, my brother cooked me one last week, the chicken lasted one meal 🤣🤣 because we kept picking bits off it.

I got a comment in the DM once on a topless sunbathing thread.

It's annoynous so who gives a shit if it's in the paper. And if it's "outing" don't put it on an internet forum, or change the details a bit.
It's all the outing hobbies their husbands do that will absolutely reveal their identity that get me.

I mean the massively outing hobby is usually cycling, golf or football, but for some reason they think its unique to their husband.

Theyve never had a really unique hobby like collecting and preserving dead ladybirds.

They also don't want to reveal their careers as they often claim to be the only person in the UK doing that work and it would also out them 🤣

It’s the DH, DD, DS acronyms I can’t stand. Why did it start? Is it too difficult to type husband, daughter, son?
I remember a thread where a poster said that she and her husband were going away to their holiday home for a long weekend. DS who was 17 refused to come and she wondered if it was fair to leave him alone to look after her DD. It went on and on and somebody asked how old DD was. 6 apparently. Lots of posters saying that it was unfair to expect a 17 year old lad to mind his little sister for a long weekend.

Only then did it transpire that it wasn't her 'Darling Daughter', but her 'Darling DOG'!

They waffle on about clothes, yet in the threads where they post their outfits they all look like a psychotic break in Bon Marche.

They all slag off Tattle over there, but in my experience it’s much nicer and friendlier here. People are far more accepting of other opinions and just rub along and agree to disagree. I’ve never seen a mumsnet style pile on here for example. Most of them are like playground bullies/mean girls.

They always have stressful jobs and are in charge of ‘a team’ and working ‘on a project’ in a ‘niche industry’ or they all travel for business. Does anyone ever just work in Poundland!?

Kills me how they always say “log it with the police”. Yes, the police would be really interested in knowing that Fred in the corner shop tutted at you, when they haven’t got the facilities to respond to actual crimes.

They all have ‘seriously hot husbands’ too. Depends what your idea of seriously hot is.
These ppl think that centre parcs is the pinnacle of luxury & good taste tho so cannot be trusted. Their husbands are spending their screen time writing motivational sob stories on LinkedIn and yearning for the toxic office culture of yesteryear cos they want to bully a slightly less senior sales team member in person.

I’ve never met anyone in real life that behaves the way a lot of their posters do, they must be hiding in plain sight

They take up a lot of headteachers’ time, demanding to speak to them over every minor issue, and 111/999 as they’re constantly calling them over parking disputes 🤣
