Then they will get orders cancelled & be in complete uproar about it I remember about 10 years ago Argos cocked up the price on a really ugly reclining chair, they all went nuts for it. Then Argos realised their error about selling an armchair for 0.50p & cancelled all the orders.

There was one recently with Curry’s messing up the price of a Dell laptop for £99 and lots of posters queued up to announce they’d bought them as Christmas presents for their children as it was such a bargain. Some buying 2-3 of the things.

Of course Curry’s did cancel orders and posters argued about it (blaming the more realistic posters) posted sad faces and saying that they were refunded.

Yes, the double standards are dreadful. When a man has an affair, he’s every name under the sun! Women will often be told not to be too hard on themselves, they’ve made a mistake, it’s because theyve felt lonely in their marriage…not every poster says it, but I’ve seen it a lot

Either that or what they call an ‘exit affair’ - a means of getting out of an unhappy marriage, funny how it’s not like that when the man does it though isn’t it? People who are happy in their marriages or relationships don’t have affairs!

Naturally the posters who are being more realistic about it are being told they’re jealous, got sour grapes because they missed out on a fab bargain and posters smugly patting themselves on the back because they think they got such a good bargain.

You always see posters who work in the NHS refer to themselves as a ‘Health Care Professionals’ or ‘HCP’. So you’re a doctor or a nurse then? I’ve literally never heard anyone used that term in real life and I know a lot of nurses, it’s so pretentious

Agree referring to yourself as a HCP is a bit weird cos you’d just say your specialism, but I’ve been in hospital a fair bit and I always say HCP as a catch all cos I know there’s SO many different specialities and training levels within them that it feels more respectful than potentially getting it wrong, I hope no one would think I was either pretentious or snobby as a patient

Me and my hubby read that and were crying with laughter, and thought it was really funny he'd done it. They really do go out of their way to be joyless indignant old busibodies don't they?!?

There’s currently a thread running on there about M&S Cafe now serving a macaroni cheese toastie with a side of chips and how disgustingly unhealthy this is because its ‘carbs, carbs and more carbs’, they then go onto say it’s no wonder there’s an obesity crisis, like people don’t have free will and shouldn’t be allowed an unhealthy treat once in a while. Whoever said on the previous thread that MN is effectively a pro Anna site isn’t far wrong.

There's a real mob mentality . When anyone wants to question anything that doesn't fit their narrative everyone piles on and insults them.

They are told they are morons and selfish etc

On the subject of vaccine passports one poster asked about what would be reasonable to restrict for the unvaccinated.

The response was that they would ban them from all walks of life, fine them every day they refused to comply. They are in favour of the army rounding them up and forcibly injecting them

This isn't just one extreme person , the majority there will agree and shout down anyone who questions them

I'm wondering how many are trolls because their opinions are just so unhinged.

The annoying thing about the DH DS etc thing is when there's more than one word it could be so they have to add more letters... DSis, DSIL, DDog. Surely it's easier just to type the word!

It's all the outing hobbies their husbands do that will absolutely reveal their identity that get me.

I mean the massively outing hobby is usually cycling, golf or football, but for some reason they think its unique to their husband.

Theyve never had a really unique hobby like collecting and preserving dead ladybirds.

They also don't want to reveal their careers as they often claim to be the only person in the UK doing that work and it would also out them

I was going to say the same thing. The hobbies are always too secret - like cycling is outing. In many cases it’s hard to comment without knowing the hobby.

I don't post on mumsnet any more but I do read it for entertainment purposes. When I did post I found that I ended up moderating my posts to be the most bland, inoffensive ever because they would literally jump on every little thing that you said.
