Do you think they say marketing as that's what the woman does in Motherland?

I was on one a while ago and they got onto the squash is the devils piss thing. One woman kept screaming read the back you'll never give it to your kids again.

I read the back and can't see the problem.
Didn't you realise if your child has squash they'll be toothless by the time they're 10? 😏

Haha that’s true, the site is a full house of waving red flags. I think they must be so unhappy in real life that they pour over other peoples relationships and obsess over break ups.

Over the last few weeks there have been lots of thinly veiled snooty threads about having to slum it whilst holidaying in the UK. One woman started a thread genuinely stating that people who snore shouldn’t be allowed to go camping because she’d been disturbed by someone in the next tent snoring and there was one whinging about another family who’d dared to drive back to their tent ‘late at night‘ with their lights on ’waking everyone up’ (maybe they’d have preferred these other people to have done so without the lights on potentially driving into other tents and killing and maiming people?🤔) They then had the audacity to sit out their tents and chat at the ungodly hour of 10.30pm whilst they were on holiday. There were so many comments about how campsites in France are much better because everything is more spaced out and you don’t get as much noise, but for so many people in the U.K. who can’t afford to holiday in exotic location or even on a campite in France this is the only holiday they get and seeing these stuck up hags belittling it really annoyed me!
There’s one on there now asking AIBU to book another holiday after our other disappointing holiday. Mentioning countries they might go to because the previous one was just soo stressful… more like “look at me I can afford two holidays in the height of a pandemic” 🙄

Did anyone see the AIBU this week about the “wheelie bin princesses” 😂😂 a woman moaning about watching the husbands bring the wheelie bins in rather than the women 🙄 thinking she was a lot better because she bought her own bin in. Referring to things as “pink jobs” and “blue jobs” pfft. The responses on it were great to be fair but so pathetic.

I found mumsnet when I became pregnant which I suspect a lot of women do! I quickly left after so much judgement and jumping on women for being “too anxious” in their pregnancies, and don’t get me started on whenever someone posts about bottle feeding 🤣 I frequently visit the pregnancy advice threads here and they have been nothing but supporting and useful!

I read these comments and wonder how they'd feel knowing my reality is just eat once a week and I only clean the house dancing to biggie. 🤣😌

Does anyone remember the thread about the person who found a safe in her loft. Pages and pages it went on. Poster never came back 😑

I don't want kids and people always assume I hate kids because of that (I don't), I always say if you want to hear from people who hate kid, get on mumsnet! They either hate their own, their step kids, their neices and nephews, their kids friends, other kids at the school, just random kids or all of the above.

And in real life I don't know anyone who hates their mother in law, the closest is a woman who doesn't like her mother in law but has a good relationship with her for the sake of her husband and kids. Mumsnetters seem to live in a roy chubby brown joke when it comes to mils.
I always thought it was men who were supposed to hate their mother in laws till I read Aibu. Same with men as well, they really hate men.

Anyone read the post where the OP got her dog dna tested and it’s come back as 20something% pit bull. She’s getting replies that she should put her lovely puppy down.
It said its got 1% dalmatian in it 😂
I don't believe anyone saying put the dog down would do it themselves.

"AIBU: DH has said he wants to join his friends and play football once a week at the leisure centre"

"OP I am furious for you! How dare he have a couple of hours with his mates and spend maybe £10 of precious family money on himself? Get your ducks in a row and LTB"

"OP is it really football? Sounds to me like he's having an affair. Get to your mums house right away"

"What right does he have to do this? Doesn't he know that anything other than work time must be family time? Does he not want to spend all his time with you?"

"Be careful. He may meet some new friends with working class names such as Dave or Trev. Some of them may even be (shock horror) tradesmen"
I think she needs to call Woman’s Aid immediately about that one.

I lived in London for a while and I think I was also surrounded by mumsnetters. So skinny with a uniform of a blue and white stripe joules top and skinny jeans with converse. Huge CD or Chanel sunglasses. None of those fugly boots like earlier in the thread though 😂 they must save those for the night out! Would chaste everything but do it themselves on the sly. Like must walk the school run to save the environment when they actually drove and just parked on a side street to make it look as though they walked. Or never fast food but would get overly embarrassed when you’d see them in MacDonalds for the second time that week and they can’t use the “after dance class treat” excuse again. Well hello I’m here because I can’t be fucked to cook 👋
so hypocritical it’s amusing! Miss them! Australian mums just don’t seem to have that class ranking so schoolruns here are boring compared to England! Makes me want to move back tbh!

Possibly controversial so I’m sorry if I offend anyone but I’m absolutely staggered by how many times I see “LTB”. I know some people will absolutely leave a relationship if they feel a line has been crossed and they have every single right to do so but sometimes couples try to work things out first especially if they have children and they should be completely supported in their choice if both parties are capable of moving on and living a good life together. I know couples who have a had things happen in their relationship that would definitely get a LTB on MN but they’ve really worked at their relationship and made it work. Obviously this doesn’t work in every scenario but life is very rarely black and white.
Some advice consists of Get Rid. And that’s it. No empathy or practical advice, just two words that are not even original anymore. Why bother posting.

Has anyone seen the thread about playgrounds being biased towards boys. Apparently councils should put things like fairy houses ‘and ares for dancing and imaginative play’ in parks to make things more equal. I’ve never read such guff in all my life. Firstly you don’t need any special equipment for imaginative play or dance, if you’ve got a good imagination you can do it anywhere. I used to make up dance routines on the local park with my friends with no problems. Secondly this kind of attitude just reinforces gender stereotypes, I was a tomboy child who was always dirty and would have loathed the idea of a fucking fairy house!

Also @ElectileDysfunction I work with ASD/LD children and it’s just a myth that it makes them naughty. You have to make reasonable adjustments for them but they are perfectly capable of learning boundaries and good behaviour. That being said parents of children with additional needs are some of the most entitled I’ve ever met so I’m unsurprised by that attitude over there. In their minds the world really does revolve around them and their child’s needs. Newsflash, it doesn’t!

Not one single person I’ve seen so far looks smart or remotely well dressed. But I forget that slobbing around in cardigans is a virtue for the Mumsnet Massive.

It took me into some other threads. So many of the people on there are either bad to the bone or not well.

No one thinks they are panic buying though. Everyone has a reason. Even the tossers filling up multiple jerry cans think they have a good reason.

I saw a woman on MN claim that she needed to fill up because she was going to see relatives that live a long way away. It hasn't occurred to her to stay home and let the people that needed fuel for essential trips have it.

There was one recently with a woman who had claimed tax credits for four months after she’d stopped needing them, to the tune of £6k and it appeared that HMRC had taken the repayment money from her husbands wage (who didn’t know she owed the money). She was a mother of teenagers, didn’t work, and her husband gave her £600 a month from which she paid the dog groomer and Netflix. It also turned out she’d hidden a council tax debt from her husband as well.
The amount of posters rushing on to tell her that HE was financially abusive left me like 😮. If it had been the other way round, he would have been called a cocklodger and they’d all be telling her to LTB.
That’s truly mortifying for the husband as the employer will have to be informed that he’s not repaying the money he owes so they’ve had to put this charge in! If my husband did that I would go absolutely ballistic and move job out of the shame of it all tbh.

Also another story that doesn’t really add up - surely if you’re eligible for tax credits (and especially £1.5k a month?!!) you’re low income so how would you be getting an “allowance”? And is it really an allowance if you’re having to pay household bills out of it lol, some prestige domestic accounting methods over on MN 👀

ETA - btw hoping the tax credits statement isn’t offensive, genuinely don’t know what they are/are for tbh?
