I can't get over a current post about winter coats and posters coolly replying they spend hundreds on a goose parka or whatever. And another poster basically saying how disgusting it is that other people shop in Primark buying crap that will fall apart in a year and it's bad for the environment or whatever. Err, not everyone has a fucking choice. I certainly can't afford to drop hundreds on a coat, and there are tonnes of people worse off than me.
I have a few coats, my favourite is 7 years old and cost 35 quid. Why do some people think cheap clothes fall apart? 🤔 My clothes and shoes are a mixture of prices and none of them 'fall apart'.

I think a lot of people lie online firstly, but also people adjust the truth upwards to reflect where they think they should sit in other people’s social hierarchies if that makes sense? Like IRL they may deem themselves queen bee of their small village / town / borough, but to assert themselves as that online they have to extend the truth. Hence why there are so many apparent HNWIs on that site giving measley pocket money out.

Also ngl most high paying jobs outside of medicine & law are in tech, not sales or marketing like they all claim lol.
Do you think they say marketing as that's what the woman does in Motherland?

I was on one a while ago and they got onto the squash is the devils piss thing. One woman kept screaming read the back you'll never give it to your kids again.

I read the back and can't see the problem.

Does anyone remember a poster called le queen? I never paid much attention to her, but I vaguely remember her posts. She seemed quite well off and used to go on about grammar schools a lot!

no idea if she was a fantasist or not, but a lot of the posters on mumsnet really had it in for her.- trying to out her and her family. I still see her name crop up on there occasionally.

What’s with them all pretending they can’t read? Someone will write a perfectly coherent post/thread and you’ll get the dickheads come out.

Op: my dog died.
Dickhead: sorry, I don’t understand. What does that mean?
Op: my dog is dead.
Dickhead: ...
Op: my dog passed away.
Dickhead: oh I see, your dog died. You should really be clearer next time so that people can help you.

So annoying! And totally done on purpose.
I love when people use a phrase that other posters might not use but know perfectly well what it means but they pretend they don't and make themselves look thick.

Eg AIBU to let 9 year old drink coke at a sleepover - but rather than coke they say pop/fizzy juice and get loads of posts asking what pop is.

The same happens with things like roll/barm/bun/cob.

Such martyrs. They bitch and moan about their husbands technique and then just decide to do it themselves. And then complain that they're the only one that does anything. Also, are they really standing over him supervising?!
Literally couldn't care less what method my husband uses to wash the dishes as long as I don't have to do it and I've got Clean plates! I didn't know anyone did it differently to washing up liquid adverts though 😂

There’s one at the moment about charging their adult children housekeeping
It’s always housekeeping threads
I’m fucking skint and can’t afford another adult so yes my adult children when required will pay housekeeping thank you very much and no I won’t be giving it back for deposits on their houses
I’ve been skint I’ve been flush and then skint again
I grew up in a council house and I’m the only one out of my siblings with a mortgage
It’s hard for most at the moment
We get by. We are not wealthy , we have a mortgage but work bloody hard for it .yes I do wish I’d have done better at school instead of being a knob . But it is what it is and I work in a minimum wage job I detest because I have to not because I want to
It’s all not unicorns and rainbows, some have to work to put food on the table and have clean ironed clothes

They’re currently debating whether statement necklaces are back. I mean, were they ever really ‘in’? At least of the type they’re on about. Some nice lady has posted a picture of hers, and it looks like one of those pasta necklaces kids come home with from nursery.
It also looks like all the different veges you'd get in one of those mediterranean vegetable tray bake things you get at the supermarket, hung on a string.

The sneering on the national minimum wage was shocking and disgusting, I bet during lockdown they were quite happy for delivery drivers and Amazon workers to bring them things to their house while they stayed safely at home but they’re so bitter that someone is getting something they’re not.

I think they are liberal lefties until they have to open their purses and then their true self comes out.

I really feel sorry for some of them, they think...
(1) "Are you on GLUE ?" is the hight of comedy, this saying was around in my school years, and an in joke in Alan Partridge.

(2) "Pull your big girl pants up" when somebody is genuinely asking for help in an awful situation. It's awful advice.

(3) "Give your head a wobble" yep Mumsnet please do this because it's one of the worst phases l've ever heard.

(4) Their are some really hatefull posters on your site, many who l think are sockpuppets.

Other than that it's all good 🥴

Lots of new members arriving on the Harry and Meghan thread because MN have banned any discussion of them as "they cant keep things civil" :ROFLMAO:
ETA and banning posters left right and centre

It’s the DH, DD, DS acronyms I can’t stand. Why did it start? Is it too difficult to type husband, daughter, son?

I’ve been using Digital Spy for the last sixteen years or so and they’ve allowed you to edit posts for at least ten of those, completely free of charge I might add. Its laughable that Mumsnet has only just introduced it and expects you to pay for the privileg.
I know, total and utter greed. Especially when it seems they have a bog basic forum and have invested hardly anything. I've never used Digital Spy but Tattle is unlike any other forum I've ever used. Light years ahead of shamsnet

This one is hilarious..most of the replies are saying how immature and childish it is and how would be having serious words with DH if he thought that was amusing... they must all be a barrel of laughs at home.
Someone was like 'I'd be wondering if I ever really knew my husband at all' 😆

Something that annoys me, when someone asks for activities to keep toddler busy, 99% of people always say a walk in the park and then snuggle up ( 🤢 always snuggle up) to watch a movie- not sure what world they live in, but my toddler doesn’t sit through a film! I can barely get her to sit and watch an episode of peppa pig!

I wish these people would cancel themselves and leave the rest of us to crack on. They are complete joy suckers, angry at life and wanting to take their anger out at someone, anyone will do. Or something. They are probably trolling, nobody can be that dim.

People on there can’t be real I’m sure. There’s a thread about a woman who wasn’t sure whether she should give her child cauliflower cheese for dinner (because apparently a crumpet or some crackers are more nutritious 🙄). I mean, how do these people even have children if they have to basically write a thread about whether it’s ok to give their kid dinner?! God help them if they have to make any real decisions!

Some of my Primark stuff is still going unlike a £50 sweater which disintegrated after a couple of wears. I buy stuff from Primark not just because of the price but I love their stuff. I usually wear and use my stuff until it breaks/dies/wears out. They’re so sneering of Primark probably because it doesn’t fit in with their middle class lifestyle.

That’s exactly it, you just know they have so much pent up anger at the world and wouldn’t say shit to anyone, but on MN they give it large and act like they are so assertive and don’t take bullshit.
I don't really pay attention to usernames on the but you just know the same person who will confidently spout out word for word the assertive text that another poster should send their SIL regarding some petty family issue will the next day be asking for advice on what to say to her next door neighbour who's parking 2 wheels on her drive 🙄
