It actually really bleeping annoys me how kids these days need to CONSTANTLY drink water ALL DAY. Like when I was in school we got one drink at lunch and you know what - I didn’t die.

I think I have my bridesmaids dress from a wedding last year somewhere. If I can find it I might post it as a casual Sunday afternoon chill dress. It’s about 5 sizes too big these days tho so I’d have to work around that.
Annoys me too. When I first joined MN there were loads of threads about teachers ‘restricting access’ to water bottles and lots of replies about kids getting UTI’s or literally being taken to hospital if they weren’t within a foot of a water bottle at all times. The thing is, luckily, the body has a mechanism for telling you if you need water so you don’t need to sip it every minute for 24 hours a day and it isn’t that warm in the U.K. that you’ll die of dehydration if you don’t. My kids always came back from school with full water bottles and tbh, if your kid is so thirsty that they’re drinking that much water and can’t do without their water bottle for a couple of hours, then they need to see a doctor (and I’m actually being serious there).
I’m going to borrow a pair of my man’s beige slacks, she’s 5ft 2 and I’m 5ft 8 so I should be able to emulate the Bay City Rollers cropped trousers look albeit in polyester. I shall team them with a thin nylon polo neck jumper in royal blue and a tweed waistcoat that used to be grandpa’s.

Most told her that her budget was too low (750pcm) absolutely implying that she was a sad moron for not having a rich hubby, lol.
I am from the north and would not pay over £800pcm for a flat up there, not on my own income, no way. Anyone single who can afford to pay that is doing well financially in my book!
Is it just me and my MN cynicism or are these people just trying to look loaded and a cut above the rest? Are they lost in a fantasy RightMove bubble? They all told her to live in one particular place (Clitheroe
) which I am presuming is a naaaiiice mummy investment area devoid of any actual life or culture, aka Hyacinth Bucket. THEN they proceeded to tell her you’ll never afford to live in the north west on that poverty budget dontcha know!
I also suspect MN is a spin off of the daily mail these days. Is Justine actually Mr murdoch in a dress?
Any google search seems to link the site to the DM and most posters use it for outside links and news. The two do seem to be inexplicably linked. i reckon most goady posts are started by DM weekend writers. A symbiotic relationship at least.

I was on a training course some years ago, where there were a number of newbies, mostly early twenties, in attendance. Every one of them had a soft drink of some sort with them. I kinda felt left out

saw it creeping in over the years, it’s kind of an accessory, same way you might feel a bit incomplete without your phone next to you. It’s something for you to do with your hands now fags aren’t socially acceptable. Enables fidgeting. Marketing pushes the image of this like ‘cool city girl on the go‘ sorta thing. Also, people use it as a symbol of their identity too, being seen with the right kind of drink…lol.
I do yoga and am always stunned by the excessive marketing on yoga websites for fancy drink ware. like £50 for a trending artisanal cylinder with a PLASTIC top. Who could dare to practice the yogic arts without the right accessories?
Plastic bottle? uurgh, so behind the times.
Paper cup? A little bit dated in my affluent area.
Glass bottle? Why yes! look at my planet friendly sparkling water from the crotch of the Andes, it still has little stones and pieces of mineral grit in it!

That’s so true. You had a drink at lunchtime and that was it. Urggh god and I can still remember the very watered down juice you had as well in those massive metal jugs. I remember going home telling my mum I’d had ‘purple water’ at school that day. It wasn’t. It was very watered down Ribena!

A nice positive thread has quickly descended into few miserable witches attacking everyone for finding positives in a global pandemic in which ‘thousands died’ because it is in ‘very poor taste’ and ‘how dare anyone say they saved money when my DH lost his six figure salary job and I had to take in ironing and a lodger to make ends meet...’
Oh FFS! I literally lost a parent to Covid during the pandemic and I would still say that the slower pace of life and getting to enjoy more time with my little person were lovely aspects of that time.
