Bertie is what, 6 months now? He absolutely shouldn’t be in the nipping stage still. It breaks my heart for Poppy that they’re not doing anything about it. He’s an incredibly boisterous dog and now he’s hitting puberty it’s going to get worse as he’s a bully (he’s obviously not aggressive). It would have been so (so) easy to fix if they’d trained him when he was younger. Doing it in his teenage phase will be a witch.
Poppy was in a pushchair for the morning exercise. She didn’t need a nap; she could have done with a run.
I’m a vet and it is still normal for pups to be nippy at that age as they are still teething for another good few months.witch.
Regardless they should be telling him to stop, not just saying his name in their usual tone.I’m a vet and it is still normal for pups to be nippy at that age as they are still teething for another good few months.
He’s very much still teething hence the nipping. They need to get toys he can chew on like a fallow antler or a hoof etc.Bertie is what, 6 months now? A vet whose only other activity on Tattle was to like a post from someone on another thread asking for more Scottish Beauty vloggers? Did you just trawl the thread looking for posts about Flogger’s nippy pets? Apologies if I’m wrong, but seems strange to meI’m a vet and it is still normal for pups to be nippy at that age as they are still teething for another good few months.
Surely a vet should be encouraging proper training not just saying the dog is still teething? It does actually chew on a hoof...Rebs as she comes down the stairs!! Oooh Bertaay! He’s very much still teething hence the nipping. They need to get toys he can chew on like a fallow antler or a hoof etc.
Vets don’t encourage training. It’s not their remit. I’m shocked she didn’t take him to puppy training classes. But then am I shocked?Surely a vet should be encouraging proper training not just saying the dog is still teething? It does actually chew on a hoof...Rebs as she comes down the stairs!! Oooh Bertaay!

Claims to be a vet but if you read their only other post definitely Is not a vet....A vet whose only other activity on Tattle was to like a post from someone on another thread asking for more Scottish Beauty vloggers? They are still nippy, but we always yelped at our dogs (similar to the Mother dog) and it halts them in their nipping tracks. Every dog breeder/charity worth their weight would tell a new owner this.I’m a vet and it is still normal for pups to be nippy at that age as they are still teething for another good few months.
As parents they shouldn't need anyone to tell them to stop the dog nipping at their kid! Their parental instincts should be immediately telling the dog to stop, but then this is the meldrums we're talking about, not exactly known for their great parenting skills! They are still nippy, but we always yelped at our dogs (similar to the Mother dog) and it halts them in their nipping tracks. My doggy was like this, his teeth were like razors, very painful if he decided to have to nip, but it is something that they grow out of, as long you teach them the right commands and praise them, but she/they will not.I’m a vet and it is still normal for pups to be nippy at that age as they are still teething for another good few months.
You seem to have misquoted me....I don't recall calling her a witch in that post.I’m a vet and it is still normal for pups to be nippy at that age as they are still teething for another good few months.
