it’s likely they’ll either be doing some work in return for living there, or there’ll be a way to ‘hide’ the money ie ISA for kids, cash in hand payment which they then towards bigger items like a car etc. they just need to hide a monthly income from renting the house as they will have to pay tax on that and she is after all the ‘influencer’ who gave away a pitiful signed box of zoflora…

Agreed, absolutely unnecessary to mention it. It's actually quite cruel.

I also think it sounds a very dangerous set up, of course that's only from those few sentences of Slofes. There's nothing like money to break up a family, money does horrible things to people and I hope for everyone's sake and security that they have a solid contract in place for what is required of both tenant and landlord/home lender because it can only end in tears if not.
