I read their post today and the original one (which IIRC MOD commented on) and one thing that struck me is that the Pukkas are always very careful *not* to take a stance. They always ask what people think, with a 'there is no right o r wrong' clause in the end. If people go on the defence they say 'we are just navigating through this' or 'trying to make sense of things as we go along'. Debate I suppose means comments and comments means a better algorithm position. There’s been a deafening silence from the “big name” instamums following MPs post re. sharenting. Anna Whitehouse has posted a v interesting blog on the issue (it was actually first written last year but they’ve been doing the rounds - and doing a good job of it - on various news platforms this week following the Gwynnie story, so have re-posted rather than re-written. Don’t blame them. Nothing’s changed - it’s just got worse!).
Didn’t they used to be good friends with the Hoopers? Surely a bit #awks now, since they’ve taken such a (sensible) stand whilst the MOFODs (particularly him) have gone into “flogging the kids for freebies” over drive? Must make for tricky dinner party chat in the Herringbone kitchen! There again, they are at different ends of the “influencing” scale now - one power couple are serious journalists, who can churn out professional, engaging and well written copy that you actually want to read right to the end (take heed FOD, you tool!!) and the others are a (albeit very successful) advertising platform who have absolutely no shame / ethics about a posting a constant stream of their (clearly staged) family life. Will be interesting to see which approach has the
greatet shelf life. My money’s on the Pukkas...
That is not personalised, they will have a load made up with stones ready to post. That should go back! That’s not personalised. It’s not like it has your name engraved.
Check what the terms and conditions say on the website, was it engraved or personalised? If it’s an off the shelf piece, it should be eligible for a refund, it’s a shame your Mother’s Day gift has been a let down though, sorry to hear that xI can't send for refund as it has my birthstone on it!!
Absolutely agree with this!!! They like to pretend they are generating conversation but really don’t actually say their own thoughts. Which is just a waste of my time. I’ve 2x called Mother Pukka out for continuously and ignornantly aligning herself with different platforms that show absolutely no diversity whether in colour, culture or disabilities etc. So she’s just as ridiculous as the rest of them, just not as ludicrous as MOD and FOD.I read their post today and the original one (which IIRC MOD commented on) and one thing that struck me is that the Pukkas are always very careful *not* to take a stance. The Pukkas and OD's have very different USPs, in the long run the former will still be around as it is her business platform whereas the latter revolves around their children, who will not be able to be shoved into baskets for much longer. I think F OD craves the attention so will try to come up with something to keep that mug on the squares for as long as possible.
Yes, they are always very careful to cover themselves with a lot of "it is every parent's decision to make". Hmm, and who will defend the children then? Still, at least they engage unlike MoD who just goes after anyone who asks anything uncomfortable because she can't /won't put up a defence of her greed and appalling parenting choices. It is going to become increasingly difficult for MoD /FoD to defend their actions as more and more people are questioning commercialising children for profit.Absolutely agree with this!!! Agree. All I can think is that they were channelling 'Seventies Romanian Orphanage' for their interiors inspiration?Couldn’t afford more like her fishing didn’t result in free farrow and ball.
The grey walls including skirting with grey floorboards. Just why. It’s like a prison.
Sounds like the star necklace I foolishly bought from Chambers & Beau last year. Cost approx. £65 and was just shite. Not gold plated, not even silver plated, just some random base metal that gave me a rash. It honestly looked like I'd won it at the fair.I got a silver sterling braclet with a birth stone, looked so much better quality on the website! It was a Mother's Day present for my kids to give me - looks like it's from a cracker - they either need to lower the price or ensure much better quality to justify the amount!
Oh yes, because it's not like MOD hasn't mentioned a million times that she's addicted to Pinterest and Instagram for her interiors inspiration, is it?It’s embarrasing. But not as embarrasing as the fools who are falling for it and tagging all the interiors accounts she may not have heard of before.....like Erica Davies
Or The Frugality. Who I think she may have come across before (didn’t they go to school together?).
I just hope that the companies rushing into a deal with these two will understand the disdain so many people are now starting to feel for parents who exploit their children. Possibly not such a savvy business plan after all.She has to move onto phase 2 because the kitchen has gone awol since the CMA rules came out
Off topic but I've often wondered about the quality of chambers & beau, it's all over instagram. I reckon you'd need to choose quite carefully from the range, some of it can look at bit like its out of a cracker. She's always saying on stories about stuff going off to the platers so I'd assumed it was gold plated, maybe not!Sounds like the star necklace I foolishly bought from Chambers & Beau last year. My necklace is seriously flimsy. You hold it in your palm and it just has zero weight to it. I carefully checked it all over and there wasn't a hallmark.Off topic but I've often wondered about the quality of chambers & beau, it's all over instagram. Plated jewellery won’t have a hallmark!!My necklace is seriously flimsy. You hold it in your palm and it just has zero weight to it. I carefully checked it all over and there wasn't a hallmark.
I can't find any info on the C&B website as to what metal she uses. Anyway, this is all totally off topic, back to the MOFOD's...Plated jewellery won’t have a hallmark!!
Definitely recommend always buying genuine gold or silver if you want it to last and not tarnish.
It says sterling silver and yellow gold plate. You wouldn’t get a solid gold necklace for £65. As someone else said, plenty of other lovely bespoke jewellery companies on Etsy.I can't find any info on the C&B website as to what metal she uses.
