Do you know what, that’s absolutely right. If I were MOD I’d want to go and sue the pants off every single person presenting it as fact (not opinion) that I was racist - it’s like you can drag someone for what they did but Don’t go expecting them to apologise for something they are not.

What’s going on now, a 28second video on where hair bands go. I, too, can only conclude he’s testing the waters. He’s missing his usual posts and has ADs to do but can’t be seen to dive straight into one. I honestly don’t think he was privy to any of ‘Alice’ and Saturday’s story was him genuinely P’d off at her, and for her.
Back to what’s going on in the press about her, yes it’s been blown out now and I’m at a loss of where her direction is going to be - totally off Instagram or slowly back? This isn’t quite as crazy as it sounds. The generally accepted definition of racism includes the concepts of systemic prejudice, I.e. things like institutional racism, how discrimination affects people’s lives across the board (career, education, healthcare etc etc) vs just being about someone having a prejudice against someone of another race.

I came to this thread after Clemmies apology, wondering what on earth was going on- wow.
Beeen following for days now and have to say I just feel so sad about the whole situation.
When I was 8 month pregnant my partner left me and I was devastated. It has been just my beautiful daughter and me since then, and I’m not saying this for pity- but in my darkest times at the beginning when I was the only of my friends with a baby and I felt so alone. I looked to people like MOD on insta as inspiration things would get better, I totally believed in her.
I just feel so deceived and disappointed by all of this? And she’s a midwife- someone you should be able to trust? It’s sad. I feel for her she must have some serious pain in her life

I think he (his management) have paid to have this post boosted, likely in the US (lots of mentions of "bobby pins" ), guaranteeing loads of comments and engagement - all paid for (I work for an ad agency and we do social media marketing). He is an absolute brazen, self serving tosser. The fact he's done this in the middle of this shitstorm shows who he really is....an sneaky, selfish prat who is ADDICTED to Instagram adoration. I think you're right. I just checked and it's got 14,000 likes already, his last video has 3,000.

I think we can all agree that the video is shite so it can't be genuine appreciation. The likes are other bought or the fangirls are out in force (or maybe both)

A Lib Dem candidate has resigned (forced to) and an investigation is underway for racist tweets he made in 2009/2010. This isn’t a witch hunt, it isn’t just happening to Clemmie. This is a way of trying to stamp out racism and casual racism. So many people on here have said what Clemmie said wasn’t racist but I’m sure some people think it was. Same with meldrum. I imagine it might be argued that what this Lib Dem said is far, far worse than what Clemmie said but is that the point? Comments cant be judged on a curve or a scale - they’re either racist or they’re not.

I feel I can’t judge whether it’s a racist comment or not because it’s not my place to judge that. I’m white. I loathe the phrase ‘playing the race card’, which I have only ever seen or heard used by prejudiced people. I have a lovely friend who is black and who has cried on me in frustration at constantly being called aggressive just for being assertive at work. I’ve seen POC call it racist. I’ve also seen POC say they don’t find it racist. I’ve seen far worse overt racism go unchallenged and unchecked. I have zero knowledge of CB and her personality and posting.

I don’t know who does get to be the arbiter of all this but so far as the NMC go, I suspect the fact that there is even a question mark over it won’t play well.
