Why would she make a reel out of filming a meme on her computer?? Why not just repost the meme on her stories??? Is this what passes as content nowadays????
We wouldn’t be able to see the smug face in the dirty mirror on top of the unmade bed AS SHE CONGRATULATES HERSELF FOR NOT CATCHING COVID. She never had covid now according to herself -she did an antigen test which as far as I know were not widely available early 2020. And even if she did one you can be sure she did it wrong because she’s a blundering idiot. More lies. More tit. Just another Melanie Monday.

Melanie and Thomas ran to the media outlet DublinLive about how they were forced to live in an attic due to the pandemic. The piece was also used as a soapbox for Thomas to whine about losing his wings and being in dept. This sparked outrage in the Facebook comments of the article. Of the back of this, people with connections in AL came to tattle to share screenshots from the airlingus whatsapp group.

All this can be found from page 8 on thread - Melanie Murphy #10 the erratic, mel-odramatic, fascist in the attic.

* important to note that while they were running to the media about being forced into attic dwelling and the mountains of dept on their shoulders they had -

- bought a new car
- bought an expensive matress
- bought a hair transplant
- saving for a wedding redo.

Attached the photos from airlingus staff whatsapp. But worth going back to thread ten to read the comments screenshot by tattlers. HILARIOUS.

I thought she was editing porn 😂 this woman calls herself a writer y’all!
Same! Took me a minute to realise she was actually talking about the editing of the film.
I tried reading her novel once but couldn't make it through the first chapter because she just phrases her sentences in such a weird way.

I love that Melanie thinks she’s so woke watching this movie and her takeaway is ‘society is stupid’. Girl, you’re the type of person this movie is ridiculing.

I actually really enjoyed this movie and really like Adam Mckay. The irony in Mel loving a movie that makes fun of people like her is priceless though.

Yes! I haven't seen it but friends who have thought it was terrible, and I thought this review was scathing (and thus an entertaining read!) https://www.theguardian.com/film/20...udded-comet-satire-dont-look-up-is-a-disaster
This is OT sorry but I have so many feelings about this film and Melanie's response to it.

Climate change is THE challenge of our generation. Covid has been bad yes, but climate change is going to wreak havoc on all aspects of our life along with loss of biodiversity. The next wars will be wars on securing water, and food supplies will be screwed. The way the government responds to it was really hit on the nose by this film, and the media are going to hate on it because the film really grasps how the media covers climate change now with the fake news programme. Yes, it is on the nose and in your face but it's also so accurate it's painful.

The point of this film isn't that society is stupid, society actually wakes up in this film and pushes for the government to do something, but the ultra rich have interests elsewhere.

What I will not tolerate is a passing comment from fabletics-promoting, fast-fashion-buying, PILOT-wife Melanie talking about how society is stupid. Mel, you are the thing that the film is mocking. You have interests elsewhere! When fabletics was lining your pockets, it was no secret their practices were harmful to the environment (and women), but there you were, you promote things only at interest to yourself and never the viewer. A bleeping calorie counting app for Christ sake, as someone who is supposedly in "ED recovery" you should know how bad they are and yet there you were.

This film is criticising people like you, and it's hilarious you missed that

Same here, although I am vaccinated. I work in a hospital and had dodged it up until Christmas week when I probably got it in Penneys. It’s a luck of the draw at this stage. Helps that she doesn’t leave the house.

It absolutely isn’t. She hasn’t got the gumption or wherewithal to create engaging and witty content the likes of which are on TikTok and are slowly drawing people away from Instagram. Her shite is piss poor these days.
But of course Mel knows best!

I agree with you on the seriousness of climate change. I think the author of the review does too. It’s the way in which the movie makes it’s point which has caused negative reviews as far as I can tell.

Melanie of course doesn’t really get it. But she doesn’t get much does she 😅

I think the movie tried to do something but didn't do it if that makes sense? It reminded me of when I was writing stories for my leaving cert- so much thought went into the first few pages but then I was running out of time so just had to end it quickly. Regardless of its important message, it was a really badly made movie and I fail to see the 'editing porn' good aul Mel is talking about

I thought it was an entertaining movie, but that it did miss the mark of what it was trying to do a bit. But I’d be willing to bet that the reason Mel has thrown out ‘editing porn’ is because jumpy and stylistic editing which breaks the 4th wall is what Adam McKay has become known for after The Big Short (which I haven’t seen, but have seen clips of) and Vice (which I found incredibly dull but did have that style of editing). Compared to those two films, Don’t Look Up didn’t have particularly stand-out editing, bar the dinner scene at the end where there were some jumpy/laggy shots which I did think were interesting and impactful. Apart from that, the only other thing I can think of are the interspersed shots of nature, which again I think were effective.

However, everything else in the film (to my memory) was fairly standard? I do think Melanie is just throwing out something she’s gleaned from reviews of his previous films to make herself sound knowledgeable about filmmaking (which is incredibly common for anyone with a mild interest in behind-the-scenes movie info in this day and age of the internet). I also agree that she has completely missed the point of the message of the film.

I think she doesn’t really have friends, the only ones seem to be those living abroad, those bloggers. Probably easier to be friends with Melanie when you don’t see much of her. But she always talks about imaginary friends she misses socialising with.

She definitely doesn’t like her in laws and they probably don’t like her either. Imagine this celebrity going around in her dressing gown and dirty bras and bossing their son around, dirtying their kitchen and the attic is probably a feared place to be

As a scientist working on climate change, I thought that much of Don't Look Up had an eerily familiar ring to it and was actually hilarious in places, but I did not enjoy the movie very much. But I also did not hate it. I might watch it again at some point; a friend liked it better the second time round. But I also am not Mel. Phew.
