He can buy a 7ct diamond but can't put the heating on in his mansion? Think I know what I'd pick.

That ring is so weird.

If someone's got 'wee' fingers (as he puts it), you don't buy them a grotesquely massive ring. Huge rings are better on people with big hands, it's a proportions thing.

But if he bought her a tiny little ring how could he show off for months afterwards? Smug wick.

I'm guessing it's lab grown. That weird silver band around the stone is awful too. I'm not sure he could've chosen an uglier, less delicate design if he'd have tried. It's odd because he has quite delicate, twiddly, decorative tastes where interiors are concerned and the ring is a clunky mess.

The post and stories are undisclosed ads!
Almost definitely. This guy is always telling us he does things on a shoestring. His house is either big bucks #sponcon (that handmade kitchen!) or painstaking DIY because he can't/won't pay. Paying full price for those 2 rings would be thousands (£5k+ minimum if he's using lab stones, potentially six figures if he's using natural stones). Also, why would he get an AUSTRALIAN jeweller to make them, if there wasnt a large discount in it for him? The time differences for design meetings would be a pain in the a and shipping costs would be huge to get it literally halfway around the world. We have huge numbers of extremely talented jewellery designers here / in Europe which would be able to deliver something unique and personal without the logistical headaches.

There is something really unlikeable I've found in this pair lately.
Firstly, beyond the humble bragging which is tedious, he also somehow always manages to get a tiny dig in. "she is very clumsy, she has short fingers" etc. Minor things but why put them out into the world and he does it a lot.
This ring is basically unwearable. It's so large and flashy so he could show off but how safe will she be in it? So he's bought a back up ring.

He almost sounds put out that the thing he's being most asked about is the ring, not him or his DIY skills. He's making himself look so thin skinned.

She looks smug and like she set out to hook him.

his taste was very different in his previous Reno. Amazingly, it changed to the floral frilly style with freebies ads and sponsorship and the invented persona … fancy that eh?

He is (they are?) so unlikeable these days, you're right. The negging, the twee faux Victorian gentleman persona, the thin skinned picking at negative comments, the bragging & begging, the undisclosed ads.

She did mention that it’s a lab diamond, but I don’t think he has? It seems bizarre that he chose an Australian jeweller. And the fact that he started planning it the best part of a year ago when they only got together in mid 2024 seems very rushed.

Typical man behaviour imo. My sisters ex was with her for years living together but he wouldn't buy a house or marry her. They split up and within two or three years new partner kid moved and engaged.

The ring is definitely gifted/an undisclosed ad. I really doubt for a second that it’s the thing he’s been asked about more than anything in the house/reno etc. Makes sense why he did a whole post (ad) for it. Obviously didn’t want to admit he didn’t even buy his fiancé’s engagement ring himself - so tacky!

Also if he bought it himself how can he in the same week say he’s probably going to have to sell Admirals as he can’t afford it? Make it make sense!

Oh and the ring is bleeping hideous, don’t give up the day job for ring design Greg!

Cot wants the big wedding she’s always dreamt of and there isn’t the budget, eh?

Crowdfunding to the rescue!

Can't afford to put the heating on, but goes on an epic adventure to Sri Lanka and this year can afford a massive, weird eff off ring and a hairy bikers style Vietnam trip.

Oh to be that level of poor...

I'm not saying people don't deserve holidays but he went on a big trip a year or so ago. Now they want to plan a wedding. He gave up his job for influencing and had a book deal (presumably with an advance) I would have prioritised things like the roof with that money and the apartment he wants to use as a rental. He could get a part time job to supplement income if he needed.

He probably can't extend his mortgage after having bought out the ex girlfriend a few years ago.

No, I'm not shaming someone for having a holiday. But if I wasn't working and was renovating a property/money pit, I'd cut my cloth to suit my whatever the next part is!

Then I wouldn't have the gall to tease I might have to sell up to people who maybe haven't had a trip to Sru Lanka, an upcoming trip to Vietnam and a big weird a ring. It seems crass.

He's on the beg for something just not sure what yet.
