I’m sure in the Netflix documentary the cadaver dog ‘evidence’ was rubbished by specialists. Can’t remember why now as it was so long ago I watched it.
I think the Portuguese police made massive mistakes and were very quick to blame K&G.
The evidence about the dogs in that documentary was what convinced me that K&G had nothing to do with her disappearance.
Previous to the documentary I thought it was them 100%. But after the documentary I realised it was the media which had built up my beliefs. I certainly believe that K&G and their friends were the kinds of people who go on a family holiday and leave their children out of what they are doing. They were negligent leaving their children in that apartment and they will have to live with that the rest of their lives. I even believe that they sedated the children to sleep (in the 80s people used to lace their kids bottles with calpol, not that I would ever do anything like that). As much as there is evil in this world I just can’t believe that K&G knew their child had died or had a hand in it and then acted the way they did afterwards. Even accidentally killing her you couldn’t just act so emotionless. And regardless of the group they were with how any of them could keep quiet if they knew anything. I always thought it odd how Kate was so emotionless in the media footage but the person who was advising them after it happened had told her not to get upset during interviews etc as it may prompt whoever had Maddie to hurt/kill her.
There was also something about the doors and windows, certain things it was said that Kate had said and the media reported it incorrectly so made her look suspect.
The way the police went about things wasn’t right either. They immediately blamed K&G and missed other clues and didn’t investigate other factors. The whole police department over there came over as corrupt and negligent also. Not to mention all the other missing children in the area.
I think they are an odd couple, probably not natural loving parents and are selfish but I don’t think they know what has happened to her.
