That is definitely true. But when you look at life in general and in a scrutinising way, risk is everywhere. It just depends what type of parent you are and what’s the risk. Anything can be dangerous it depends what you expose your child to and if you think it is ok. And if it’s against the law. In my opinion the laws in the uk should be changed at least as so many parents get away with neglect
I would find it hard to believe that any parent would judge 2 babies and a toddler mature enough to be left alone .I'm sure they law would see it that wat too.
For us average people anything could be a risk. But for others it wouldn’t be. I suppose that’s why the law is what it is to not allow gray areas. For me this needs to be changed and should have been the moment Maddies case happened at the very least
Regardless of whether it was legally right or wrong, they did it. It doesn’t move the case forward. What happened to her and where is she?
They aren’t mature but the law isn’t clear enough. If they were asleep the law would most probably say they were safe

Absolutely the child deserve a decent resting place however to find her they must hem in on her parents or associates!
She's supposedly helped police close cases off with missing people, she said about the town Madeline was in, but nothing got investigated further. I guess if she said just yes or no, but she's gave quite a descriptive reading. If I was K&G I'd be over in Koln searching high and low. Almost like they didn't explore it because maybe they didn't know someone helped her escape? Hm, who know's honestly.
I agree! I can't believe the law is so unspecific. Should be illegal to leave a child alone at all I say, unless it's a real emergency but I can't even think of any situations that would warrant leaving a child completely alone.
It sits really uncomfortably with me when I think of that cause I remember watching the documentary about Sarah Payne and her mother had let her stay out in the field with her brother for longer and her and husband walked home. She talks at length about how it was a mistake and that she shouldn't have left. I'm not saying she was right or wrong or anything cause it's irrelevant but she is actually torn up with guilt about it as any parent would be. The fact that he claims he didn't do anything wrong is baffling!
Exactly. The reason I posted this before is because people were saying they should have the twins taken for neglect and not allowed to leave them etc. I said the law says otherwise no matter what we think. People are clinging on to they should have the twins taken and in the eyes of the law they did nothing wrong. Regardless of if it was a bad decision or neglect I’d like to focus on where she is
I don’t know if it’s to do with children of a secondary school age but my god why would anyone leave any child the age of around 2 on their own? It’s not right and the parents knew it wasn’t right. But the law says they can’t be prosecuted

With regards to the Psychic, I am very much a none believer- however, having said that - I read the book by Holly Wells’ dad and the part about the psychic in there is astounding. In fact, I recommend some that book MASSIVELY. It’s brilliant.
I highly doubt it. Let's face it they had no reason to believe the kids would have been and by the time it came up it would have been out of their system. I do find it odd that they slept through the whole of the commotion of police in their apartment and people screaming for their sister but some kids are just deep sleepers i guess.
This sounds controversial as many people are against psychics but I know a family who had a reading with the psychic who read for Holly's parents and apparently the psychic was spot on. And no, the person who died wasn't famous at all.

I had 2 children of a similar age when it happened so I was horrified when I heard that they had left them all in a room together out of ear and eye shot.
I’ve read through pretty much all the official documents online, Kate’s book, blogs and watched all the documentaries on the subject and I vacillate between theories but will keep a very open mind until something conclusive is found.
I had always found Gerrys demeanour and statements very disturbing but a poster a while back gave a good rationale for this based on his being a consultant doctor which made a lot of sense.
The only thing I’d like to add is that I found it very strange that they returned the twins to the Mark Warner crèche within a very short space of time - this was mentioned by Kate herself in her book. I know they’re extremely comfortable with outsourcing their childcare responsibilities but that truly shocked me.

Yes that's what I mean they need to keep investigating every lead no matter how small and hopefully get closure some day. They owe it to the child to keep going..
tbf the holiday worker could literally have just mentioned it to someone in passing and not even intentionally told someone the information. That happens with burgularies. Someone mentions how blah blah blah is away for two weeks and burglar sees an opportunity. It could have been as simple as "we've had a complaint from a woman in aparment xyz cause the kid below is crying all the time. turns out parents are in the bar all night and checking on the kids every hour". Someone overhears it and bam there's an opportunity.
Does it say what or who she escaped from?Has anyone else read about the psychic Fia Johansson? Who said she was alive in Germany, Maddie's name has been changed too Melanie & she's living with a couple in their 70's/80's after somebody helped her escape. Apparently living with another female her own age too? I genuinely believe in psychic's myself and think its madness how the Germany link has now been discovered
I’m sure in the Netflix doc it mentioned that they booked the table at the restaurant for the whole week and same time each day and the staff wrote something on the booking like “children not at dinner” or something along those lines and it was just left out so pretty much anyone could have seen it.
