Maybe I should of explained better. I don’t mean they will never be brought to justice because of our own government funding what I do mean that any wrong doing that they have clearly committed for example leaving three children alone for god knows how long they will never be charged for that.

Why would our government not bring not them to justice for that?

But continue to fund would that happen under normal circumstances?
Because that isn't a crime?

I seriously doubt your ability to be able to think objectively and also your suitability to work in children't services. Don't shoot me but you really need to reconsider your thoughts, why would a government fund filicide?

‘Don’t shoot you’

That’s not who I am, it’s good to question each other’s opinions.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before (I haven’t read the whole thread) but has anyone heard about their trip to a bar called Chaplins that was around 2km from the Ocean Club, that the group went to (including G&K) a couple of nights before Madeleine went missing? It was happy hour and a quiz night too. Apparently, a member of staff from Mark Warner found G&K and advised them that Madeleine had been crying for over an hour (it was about 10-11pm) and they need to come back. I think one of them went back. I think it may have been Mrs. Fenn, who lived above the apartment, who alerted a member of staff. Unfortunately, I think she’s passed away now.
Yes! I've read so much on PJ Files, there is statements from everybody at the resort. The more I read the more I'm directed towards K&G. Mrs Fenn's niece Carole also spotted a strange man from the balcony looking into apartment 5C, it's so worth reading her interview with the Leicester police if you haven't already. Think it's so strange, I'm aware there are theories about the Royal Family, I only discovered Carole worked for them too at Windsor.:(

Do you two know each other or something? Stop trying to derail the thread (y)

That neighbour statement goes to show they certainly weren't checking the kids every 20 minutes the night before, did they change their schedule because of the crying or did they aim to go every 20 minutes but got sidetracked? I know after a few drinks I'd definitely lose track of time getting chatting.
& Chablis, I've made the same opinionated views as others have in this thread. Same comments could be made about you 🤷🏼‍♀️

As for the posts about Maddie being abducted as a result of a tip off from the hotel staff, I get why people think that but it's the way the parents have acted through out the whole thing. Especially when being interrogated by police and no evidence of DNA showing up. It all seems more suspect than that.

"The law does not say an age when you can leave a child on their own, but it’s an offence to leave a child alone if it places them at risk."

I don't know if leaving them alone in a hotel in a foreign country would class as 'at risk', but I'd say so personally. I suppose it could be awkward given that it happened in portugal?

I’ve also being in place where police have advised of if children are left alone again unattended they would remove under PPO. But hey

I can't imagine if I left my kids alone to go to a restaurant here and somebody called the police, that there wouldn't at least be SS involved. I've had SS involved due to my mental health, thankfully it's never been negative for me and I had positive experiences (of course it was scary but they meant well) but if I left my kids alone I bet it would've been.

Don't be a dafty, I wasn't saying that. Look at @KateESJ's post above, the law is quite vague about this.

Haven’t heard ‘dafty’ being used in a long time ☺.

But there is a lot of unanswered questions from.

I don’t believe it’s all coincidence the first time they left them and only Maddie was taken. An I guess we’ll never truly know the truth.

I’ve always been suspicious of the parents and I feel like they always look shifty & guilty but perhaps that’s down to the fact that they know they failed their daughter. Who would leave 3 small kids alone in a foreign country? Let alone murderers and paedophiles any amount of things could’ve happened, they could’ve woken from a nightmare and went wandering looking for their parents, they could’ve taken ill, anything!
I’ve seen lots of couples on holidays eating in restaurants at night while their kids slept in buggies. If they really had to go out why couldn’t they have just taken the kids too?
If they worked in Tesco & were out for burgers & beer and not doctors out for tapas and wine they’d have been charged with neglect, that’s a fact.
100% on all that you have said.. any other parents would have been prosecuted but not them pair sadly. This is a disgrace, clearly the child is sadly dead long long ago, why drag this on any longer 😒 the culprits are her parents 😡

Well they don't have any really solid proof that it was anyone. As much I believe they were involved in some way I think they have to explore every avenue and this one with this German guy is definitely worth exploring.

Has anyone else read about the psychic Fia Johansson? Who said she was alive in Germany, Maddie's name has been changed too Melanie & she's living with a couple in their 70's/80's after somebody helped her escape. Apparently living with another female her own age too? I genuinely believe in psychic's myself and think its madness how the Germany link has now been discovered

Never heard that theory. Part of me sincerely hopes she is still alive but it would be a very hard time for her and parents to readjust to eachother.

Don’t shoot me because I wouldn’t do this, but why are people saying they should be charged with neglect or have the twins taken off them? There isn’t a law here that the youngest a child can be left alone (I know as I trawled the govt sites and all relevant stuff when my child was starting secondary school to see if she would be ok to be at home for half an hour before I got in). The law is that there is no age as long as the children aren’t at risk. Yes I know there was allegedly a kidnapping but it’s a grey area with saying they were at risk from an intruder as really, anyone anywhere is at risk of an intruder when being home. They could argue the children were left in a safe environment eg no hazards nearby etc. I spoke to my daughter and she argued with me that they left the door unlocked so therefore it was neglect but I don’t know if they did or didn’t. Is there a law in Portugal to that subject that they would fall under? I *know* that it’s horrifying that they did what they did and still have another 2 children in their care, but if there was a law being broken then the twins would have been taken away. Everyone knows what they did and it wasn’t right, but they have no cause to be prosecuted in the eyes of the law.

I'm sorry but there's no way that 3 toddlers alone are not deemed at risk whether the law says it or not. Risk doesn't just mean intruders, it means fires, emergencies etc as well. My friend in college had a ten year old sister and mum worked two jobs so his sister was home alone from 3.30-6 when my friend got home from college, but she was 10! A 10 year old is capable of understanding what to do in fire, who to phone if there's an emergency, not to answer the door etc and this was in her own home. Not a foreign country that she was unfamiliar with.
The *risk* in question is the fact that they were toddlers incapable of dealing with a situation if it arose.

I think if this were true or anywhere near it would have been investigated fully by now

I think they need to drag it on for as long as possible ,not for them for the child. She deserves a decent resting place !

I agree. Three toddlers are definitely at risk being left alone. When my 4 yo wakes up in the night she comes to find me. What if Maddie or one of the other children had woken up and tried to find their parents? Or tripped and hit their heads? Fallen ill? opened the window and fallen out? Messed with wires and injured themslves? Or played with the blind cords and strangled themselves? Ran a bath and drowned?
There's countless risks!! I don't know how anyone can think there wasn't.

I said this a few posts above.
But it totally depends on all of the specifics.
Plenty of people I’m sure have left their kids alone for various reasons. It’s only a crime if you leave them in a state of risk. At the time it’s reasonable to say Maddie and her siblings weren’t at risk so no actual crime. It’s tit but that’s the law

what would count as at risk though?
