The Truth Behind Why Lydia Millen Is Never Invited To (Any) Fashion Week

I love that she’s done this! Fashion week content is my favourite. It’s so fascinating to see what goes on behind the scenes. It’s a serious business and not glamorous at all.
You see these women getting changed in the back of cars between shows, popping into an event for half an hour just to say hello and take a photo then onto the next. The women are often jet lagged, sleep deprived and get sick. There’s so much planning and co ordination in choosing outfits and having photos taken. Lydia could not survive in such a world.
The other thing I enjoy about fashion week content is the discussion of what’s hit the runways. Colours, cuts, fabrics. It’s not all posing and sipping champagne.
Aimee Song is one of my faves for her fashion week content. She talks to designers & buyers. Gives insight into how to get into the industry. She’s actually worked in fashion and now has her own label. I don’t watch all her content, I don’t even agree with her on lots of things but I respect her work ethic and hustle. That is the difference between grabby Lydia who just grabs at anything free and women who use this opportunity to create something for themselves.
So far Lydia has been a fitness blogger, a luxe blogger, an interior designer and a cat mom. She has done every one of those things poorly. That’s why she’s at home while the real business women are out working.
