I don’t profess to be a wine connoisseur but my husband is. As a result I’m accustomed to having good quality red and white wine both when dinning out and at home. Whilst I know what I like and don’t I wouldn’t say I was an wine expert but can recognise the taste of a good quality wine. Whilst we have bought wine from Waitrose or Bidbendum etc my husband orders wine via a wine club and some of his wines are cellared/stored until he wants to retrieve a crate or two when they are ready to drink depending on vintage. If Lydia is so cultured why isn’t she more knowledgable about it and why doesn’t she have a copy of Larrouse Wine/Gastronomique? Silly me! It’s because she “playing house” as opposed living in her house and learning and making memories of learning. The more I watch her and read about her here the more furious I find myself getting when there are other influencers out there with a smaller following and are simply more down to earth and genuine.
Omg how very aptly put — this is exactly what she is doing. Playing ‘house’. Everything makes sense now. Let’s pretend we have a courtyard. And we have servants. And land. And wine cellars. And an outdoor pizza oven. And pheasants. And Dior. And pets. And children (Ali you’ll do). And friends. And exclusive parties. And also we live in Buckinghamshire.

Some random thoughts on things I have seen on her latest vlogs:
- She has to do her nails herself, and had to order a bunch of things to make her nails. Including a lamp... I mean, why?
- She has to stay at home, and has to order clothes to "stay home"... I mean, why?
- Her in-laws gave her some nice (real) flowers on her birthday. And on the same vlog she said something like she prefer plastic flowers as a gift because they don't die. I mean...

Here is my theory:

Their marriage is in trouble. Ali is posting things about ‘if he had a house to decorate from scratch’ etc as his mind is now considering what life would be like in his own pad without that belittling witch. - Just seems a really odd thing to post when you’re meant to be this united power couple with ‘flawless’ marriage.

This Is also why Lydia has gone crazy on the quotes. We all know people only ever post all this motivational quote tit when they’re upset, trying to prove a point or trying to get attention.

(Sorry if anyone else posted this, I’m just catching up over the weekend!)

A bit like that cloudy bay, mud house wine she drinks. She posted the link from Amazon it was like £20 a bottle on there its only £7 in Asda.
Im guessing it was an affiliate link seeing as it was on Amazon. She can't even say to her minions "Hey found this great affordable wine for 7 pounds and you can pick it up at Asda". She won't give her audience anything for free.

Im wondering if she is still paying Dave and Cawee if they are not in her house working. I cant see it myself.

I also don't know why they have spare rooms. No one comes to visit anyway. Even before lockdown they have barely had anyone come over unless it was a beige faux friend BBQ or a big show off party.

Like someone else said they should have made the house ultra executive modern. I don't like the house but it would have looked more appealing if it was more modern decor. I mean how confusing to see the outside with the modern brick and glass railings and then have a mish mash of period features inside.
Wasn't that sump pump access hatch in the fire escape area she showed, you know, when Ali had to get down there and fix it. Not sure you should cover that with all that stone.

They should just face the fact that they bought a lemon. I mean how bad must it be to have a damp mouldy basement that could flood anytime. Wouldn't it have been nicer to have an office where you can look through a big window over the countryside and gym maybe in a beautiful big conservatory. Rather than looking out into a dank mouldy "courtyard" fire escape.

Ancient Chinese proverb states 'you get the ugly, damp, dark bungalow you deserve in this life'.

I’ve just watched a vid by a doctor who specialises in filler and he says it can stay for at least 10 years in the body. Scans have proved this, it just spreads out and migrates so the client thinks they need more. However the filler is still there just flattened out, so a new top up will eventually make the whole face much fuller over time, hence the pillow face look.

She wrote on her blog NOT to use a particular brand because her peers do?? How low is that, childish and spiteful clearly throwing a strop as they didnt send her freebies. She's a bully 'if you don't sponsor me I'll say mean things'. Its tasteless and not classy.

No amount of fake wooden wall panelling and calling the fire escape a courtyard will ever buy you class.

Wise words from Lydia’s “bestie”
If it was my friend who publicly shared her opinion on (my) filled nose, I would wonder what was going through her mind every time we’ve seen each other before.
It's obvious that Leonie's photo has been tweaked. Her nose is shiny halfway up and then it goes matte and flat looking into her forehead.

I'm surprised she hasn't replaced those with wooden posts like she did inside....
Decorative wrought iron or cast iron railing painted satin black.

Dance monkey, dance! Ha - Lydia mucking about pretending to be working hard after Josie's updates showing her actually digging and planting. Josie's guy gets multiple eyewateringly expensive GOOP accessories for their GORGEOUS, BESPOKE kitchen with HISTORICAL BEAMS and Lydia starts slagging GOOP.

An outdoor kitchen might not be a bad idea for Lydia. Then she can't smell up the house with her intolerance gassy tooting. Then again, why would anyone need to make pasta bake with crisps outdoors in rainy England?

Her pretentiousness and insecurity is the largest part of her personality. Ali is just a dud in every way. I really used to like him before, but the way he allows Lydia to walk all over him is gross. As is how much he coddles her. We should all have partners that make us better people, not partners that in essence encourage us to continue to be weak messes like Lydia is. She doesn't make him a better person at all either. He used to be far fitter, and even his work content recently is lacking.

That fire escape is beyond depressing. She's already said they can't keep the walls out there painted nicely since mold keeps making any paint they throw at it peel. How gross is that? It's fitting really; slothie Millen that never wants to leave home has a Millen Pound Bungalow that is mostly underground and prone to flooding.
You can add a mold retardant to paint to help with the mold problem. All they did was paint over a layer of mold spores. They should have wiped down the walls with bleach before painting. If it were my 'courtyard/fire escape' I would hire a trompe l'oeil artist to paint those walls to look like they are brick like the brick on the outside of the house. Maybe even paint a fake window with a view. Then I would plant hostas. I have almost 800 different varieties of hostas at my house. The hostas with white flowers smell just like orchids. You can get hostas in various heights and colors like blue, yellow, lime green, dark green. I would plant several Empress Wu hostas. They are huge (4 ft tall) and have a very big flower. I would also plant the tiny hostas close to the doors. I have a miniature hosta garden and some have leaves no bigger than the fingernail on your pinkie. Hostas require hardly any work and I only water mine during a drought. After they die back in the fall just rake it up and you are all set for the next year. I would also add a small concrete temple piece to play off the fact that hostas originally came from Asia. If you think you are a hostaholic go to hostalibrary.org for all the hosta info any hostaholic would ever need. Oh damn....now I have the itch to go search for a new hosta. Sunday was the first day that they allowed garden centers to open up during the lockdown.

Lydia has no knowledge about plants, flowers or anything to with gardening whatsoever...despite the fact she reminds us she lives in the countryside. She’s been there what 2 years now and made no effort to learn about plants/gardening and all down to sheer laziness in my opinion. One can google anything these days and learn anything. She wants instant gratification In all aspects of her life.

They could have easily taken one of the bedrooms for Ali’s office - God knows he uses his more than she uses hers. And they don’t get any visitors there anyway, what is the point in several guest rooms then?
I have to say, Ali’s wardrobe/office is the only room that I like over there. The kitchen is nice if you cut out the section where that hideous table and medieval light fixture are.

She’s one of life’s takers and loves herself way too much - no idea why though - she’s nothing special, and her photos of her standing and pouting like bloody zoolander - Blue Steel - well they crack me up 😆

He could have had the room they made into the dining room for his office. Its only a crappy whisky room now anyway. I dont like the kitchen its too pale and bland now everything is white and off white.

Shes never in her office! Waste of a space! Because she’s work shy and wants all the benefits without having to work for it. I think Ali has always had better work ethic and a more creative streak. She’s always telling Ali off when he’s working too, on her vlogs you see her marching up stairs, camera in hand and telling him he shouldn’t be working. Poor thing, ever likely he’s a shadow of his former self and his vlogs are non existent now! She’s so bossy and controlling. She just wants him to hang her gifted tat up for her and sit around eating beige food for the gram.

I think Ali should have the office room, or atleast half it together she's constantly in her dressing room anyway so what difference does it make. But of course Lydia never shares....
