So I think I would like to know what the thing was that made the lens go from ‘she’s involved in all these incidents’ to ‘she’s the reason for all these incidents?’
This is an important distinction. I want to know this too.

It’s suspicious that LL’s notes are missing important info because she has been linked to these babies‘ deaths both by her being there and the statistical probability that she is the common denominator.
I keep viewing it in the context of the facebook searches as well. Like, the way she forgot doing a search for the parents of the baby who died. If she's innocent then her responses to police are really not helping her case!

I spent 3 months in one, no babies died whilst I was there and I kept in touch with a lot of families and they all went home too. There was some very early babies born who went home on oxygen but they are still ok. I could not be more grateful for the care we received even more so now.
I hope there aren’t any parents going through it now treating the nurses with suspicion- the vast majority of nurses in those units I’m sure are there to care for those babies as if they were their own ❤❤❤

So just to clarify, in the timeframe that the case is investigating, no other baby died in the neonatal unit, other than when Lucy was on shift?

I think I need to go back and go over this as it's dawned on me that this could be a massive piece of info I'm missing.
Yes that’s correct.

@I’mThankyou_ really random but did your twins share an incubator or have their own? There was 2 sets of twins when I was there and they shared an incubator and used to cuddle each other (😭🥹) wondering if that was common practice and that she would have had easy access to both twins in one incubator in one go or do they get separated? I think they might have been a bit older and near ready for home when I saw them tho as I think they had just one of those warm cots with no lid over the top.

I hope so too but I think it will always be in the back of your mind, even before this trail (12 months ago)I used to think about it when ever I left the NICU. I guess you can never fully trust what anyone is up to but I believe 99% of nurses are there because they want to and they will be horrified by all of this.

My mum was telling me that my cousin died while in NICU and received a settlement from the hospital due to negligence but this was back in the 2000s.

Weird how temperature obs are missing , you are taught in year 1 of nursing school how take a NEWS2 score. I know it's different assessment for NICU but as babies have trouble regulating their temperature anyway surely it's one of the more important observations to get an accurate score ?

Yes they did😊
twin 2 was very poorly when she was born despite being born at 32 weeks she was in the condition of a baby who was born at 26-27weeks so she was vented for a time but was unstable, on night 3 they put her sister in the inc with her and it steadied her heart rate, but it was only for a few mins, then they needed to be on their own.
Once they graduated from incubators to hot cots they shared and they shared a bed up till they were 11 months old, theyve just turned 13 months🥰 in that time theyve only spent a week away from one another when twin 2 was poorly
Anyway I've gone of tangent, the girls always had the same nurse looking after them but for the first few days of life they both had different nurses as they were on opposite sides of the room.

I think what’s opened my eyes the most is that babies dying isn’t as ‘common’ as I thought in the NICU/ SCBU- I honestly thought there’d be more deaths than what’s been mentioned. I’m obviously glad I was wrong to think it, I was clearly a bit naive to how much fight these little babies have in them
Yes I was the same.

Edit: so in 2015, 8 babies sadly died, and in 2016, 5 babies. So there must have been some she wasn't on shift for.
Remember the case is looking at June 2015 to June 2016 so we don’t know what the total number is for that particular period.
But we do know Lucy has been charged with 5 murders in 2015 and 2 in 2016 so that leaves 3 per year she’s not been charged with. And 3 was a more typical number of deaths looking at the other years.
She was also charged with 1 that was dropped recently so that would have been in the same time period but I don’t know what year. I don’t know if we will ever hear about that one though.

I’m finding it difficult to understand why everyone else is at fault but LL.
The defence is, one way or another, more or less going to be trying to blame others for every accusation.
If her colleagues support her now are they still going to be doing that at the end, when all the mud has been slung?
‘The Trust’, like that is some faceless bureaucracy. What is the Trust? It’s the people. The people make the Trust.
Nah people view the trust as the senior management team (The man) people who sit in the head office and throw people under the bus. Staff don't view the trust as employees out on the floor.

Ah yes that makes sense. I'm sure I've seen monthly figures somewhere, I'm off to look.

I'm not medically minded and so I wonder what circumstances the other babies deaths were deemed to be 'natural' versus the babies listed in the case.

ah cute!🥹so sad to think of them separated at first they probably missed eachother but glad they are doing well now. one set of twins in our hospital they were born at 33w and one was 7 pound 5 and the other 7 pound 1 (😳) but they still used to squash together in one cot🥹

Gosh so that’s really recent for you. I didn’t realise that. I know you comment sometimes to make sure everyone else is ok and post details for support for people to contact but please make sure you look after yourself too!! ❤

Is that from January to December for these years? As that is not the time frame that is being investigated.
Do we know if any of these deaths are suspicious? Maybe they are and LL was present but there wasn’t enough evidence to charge? Maybe a number of other nurses were present.
Maybe some of the deaths were natural? After all a few natural deaths would be expected in this time period.
If these deaths cast doubt the defence should bring them up. If not, then the prosecution should. I’m fairly confident they will be brought up.

ah teeny, are they still small now? My baby is 12 months so similar age. The mam of the twins was absolutely adamant they had her dates wrong which in hindsight they probably did🤣

Thank you❤
I'm currently on the waiting list for PTSD treatment amongst other things and speak with a lovely lady at twins Trust on a weekly basis, which is why I passed their details on here😅
I'm regularly told off from my partner for following the case along, but I can't help myself. I have recognised when I need to stop reading though & step back! X

I think on their last weight around their first birthday they were 20lb each🤣 not so dinky now 🙈
Hope your little one is doing well post graduating!

Wow my single was 7lb 2oz at 39w+5 ! I can’t imagine two pretty much the same size as him in there!!! Are they sure she was 33w?!?

ETA: oh ignore me I’ve seen you’ve said they probably got the dates wrong!

mine was 6 pound 4 at exact same gestation but he stayed tiny from bowel issues but it was so funny looking at them especially when the other twins were teeny. one nurse called them colossal 🤣🤣🤣the mam was adamant the dates were wrong but I think she was ignored. If I remember rightly she went into natural labour with them.

ICUs don’t tend to use the NEWS2 scoring but a different type of 24hr charting.
Ideally temp should be taken hourly but sometimes is done less frequently if the patient is stable and so as not to wake them if they’re sleeping.
