Why are they not indicating the times/dates of birth of these babies?

Did this happen the day they were born? How many hours old were they? Because surely that has a significant impact on how quickly they could deteriorate?!

Oh god, I feel sick to my stomach reading about that poor mums witness statement. I think I’ll be fine reading other witnesses and medical experts statements, but I think I’ll take a step back from reading what the parents are saying first hand. It’s so heartbreaking that she never got to hold her baby, and that poor little boy never got to feel his mothers arms!

Just a reminder to people, please take a step back if this is affecting your mental health. I know we all want to know but we can always read a summary of what is said at another time.

O wow this is going to be another level of heart breaking today. Hearing from a mother in her statements makes all this so much more real. I was quite emotionally removed until now. I think what is just so desperately sad and one thing the mother will never be able to get over is the fact, had it been one week later she wouldn’t have been in that hospital at all. Regardless if her baby died from hospital failings or at the hands of Letby, she will always have if only they held on one more week.

I was hoping they would report on the agree facts but they seem to have just said they're were read out. I think the agreed facts are important as it shows which bits the defence aren't questioning.

Shame as Dave J definitely listed the agreed facts in the Star trial and they helped give a good sense of why some evidence wad more solid than other bits

It’s very hard to stay objective when you hear the parents talking about their babies, isn’t it? I have no experience of NICU so I can only imagine it’s worse for people who remember their babies being in there, but just as a mother the statements are heartbreaking to read.

They may be released to the court, but kept from being published in order to protect some of the surviving children's identities perhaps?
Also reading between the lines with some of them they sound like they happened in short succession.

I was thinking the same...it would be good to hear what the agreed facts are. Maybe JM will cover this on twitter but no updates yet.

Hmm maybe I will add a link to the reporting in each child section rather than copy and paste all the content. So it keeps the opening statement to give a quick summary but the link to direct evidence is there if people want to delve deeper. I’ll see what happens the next couple of days, how much content there is (expecting a lot actually). But I’ll keep the opening summary rather than replace it.

That’s an excellent idea. I honestly would do what’s the easiest. And if there’s a link to external evidence, daily notes, I’d definitely use that option.

I feel its quite key to at least know how old they were because a premature baby becoming unwell within a certain time frame after being born surely carries higher risks as opposed to a baby who had done well for 6 weeks, for example.

No it was air i think

Well for Child A it sounds like she passed away the day she was born on June 8th from what they've released so far.
And sounds like a possibile 28-29 weeker baby.

I don't think it makes much difference if it's not being released into the public domain to be honest, I'd like to think the jury had all of this information but I think it being held back is dignified for those involved. So people can't try and make a future link to a surviving child.

There is no way I could be on that jury, I can’t even handle reading the accounts nevermind hearing them. bleeping awful for everyone involved. Theres just no words.

If anyone has NowTV, there is a 3 part documentary called "The Beverley Allitt tapes" on there (originally from sky crime).

Are the court transcripts from her case available to read? I know there is a site which has lots of them but couldn’t find them when I searched quickly, I wondered if big cases like hers are left sealed?

I’m friends with a nurse there who knows LL from university-not that well- and she’s aware that the hospital doesn’t have the best reputation but then 3 out of 5 hospitals have some kind of problem based on the CQC standards. She doesn’t want to discuss the case with me, nor her feelings on LL and I don’t know if that’s because she thinks she’s innocent, thinks she’s guilty, or is just a true professional.
