@avabella you are aware the hospital can be negligent AND Lucy be a murderer at the same time? It doesn’t just have to be one or the other. In fact you could argue Lucy knew the hospital being negligent/under staffed meant she could actually carry out what she is accused of much easier effectively using this to her advantage. The trust is not on trial here Lucy is. Regardless of what the hospital did or didn’t do if she has murdered them then she has murdered them🤷🏼‍♀️

I do wonder if there have been changes in Neonatal care since this first came out or if it's always been area/unit/individual dependent (even if it shouldn't be).In the SCBU my son was in everything was double checked by two members of staff before it was carried out.

Lots of organisations come together to make things disappear - that's not really out of the realms of possibility. I'm not some mad conspiracy theorist, but what's the point of her having a trial, if its just decided she's guilty and that's that, because the precious NHS could never make mistakes and attempt to cover their own arses?

The NHS have made plenty mistakes and also took the blame for it, I am positive they are not taking this secrete to the grave to cover something that didn’t need covered up in the first place🤣

So by your argument then, she's guilty and that's that - there's no other explanation?
Well not by only that aspect of evidence alone, no! By all of it combined so far, yes I do. I’m not the judge or jury- I don’t have to wait for anything before I make my own interpretations or opinions on it. But I will listen to anything that says otherwise and weigh it against what I’ve heard so far of course! And my opinion, like yours, still won’t matter at all.

The amount of people that would have to be involved to wrongly pinpoint this all on one person seems so farfetched to me. And I am usually the first to criticise the NHS, so no bias there.

“I killed them on purpose” is such strong language. If she worried babies had died because of her incompetence, I doubt you’d use that wording. Maybe “they died because I wasn’t good enough” but not killed.
Someone suggested it could have been written whilst she was on the phone, so taking notes. I think there could be a possibility she was writing what was being said by others. Without the context of when the note was written it's difficult to analyse fully. I wonder if the circumstances of when it was written will be addressed in court or of it will only focus on the content of the notes.

Yes, but you must also be aware then that it also can be one or the other? It just seems a lot of posters have had this case drawn up and solved before we've even got into it. I'm sure there will be many more twists and turns.

If she’s not taking the stand in her defence, is it likely this note will ever be explained?

With the triplets did it say that the only one that survived was the one in a different room because it was the sicker baby. What are the chances that the two who were actually born medically better would die? There’s just too many coincidences for me I think

I have gave reasons to why she could be innocent plenty of times. You seem to not be happy at anyone who suggests she is guilty but want to make sure you protest her innocence which makes you no difference to anyone declaring her guilty after 5 days..

I think the problem we have as humans, we've all seen witch-hunts and scapegoating and bullying.
From nurses to cashiers, we have a culture of "if your face don't fit" and it's bleeping rit. I have been that person who's face never fit. (Initially everyone was fine with me, then I mentioned my partner is also female and things changed rapidly) but even those situations, even with workplace bullying, could anyone live with themselves letting someone who had seemingly dedicated their life to helping babies, be then known as a serial killer of baby's?
Every way you look at this case, it's just bleeping abhorrent and my heart is with those parents and families more than ever 💔

Haha the answer is nope
And you can see that from the latest CQC report , still being rated as inadequate

IMO I believe she is guilty and I also believe the hospital was incompetent. I think both are true and it just allowed Lucy Letby to continue her killings as there were so many failings within the hospital, she thought she’d get away with it under the guise of a sub par hospital.

Why the big assumptions? I really couldn't care either way what anyone else thinks, the same as they shouldn't really bother what I think either - it's all open for discussion. I find all the different theories really interesting and it's enlightening hearing about medical terminology and procedures. Sometimes questions might sound stupid but if you don't work in that industry than you can't know until you ask. I'm not protesting anyone's innocence but trying to look objectively and see if other explanations are plausible.

Much agreement with this. Clearly a lot of people do believe the narrative of a failing hospital scape goating her too🫣

Totally agree , I feel IF she is , the hospital standards and competence allowed her to get away for that long

Please outline the benefits for the trust for allowing a serial killing nurse to flourish over accepting their own failures? Many many trusts are failing, many have to answer negligence cases against them. I wonder why more don’t go down the blaming a serial killer route? The trust are getting there arses handed to them over this. You’ve not answered whether you think the nhs conspired to poison babies via insulin to cover their tracks? Can I suggest if you think yes to that- you probably do lean on the wild conspiracy theory side of things ever so slightly 😅

I just can’t fathom how a hospital would rather be seen to have a child killer in their staff instead of just accepting they were failing and make changes to fix it!

I agree. Both parties guilty, although one intentionally and the other due to negligence.
