Someone stop this man. Mrs Gill, if you are reading this right now then I beg you cut off your husbands internet access.

He has been absolutely disgusting and insufferable all day, I can’t believe what I am reading. At least we can safely say that if she gets a whole life order, there’s absolutely zero chance of her ever getting it overturned if he is going to be the one doing her appeal.
Honestly this man needs reporting to the police. He’s now admitting about knowing doctors in the Netherlands who euthanise babies, I can tell you that is not legal anywhere in the European Union, if the world.

…Or maybe the idiot just doesn’t know the difference between euthanasia and palliative care 🤔

Earlier today (well technically yesterday) I asked my son to contact a journalist friend of his who is following the trial, as in he has been to court on many occasions. When he last asked a couple of weeks ago when Letby was first being questioned by the prosecution the friend said "I think she's guilty, but you never know with a jury". Latest comment "I'm 99% certain she's toast!". Just wanted to share.

Can I just say I honestly feel like these threads have been great. When I started following along I honestly thought it was possible letby could be innocent so I'd like to think I didn't come into it with my mind made up straight away. L wasn't sure about the initial air embolism evidence - it seemed more like theory to me, I didn't think the confession note was as damming as others did.

The insulin evidence was the turning point for me and now I'd be stunned if she wasn't convicted, but the way you guys here have collected the evidence in the wiki, have consistently documented the trial and have welcomed the doubters into the fold as they've seen the light has been fantastic.

He refers to the subject of the text messages, which are "normal".

She was a "young professional woman with a life", and the messages contain "social activity and banter".

He says only when "you start with a presumption of guilt" can be taken as different.

He refers to the 'go commando' message.

He says a young woman, being cross-examined, being "humiliated" about something 'completely unrelated to what we were talking about', in front of the public, in front of her mum and dad, was inappropriate.

He says "You saw me raise to my feet more than once" about the style of questioning, and the comment about 'running out on your boyfriend [doctor colleague]' was inappropriate.

He adds the messaging was "unremarkable".

He says the basis of Letby being 'bored' was used as the basis of an allegation she went out to kill a baby.

He says "others were doing it at work" [text messaging in the workplace].

He cites four work colleagues who did so, and they were "normal...what you might expect".

He says there is "work, gossip, there is winning at the Grand National, there is salsa dancing...normal things."
i absolutely despise the word ‘banter’. You only ever it see it used to defend awful things someone has said rather than admit they were wrong. And here we have a bloody defence barrister using it.

Ahhh tattlers I sooooo want to tell you something that happened today 👀 verdict day, I’ve tales to tell!
@nosycowmoo were you there at 10.30 this morning and hear the judge adjourn? Did he mention what days court was sitting next week?

Honestly it just wouldn’t surprise me if it’s not a full week.
Defence is all week 🙂

The closing was so sad, imagine the jury hearing it in that room, naming all those babies and seeing their parents? What a way for him to end.
I'm interested to hear BM still, not that I'll change my mind but I'm intrigued to see what he has to say given that he didn't present anything. All he can do is either attack the credibility of witnesses or call the parents liars, even though the jury have seen these people for themselves and made their own impressions on their reliability.

He’s just trying to word salad/bore the jury into submission. 5 days, not sure I can face that so imagine how (if any of them have already got their minds set!) the jury feel!
It's like he's trying to meet the word count on an overdue essay.

I went to court today with my friend. It really was horrible. let's call him by his real name BOWEL MOVEMENT. He talked very loudly and forcibly almost aggressively compared to BNE. I know you've all read the CS reporting so you know what was said but imagine it in his loud, arrogant voice and painting all the expert witnesses as unreliable. He didn't just throw Dewi Evans under the bus he cut him into 100 pieces first. He tried to make Letby look like a brilliant but wronged nurse. It particularly annoyed me when he said "NOT GOOD ENOUGH". Why didn't he also mention "I KILLED THEM ON PURPOSE". The way he normalised the 257 handover sheets because only a small amount were relating to these babies. The way he criticised BNE for what he said about her social life. The point was she tried to lie about this to gain jury sympathy that was why BNE brought that up because SHE LIED. The way he tried to normalise the FB searches.
We came back in the afternoon a little early and when we were waiting at the chairs outside we saw a group of people nearby all together. I am sure they were the parents of the babies. Then another couple sat quite near to us and I immediately knew who they were the parents of.

Interestingly for the first time I heard no names name as well as the gang of four anonymous doctor

I cannot say I'm not getting a bit worried because he's starting on baby A tomorrow and honestly the way BM is I really hope that jury is sensible and intelligent to see through this man with no experts to back him up but plenty to say vis a vis medical knowledge. He is so confident and vocal.

The thought of that evil monster walking free and the parents with no answers fills me with dread.

Sorry just jumpin in quickly. Last 2 months have been shite at work, and I’ve been working all hours, so wasn’t able to follow in real time, and despite trying to catch up every day, I always seem to be 20 pages behind.
But I just wanted to say thank you all for your fantastic posts: full of insight, brilliant analysis, wonderful, much needed light-hearted spin on an otherwise harrowing case to follow, and for your wonderful company. I haven’t posted much in the last few weeks because being always behind, I feared I may say something that’s already been said or sound annoying asking a question that’s already been answered. I’ll miss you all very much when this ends, so like a few people have suggested, I’d really be up for a side-thread. ❤
Now, back to BM. Listening to him so far has been hard. I’m going to be dipping in and out, but as it’s already been said, he hasn’t really got much else to go by and he’s just doing his job. Tbh, I want him to do a good job because I don’t want LL to come back crying and the chance of there being a mistrial. I think the parents have been through hell, and they deserve closure. So let BM do his best, but he knows, and we all know, that no matter how hard he tries, it is plain to anyone who’s been following that she’s guilty.
I applaud those who’ve waited to hear everything before deciding she’s guilty. Congratulations!! I was in the guilty camp from day one (despite having a small wobble when BM first put her on the stand). However, BNE did such an amazing job cross-examining her that there’s nothing anyone can do or say to make me doubt she’s guilty. BNE has removed any possibility of doubt for me. Well done BNE ❤
Sorry for the long essay/rant. Hang in there. It’ll soon be over & those poor babies and parents will have justice. Nothing will bring those precious little ones back, but justice is the least we can give them & their parents.
I look forward to reading all your wonderful posts. Keep them coming 😘👍🏼

Apparently he’s doing a fine job according to the FB group. Blowing the prosecution case apart!! According to them. Amazing how we see different things. I haven’t followed today, what are we all thinking?

The laughter from court 8 would suggest otherwise!

Had an awful day today. My uncle who has been a second father to me, has been diagnosed with dementia. It hits hard as I’ve seen many a dementia patient suffering and I just don’t know where to go from here. I am so heartbroken for the future times to come where a man so intelligent and caring (and would hate if lucid) declining like this, losing his identity ☹ I think I might need a break from reading about hospitals, shame I can’t escape it in my line of work.

Exactly, she had just done a course which talked about the risks of air embolism. She was a nurse, she could’ve picked up a textbook, used a work computer, maybe even seen something on tv and there would be no record of that.
Who knew being a barrister was so easy?

"Did she Google it mate? No? Well I think you'll find she's not guilty...."

Mr Myers says Letby has not searched for things on 'air embolus', or 'forcing in air', or any 'fascination with what's alleged here'.

She didn’t need to Ben, she had a whole training course in May 2015 that even covered air embolus.
I’ve not needed to Google things I’ve literally just been on a course for.

I can't see many people being happy about her looking after their babies in the future.
Never ever happening. She’s toast. She’s thrice toasted, charcoaled, smoking toasted toast with extra toast on top xx
