I've started writing this many times and deleted it. I'm not going to lie you've really got my back up but I know that's because I have an emotional connection to the subject matter and you very clearly have not.

I could've aborted my baby the day before he was born in this country. Legally.

If he was born in the Netherlands I could have murdered him the day after he was born. Legally.

The strict guidance you speak of, the criteria for murder (if a child is already born its not fucking euthanasia or palliative, it's murder) would've been met by my son and MANY of his friends within our community.

When he was born Louie had congenital heart defects, kidney problems and various other issues. He would have met the 'very strict criteria' but instead of murdering him I decided to just love him.

Oh dearest Della, I had no idea these things are allowed to happen. I hope I don’t put my foot in it but I couldn’t read what you wrote and not say anything. So much is unknown about how your baby will be and grow once they are here when you find out they have challenges ahead. My girl had congenital heart defects (and quoted high chance of DS which she does not have), it hurts my heart to think she could be viewed as less than others, or a suffering to be ended. I can’t even imagine how it must make you feel knowing this is allowed. Fuck the Netherlands.

I can't imagine sitting in court today and hearing their names. I'm not a religious person by any stretch but on the days that I've found this hard going I've taken myself to the church in the hospital at lunchtime and just listed their wee precious letters out. I hope their parents know that they will never be forgotten, every single one of them have lived and will live on and we are so so sad for what happened to them. My heart breaks

Do we think Judge's summing up will take all next week, or are there some planned breaks do we know? If not, we could be in deliberation territory by this time next week, what a thought...

judge will take a number of days because he basically repeats all the evidence for both sides again

His is just the facts rather than any of the narrative but it’s a lot to go through. I think he will take the best part of all of next week.

Ben Myers could be two days as I think he will go through each baby like he did when LL was on the stand

Jury do basically hear both sides of the case four times each. I think it is quite a thorough way to do it.

- opening statements with general idea of what the case is and what the evidence will be
- actual evidence
- closing statements with a round up of how all the evidence fits together and how it links with what was said on the stand
- judge summing up of evidence

By ones who collapsed despite having good air entry but saturations were dropping: Child A, C, D, G, H [second event], I [third event and fourth event], M, O [twice], P.

Sorry, I'm definitely being dense but just wanted to check I'm understanding the naming but not naming them thing

So instead of saying 'saturations were dropping: Child A, C, D, G, H' in court what he's actually saying is the babies real names? (but those names can't be reported, which is why they're replaced with letters?). So he's actually saying 'saturations were dropping: Adam, Cara, Denise, Georgia, Hailey' (but their real names not fake names I just made up)? Think hearing it with their real names must make it even more gut wrenching.

Was debating it yesterday and if he had calmed down I wouldn't have. The bit about euthanasia though made me so angry. He's deranged.

It made me angry too, my child is one of those children who could have been euthanized until the day I gave birth, the "without reasonable future" bit really got to me. My child has an amazing life and the world is a better place for having her. What an absolute arsehole he is.

Going back to the prosecution having a "theory". Well, it's not the prosecution that has a theory, is it? It's the police and it's not a theory, is it? The police spent a long time investigating and came to the conclusion that she has done it, therefore creating the need for this trial. BNE didn't wake up one morning and think... "I think Lucy Letby killed and attempted to kill those babies so let me in that courtroom and I'll try to prove it, based on my own theory". Sorry, I know it's just wording, but come onnnnnnnnn Ben!

I think the biggest point of this is that for BM to be right, and she is telling the truth, then soooo many people are not only lying, but are correlating with eachother. It’s just not plausible

Here is a funny little story to make you smile. I can’t whistle for shit but always wanted to be able to do the whistle bit in always look on the bright side of life.

When I was 6 I got it into my head and that I turned 7 I would be able to whistle and when I went to bed on the eve of my 7th birthday I was so excited - I woke up in the middle of the night and saw it was past midnight so it was my birthday and I tired to whistle and I couldn’t - was absolutely devastated

My 6 year old thinks you only grow on birthdays, so each year on his birthday, he comes running to ask if he looks taller and see if his legs have got longer. Bloody love it for him

Been sort of following today from the thread but, like a lot of you, I don’t think I can keep going the rest of this week. I know he has to do his job and obviously give her the best defence possible, but it’s such hard reading about little defenceless babies.

My cousin (who was more like a big sister to me) had DS. She was the most funny, vibrant, loving girl. She was loved by so many people around her and didn’t let her disability hold her back one bit. She would’ve given anything a go, she was fearless. She passed away quite suddenly at 18 due to complications with her heart and it was devastating for us. She may have only had 18 years on this earth but they were the best 18 years and as my aunt will say, so worth all of the worry and struggles she faced in the beginning. We treated her just like anyone else, her disability didn’t define her. 🩷

I’m sorry but if someone’s made aware of any issues with their child during pregnancy, then goes on to have the child, and ends its life after birth then they’re totally fucked. You take the chance of having a ND, disabled, unwell child the second you get pregnant. Over it all. So big Dick and anyone else that has the opinion that these babies don’t matter because they were premature, unwell, disabled, green, orange, purple and everything in between needs to go and have a word with themselves

Children who collapsed when designated nurse left or leaving the room: Child C, D, G [first event], I [second event and fourth event], K, N [first event], P [third collapse - when doctors were out of the room], Q [slight variation - when Letby got herself out of the room].

Premature babies screaming/crying at time of collapse: Child E, I, N.

Children who recovered quickly when taken to other hospitals: Child H, I [after 3rd collapse], N, Q.

Mr Johnson says Child K's tube never moved after being transferred out of the Countess.

Mr Johnson says if Letby had not sabotaged seven babies, they would all have gone home. The other 10 babies, Letby attempted to murder.

Wow. This is just… wow. To anyone there today I send so much love because this must have been so hard to hear. But on the contrary having those names read out each time feels like the beginning of justice in some way. They are acknowledged as defenceless innocent babies, as living people who deserved better. My heart feels so heavy tonight.
