As always, you're right.
Can you let my husband know? Will save so much time 🤣
Honestly I know there’s a chance it won’t go how I think. I’m just as confident as possible that it will. And not that I think I am right as such just total conviction in my opinion that she is guilty.

How long have you been married? We've just hit 22 years and to be honest it's only in the last few years he's realise that I am absolutely always right. It takes time you see, you need to break them in 😂

I've had a little wobble this morning, not in her guilt (obviously) just in the convictions. It's the dreaded what if.... its a scary scary thought.

Anyway off to have my eyebrows topped up and my beard plucked...it takes hours of intervention to maintain this Matalan Momma look 🤪🤪🤪

I’m going to have to catchup, but it’s interesting if there is hard swipe data that shows she wasn’t there, and yet it’s being disregarded from those who feel she is guilty. If the swipe data showed she *was* there, it wouldn’t be disregarded, so why the opposite? I find that really interesting. As I say I haven’t caught up so if I’ve misunderstood the evidence my apologies.

I’ve not caught up to be fair. But if BM is saying ‘her swipe data shows she wasn’t there’ - how can anyone then say ‘that means nothing to me’ - it’s door data 🤷🏽‍♀️

Ok caught up somewhat, damn parenting duties!

This seems pretty clear cut to me, what did the prosecution say about it?

'The event is recorded for Child N at 1am. Swipe data is shown that Letby entered the neonatal unit at 1.15am. The court has heard swipe data is collected when staff members enter the unit, not exit'.

So are the prosecution (or those who believe guilt), alleging that she has harmed baby N, left the unit and then returned at 1.15am?

because it doesn’t show she wasn’t there. The baby collapses at 1am. The swipe data of her entering the unit was 1.15am. What time did she leave the unit (because she was already on shift)? How long was she gone for? Where did she go?

It doesn’t prove she was not on the unit at 1am. She still has no alibi for 1am. She could have literally just gone to the door and swiped the card and never left the unit at all.

I can’t answer your reverse question because I don’t think we have an example in evidence. It’s not an all or nothing decision that swipe data is credible / not credible. It’s how it fits with the timings of any other evidence on that shift.

So the defence say that two Drs make notes about baby N desaturating at 1.10am. Do we know who called those Drs to assist? I’m just going to check Wiki.

I honestly think she's a murderer. She knew that unit better than anyone and if she's going to murder a baby or harm a baby she's going to want to cover her tracks. Especially as people were definitely getting suspicious.

I may be simplifying it but if I was to shoot someone I would throw away the gun, wash my clothing, scrub my body etc etc.

If Lucy Letby the baby killer wanted to confuse the swipe card system then she would.

I get that, I really do. I just think in the eyes of the law/the Jury it’s a really powerful piece of digital data that shows she wasn’t there. Even the prosecutions version of events don’t directly name her, just that baby had a sudden desaturation.

I hope the prosecution go hard at her and tie her in knots - there’s been a fair amount of lies told so they just need to show that she can’t be trusted and is bleeping at it with her version of events and the jury will see through it. I also think that’s when we’ll see glimmers of her real personality begin to come through… she’ll be indignant and want to make sure her narrative sticks so I do think she’ll become quite defensive which will let the jurors see what they’re really dealing with.

I’m certain she’ll be found guilty and get a whole of life order at this stage and I really hope I’m not wrong.

Oh I followed her disappearance very closely, I am building myself up for the documentary. Her Mum seemed great when I saw clips of her...ahhh bless her. How sad x I just cannot imagine.
Its really well done and respectful, you can tell her friends and family had input into it but yes a hard watch all the same.

Both are not equal though. Swipe data that shows her card has been used to gain access to an area means if it wasn't her then someone had her ID card and was using it without her knowledge (she'd notice and it's unlikely someone would steal it, travel into the hospital, enter the areas she had access rights to and then returned it before she noticed), and if she did know it was missing she'd have reported it as is standard procedure. However you can enter areas without physically swiping your card if you trail in behind someone or they hold the door open. You aren't supposed to do this but plenty of people do. Not saying this did happen, but both aren't the same imo at placing people.

Hopefully she will get questioned more about this for clarity or there has been clearer information given that we're not privy too.

Will the jurors be able to ask for more detail if they don't feel satisfied?

I suppose there is no record of her exit, maybe that's why it's unreliable. Harm baby N, skip off the unit so you're not there when he crashes, then waltz back when you know he will have had his event?

Isn’t there only one entry in and out?

I can’t really judge on the swipe data, as yet, as there is no explanation of why she may have left the unit? Is it not telling that BM didn’t ask her the simple question why?
I think most of the jury will have formed a firm opinion on whether she is lying, and if they think she has lied on one or 2 occasions it will be hard for them to believe anything that comes out of her self pitying, whiny mouth.

I think the swipe card is just a handy confusion tactic. Leaving the ward during your shift doesn’t carry the same significance as arriving for your shift to me. We had a fluid cupboard on the landing that you would be gone to for less than five minutes, some nurses pop out for a smoke (naughty naughty), you sometimes go and borrow something from an adjacent ward. All convenient ways to look like you weren’t on the ward at a specific time.
Edited to add, it might not even be as devious as making sure there was a swipe card hit, just that she’s done something to baby and made sure others knew she wasn’t around when it happened.

Exactly this. She also was seriously trying to fool over her “best friend” with the later incidents for baby N imo.

See, I was thinking could you borrow someone else's swipe key and vice versa to enter the unit? Because I was thinking of the times when I was supposed to guard my keys with my life but left them in another room and had to get someone else to help me get my keys. She's so cunning, I wouldn't put it past her.

Christer Booth had just gone on his break at 1am (designated nurse just gone for break and serious incident ✅) and can’t recall who he left to keep an eye out for baby N. Baby N was in a clinically excellent condition. He had no problems apart from haemophilia that was not making him ill.
Baby went from 99% saturations to 40% and screaming. But recovered quickly. To me that says pain, really shocked and hurt by something.
Letby coming back onto the unit after that doesn’t mean she wasn’t there for that. The fact it then happens again for baby 12 days later (!! What naturally occurring problem can he have?) when she is around just cements it is her. The fact that the baby shows pain symptoms, bleeding and severe swelling shows he didn’t have a spontaneous bleed as she clearly wanted to try and claim. The expert in haemophilia has said it is incredibly unlikely that was the case.
