Poor Les Dennis again.

I don't know what you witches have against Les but please leave it out now. Poor lamb will get a complex 😂
Poor ol’ Les will start feeling like he’s the one in trial, not Lucy- he already did his time when married to Amanda Holden 🤣

Playing devil's advocate here... If you took my phone away and put me in prison and questioned me about events and messages from 6/7 years I wonder how accurate my answers would be. Even my memory of my daughter desaturating in scbu 4 years ago. I couldn't tell you precise details other than feeling immense panic. Obviously it was my daughter and emotions and hormones and lack of sleep and she was okay after increasing oxygen in the incubator literally a consultant touching a button. but after two days I stopped even registering midwifes and nurses names they changed every 8 hours. I don't know how much a nurse could be expected to remember. However in saying that, I also have a higher expectation that if you witnessed a child's death and had responsibility for their care, you would go over the details more and remember. Do you remember details from messages and critical events in 2016/7? Is there something wrong with me?

She forgot the details whilst being interviewed by the police and now suddenly remembers them.

So yes, you're right...how does she suddenly remember all these years later? Weird huh?

Hope your little one is OK now 🙂

I can remember random one-off work emails/conversations from 5/10 years ago, but I can't remember why I went upstairs 5 minutes ago.

Mind you when I had an incident where I messed up at work, and immediately confessed and felt terrible about it for days, my recollections got worse over time. I couldn't bear thinking about it so when I got interviewed by an investigations team a few months later I was giving a worse account of it than was true because I thought the worst of myself and felt guilty and it influenced my recollection.

No, there's nothing wrong with you. I'm a nurse and I honestly couldn't tell you about the majority of patients I looked after 6 years ago, it tends to be a never ending flow of patients. I have a but though. If it was a patient where something unexpected happened, that deteriorated and/or died suddenly, I would reflect on that patient and I do keep a reflective log, to look at what happened, why, if there was anything that could have been done differently that would have affected the outcome, and what I would do in that situation again.

So if the police came knocking 6 years later, I would have referred to my log. The log may take my memory back to that time, but my only evidence would be in that log, unlikely to remain on my memory. I just don't see how she can be so certain of such tiny details so far down the line especially as she didn't seem to remember anything at all in the police interviews which were much nearer to the events.

I believe she is guilty.

the issue I have with Lucy’s testimony, is we have stacks and stacks of ‘I don’t remember’ type responses if she is being asked about something incriminating, and stacks and stacks of ‘I remember where I was’ (not at the cotside, in the doorway, someone else did it) type answers to anything that goes in her favour.

its the pattern of her memory recall that doesn’t add up for me.

maybe that’s just a normal pattern of behaviour memory for Lucy though 🤷🏼‍♀️

Weird indeed, I wonder if she's spent her time thinking in prison of better answers than what she said in interview. I guess you get one shot no prepared answers as you don't know what will be asked.

Hope your little one is OK now 🙂
She's a sassy, wise, beautiful and funny 4 year old! I am very lucky x

I’m finally leaning toward guilty. It was Dr Breary that convinced me. (Relistened to podcast). I really didn’t want it to be true.

This is what I think really good nurses / doctors would do.
Also thinking she might be guilty after being on the fence for so long. I had missed a lot of this mammoth trial though.

Notice how today she said it was the first death for that other nurse as desig nurse. Was that part of the thrill for her? Seeing the despair of her fellow nurses? To date, I always figured she hated the babies themselves, but I’m starting to feel they were just collateral damage and her main aim was more the thrill of chaos, confusion and hurt for fellow nurses and of course parents. She was spending most of her week with both nurses and parents and so harming the babies caused these two groups or people pain.

Very good to hear that! My 11 year old was in SCBU and some of my memories are sketchy, infact there are parts I think I've completely blocked out or compartmentalised.

I do remember to feed him daily so that's good 😂

couldn’t tell you what I did last week. But I can certainly say that I can recall certain unexpected events in my career over a 15 year period, down to the exact room/bed space I was in, what the weather was like and who else was around me that day. The unexpected or harrowing ones stick - I’d recommend watching the bbc series by Dr Adam Kay, it was uncomfortably close to real life at some points.
But saying that, I wouldn’t remember the dates and usually wouldn’t remember the family name of the individuals to search them up later on.. just recall vivid circumstantial clinical details.

I also think it’s interesting she can point out slight things on the notes such as 1ml difference or an hours timing yet can’t remember the incident??? Huh?? Baffling BM thought her on the stand would help the case but then again, he can’t stop her if she wants to give evidence

How big is this bus? It seems to have the entire unit under it along with some independent experts. May as well chuck the pathologists and radiographers under there as well.

A query for those in the know. Baby J is the baby with the stoma where the suggestion from defence is heavily leaning towards baby shouldn’t be at COCH. Not enough staff and those there not qualified enough.

however I noticed baby had gone to Alder Hey to have the stoma fitted. And baby then returned to COCH. If baby shouldn’t have been at COCH and that was the cause of the collapses, are AH also to blame? Surely they are the ones saying baby can now return to a level 2? Or is the onus on the receiving hospital to say we don’t think we should have this baby.

Not quite caught up yet, but to add- she had seemingly one experience of having another dying baby after one died and that was enough for it to become gospel for her, to hell with anyone with decades of experience on this specific unit. But she’s seen a couple of stomas at LWH yet that’s not enough experience at all! And yet all these other nurses willing to muck in or learn and that’s wrong too. I guess if LL isn’t comfortable doing it- no one should be. She’s done a stint at LWH, don’t you know?!

I suppose there’s a bus ready for AH or COCH, perhaps both.

I was feeling sorry for her before she started speaking.
