Aussie tattler here, I can't tell you how happy I was to find these LL discussions. I've caught up since about the 20th thread.
I've been listening to the podcast each week and following the case but have had no one to talk to. I gave some friends a run down over dinner recently and they all thought it sounded horrendous and it wasn't something they cared to learn more about.

Anyway I thought I better pop out of lurkdom to say hello, I appreciate all your thoughts and wisdom. Tofino you're my hero and without freaking anyone out I just wanna let you know I miss you all when you're sleeping.

So we on tattle get challenged for forming a guilty opinion based on just media reports of the evidence yet an anonymous person on Reddit uses the same reports we are all reading to diagnose a viral infection and writes a 30 page document that’s data tested with a team of researchers and suddenly that’s credible and needs to be sent to BM asap.

All her memories are in her favour, and all her no memories are things that would incriminate her. They are stacking up massively. Can’t wait for cross examination.

I think that these posts on Reddit are more that just random speculations.
He claims he is renowned in his field, has published papers, has a PHD from a very prestigious university. Has worked forensically on cases within the NHS previously. He claims that many people in his field have been baffled by this case and that is why he was asked to look in to it.
He has insight in to what equipment and testing is available at COCH and Liverpool.
This man has made claims that he and his team of researchers have put together a 30 page document with data he has tested.
They have scientific/mathematic tests documented which he feels could refute many of the claims the prosecution have put forward. The theory he has put forward for the Insulin case was very interesting to read.
He speaks very confidently about his claims. He seems passionate about this trial and that he is certain of her innocence.
His main claims being that at the time these virus’ were circulating in other hospitals. That they would effect twins and multiples. That they would be spring/summer which he states accounts for the breaks over the winter months. And he correlates how during these months the still birth rate greatly increased along with the deaths.
He is vague with what he is doing with the information but I do expect that he plans on doing something with it. It’s obvious hours of work has gone in to his research. I look forward to seeing it if it’s ever published.
I found the thread very interesting. He has a answer for every question asked of him.
Well I haven’t checked since this morning but I’m looking forward to reading any updates this evening as I find reading alternatives theories fascinating. I guess of course he could be passed off as nothing but a conspiracy theorist but he seems very confident and seems to be able to back up every point he makes. I think the thread is worth a read.

If there was any weight to them, Ben Myers would be using him as an expert or putting forward his theories... It is incredibly easy to make up a persona on an internet forum and speak confidently where the audience are not peers or experts in the subject. Websleuths is the only forum as far as I'm aware where you have to be verified as an expert to post as one - and he isn't on there. Genuinely, why would an expert invest so much time to convince randomers on Reddit?

Thing is, even if you’re innocent you really must be honest even if you think it might not look great. Because you need the jury to believe you when it really matters.

If she agreed with at least one parent’s account, even if it doesn’t look great (baby collapsed when mum went for coffee, mum did come down at 9pm and it was same time i got the mucky aspirates, yes I did say the bath comment but I meant it fondly, ) it becomes more credible than just denying every witness account every time.

You know I think she’s guilty, but even if she was innocent, she’s is spectacularly shooting herself in the foot every single time she denies a witness account. Everybody else being wrong and your memory being the only correct version is just not credible. So then you just can’t believe anything.

Admitting a couple of typos is just not going to cut it in the credibility stakes!!

But of course I believe she’s lying because I think she’s guilty so she’s got a deny everything mindset on her.

With regards to her parents…I dunno, this is really hard to explain but I’ll try. My mum completely cut me off when I told her about her husband sexually abusing me, totally took his side and I haven’t seen it heard anything from her since. Guess what I’m saying is part of me thinks, god, it must be kind of comforting to have your parents be so ride or die for you when you’re accused of mass murder? Sorry if this doesn’t make any sense my head is mashed today 🥲

Her dad was on the phone then passed the phone to her mum. Made me wonder if they were on the phone to Lucy. Also made me realise they probably don’t go home at weekends?

LL just got there now she’s having to go all the way back to prison for the rest of the week. She’ll be having a fit, poor Lucy. There are no words

For those that believe she is guilty, if she is found not guilty, do you think that you will still believe she is guilty?

Yes. I would take it to be not proven beyond reasonable doubt rather than innocent.

Playing devil's advocate here... If you took my phone away and put me in prison and questioned me about events and messages from 6/7 years I wonder how accurate my answers would be. Even my memory of my daughter desaturating in scbu 4 years ago. I couldn't tell you precise details other than feeling immense panic. Obviously it was my daughter and emotions and hormones and lack of sleep and she was okay after increasing oxygen in the incubator literally a consultant touching a button. but after two days I stopped even registering midwifes and nurses names they changed every 8 hours. I don't know how much a nurse could be expected to remember. However in saying that, I also have a higher expectation that if you witnessed a child's death and had responsibility for their care, you would go over the details more and remember. Do you remember details from messages and critical events in 2016/7? Is there something wrong with me?

No, there's nothing wrong with you. I'm a nurse and I honestly couldn't tell you about the majority of patients I looked after 6 years ago, it tends to be a never ending flow of patients. I have a but though. If it was a patient where something unexpected happened, that deteriorated and/or died suddenly, I would reflect on that patient and I do keep a reflective log, to look at what happened, why, if there was anything that could have been done differently that would have affected the outcome, and what I would do in that situation again.

So if the police came knocking 6 years later, I would have referred to my log. The log may take my memory back to that time, but my only evidence would be in that log, unlikely to remain on my memory. I just don't see how she can be so certain of such tiny details so far down the line especially as she didn't seem to remember anything at all in the police interviews which were much nearer to the events.

I believe she is guilty.
