I remember an early mention of a partner, I’ll go off and google….

as for her parents I find it odd they’re holding hands going in and out of court everyday, I bet they’ve been told to do that.
I think if I was going to court with my husband to listen to disturbing evidence against my child accused of these god awful crimes I would hope we would hold hands just for support.

My baby was in hospital at 5 weeks old and a nurse at the time added me on Facebook. She obviously searched me. It popped up on my phone and then went just as quick…error on her part by clicking add friend. I never said anything but wish I had.

This. Completely irrelevant.

Also the ASD discussions are not necessary, or the assumption of her being a weird loner or her fertility. Unless it comes up as a fact all of these are just assumptions. Yes it’s hard to believe a woman could do these hideous crimes but assuming she’s this or that could not only be wrong but offensive to other people going through such things who do not commit crimes.
You can’t police peoples speculation. I’m not one for speculating on motive but ultimately the people on this thread are doing exactly the same as people will be across the country right now. Trying to justify why someone would do this and that involves speculation. In cases like this everyone is an armchair psych/police man.
i think the people discussing her race are referring to racial bias. There was something just on the news last night about how people with mental health issues who are BAME or predominantly black, are more likely to be sectioned/arrested. In todays society I’m not surprised people are suggesting views of her innocence may be biased.

I'd like to know;

- how they came to decide baby A was the 'first' baby allegedly killed by LL.
- the numbers of collapses and deaths in similar circumstances across all years that LL worked there.
- if the other nurses had searched family members of the babies they cared for.
- if LL had picked up extra shifts, putting her statistically present more in the hospital than others.
- if there were any collapses or deaths in the time she was on holiday.
- if there were any collapses or deaths in the time she went on admin duties.
- if there were any collapses or deaths in the night shift babies when she was on day shifts.

Again, we haven’t heard the full evidence or the defence’s case. At the moment it’s not looking good but that could easily change over the next 6 months. It’s only been a couple of days. If I was on the jury I wouldn’t be making my mind up about it just yet, that’s a very dangerous way of thinking and everyone deserves a fair trial no matter what your gut is telling you. You have to set your emotions to one side in court and can only go by the evidence presented.
I think the point is we're not on the jury though and this isn't one of those crazy Facebook groups where they refuse to think about anything that might contradict what they already believe. I'd like to think even with a gut feeling, people here are more open to evidence changing their minds?

a few things strike me about this case and make me think it was all about POWER and she actually got a high out of playing God, choosing who lives and who dies and tampering with parents' lives. Most of them are things she's reported to have said:

1. 'There was an element of fate' in how one of the babies died
2. 'He's going'
3. 'She's just started deteriorating'
4. 'Trust me I'm a nurse'
5. Smiling at the mum bathing her dead baby, saying how much the baby loved her first bath when she was alive.

Not to mention the sympathy card and stalking them on FB. I really think this was a sick, twisted game to her and she was truly getting an adrenaline rush out of it. She was actually enjoying the drama and the leverage/control she had over these families.

I've made the mistake of venturing into the Facebook pages this morning...tattle is a much more sensible place to discus.
I am in no way defending her, I've said from the start I'll hear the prosecution, defence and evidence presented before decided if I think she's guilty, hopefully none of these fb people are ever on jury service cos they are just like, guilty, h@ng her etc before all the arguments have been made, its mental, and then anyone who comes in with an opinion such as wait and see gets accused of being unsympathetic. The same goes for those who are blindly protecting her innocence. None of us know enough yet to properly comment on her guilt/innocence, we can speculate sure, but god the way some are completely decided already is just madness. Thank god for tattle.

The ASD chat is really irrelevant and totally damaging to existing societal stereotypes - there's been absolutely nothing to suggest she has ASD - an absolute reach to even bring it into conversation.
Thank you. Having spent years working with highly intelligent autistic people I can’t see anything to suggest an ASD diagnosis in Lucy Letby’s behaviour. Time to move on.

They've only been papped once holding hands.
Why is it hard to believe her parents would need support at a time like this?
They look like they've been through it and it's only the 1st week.
agreed! guilty or not, they’ve lost their daughter too in all this. it’s not their fault she’s apparently a baby killer. i can’t even imagine how i’d feel if my child was charged with this.

the amount of press outside i’m not surprised they’re holding hands in / out for support and making sure they stick together.

I've just come accross this thread so don't know if this is known info or not, but consultants at the Trust were raising concerns for quite a while and the directors were telling them to be quiet. They were identifying Lucy has the potential problem at the time of the deaths and they were told to stop raising this or they would be disciplined for bullying her. Management at the hospital did not want to deal with this.

One thing about professionals. They are birds of a feather and they flock together. They can and do single people out for terrible things, of this magnitude? Maybe not? Would I put it past them fully? No.
oh good lord, guys who are backing the scapegoat theory please take a look at yourselves.

This is a massive major trial with so much evidence, it will take SIX MONTHS. There is so much evidence it took seven years to bring this case to court. This is a highly complex trial that will feel “wrong” to many people because we are not used to seeing white, thin, middle class nurses kill loads of babies on purpose.

I know it’s tempting to be distrustful of authorities and don’t get me wrong, there IS a culture of cover ups within the NHS however it is far fetched to believe they would bizarrely ping it on one person. Please read the extensive details that have already emerged about her looking up her victim’s parents and trying to kill babies multiple times.

Her ethnicity is absolutely relevant. White middle class women are less commonly convicted of offences and are statistically more likely to be viewed sympathetically by juries and the public. Imagine it was a black young male nurse, do you think half of Tattle would consider him as nothing more than a scapegoat?
Agree. The people who are saying it isn’t relevant perhaps aren’t fully aware of the huge levels of (sometimes unconscious) racism.

At the moment, she is being presented as a white, middle class nurse from a well adjusted family. A significant number of people are suggesting she is a scapegoat, based on no tangible evidence. Highly doubt that would be the case if she was from a different ethnic background and from a broken home.

One part of me hopes she is guilty because I can’t imagine how fucked up her life will be after this if she’s innocent. I also think it would add closure for those poor poor families. But really there’s no winners here, awful situation

I can’t get out my head the parent of one of the babies going in the room while she was attacking the baby. It just takes me back to when I’d go and see my tiny baby in her incubator and the nurse would be with her and you just think they are amazing for caring and looking after them. It just breaks my heart that this is what this parent was probably thinking aswell.
Can’t really make it make sense typing it out, but hope you know what I mean. Hope you’re all feeling okay aswell ❤

Im a massive conspiracy theorist tbh but I cant get on board with anything that makes a mockery of those poor babies suffering. They either suffered because of Lucy Letby the hospital or even both but regardless they're victims.

I’m not sure if this has been said yet as I’ve not read every comment but I seen this on a daily Mail article

‘Mr Johnson said: 'By this time Lucy Letby was supposed only to be working day shifts because the consultants were concerned about the correlation between her presence and unexpected deaths and life-threatening episodes on the night shifts.'

This seems like complete bs to me. If they had genuine concerns of there being a correlation then they would have suspended her and launched an investigation there and then. If it’s true and they did have suspicions and didn’t act on it then they have blood on there hands!

Oh I hear this! I was told for a long time with my autistic son I was "imagining things that aren't there" until he came to his 2.5 yr review and all of a sudden it was "why haven't you reported concerns earlier" hello I have since he was 9 MONTHS old and was told I'm making it up! I was also looked at as crazy when I 1st questioned if my youngest has cerebal palsy, one professional even put "mum thinks babyLucy has CP cause she reads things on the internet". Turns out I was right with both of my SEN kids.
I get it Lucy, one of my most hated phrases on daughter's reports is 'mum has been reassured'. Mum hasn't, and is now dealing with a hysterical child who doesn't want to ask for help anymore because they think she is mad. It never even occurred to me that we could be sniggered at and judged by 'nosey' staff even after our appointments. I hate the thought of my daughter growing up surrounded by people who treat her like a novelty or a freak show. Being autistic myself, I wish I had never had children.

They are saying she physically attacked the latest baby. How could that go un noticed?
This is what I don’t get! The mottling of the skin of so many babies, bleeding in the throats and now liver trauma caused by force. The whole ward should have been investigated immediately. They had chances to stop this!
