I actually think this is the most compelling case so far. She was pretty much caught red handed but Dr J sadly didn’t quite realise it.

But he didnt report it to the police. This being baby number 11 and he didnt report it

From what I can see from Google she was the face of the campaign in 2013. But it ran until 2018 when they achieved their target.

I wonder how they decided who the face was, did she have a big part in setting it up?

I don't disagree with his account, I just think it's a weak charge if the standard is beyond reasonable doubt and the charge is attempted murder. Bear in mind murder requires intent to kill.

We don't have a log proving anyone silenced the alarm. We don't have any proof someone dislodged the tube at all. And the only witness specifically DIDN'T see Lucy do anything. I can't imagine how you could vote guilty on that?

Again though, I say this as someone who firmly believes she's guilty. I just find this one lacking, which is fine, because I think it's part of a bigger picture.

oh yes absolutely right he was annoyed with her. Given she looks down on a lot of the staff you would expect she would be able to do a better job of knowing how many shots of adrenaline the baby had. I did wonder about her trying to sabotage treatment.

Yes I think this is the same one. But that also concerns me.

Who does a consultant report to say, a nurse being constantly late to shift? Or on their phone all the time? Or a patient complaint. Who has the authority to deal with that?

So if this consultant had concerns, enough to say he actually went to check on her - surely he has enough leverage that he can put her on supervision or a competency plan etc. If this incident was as serious as he is making it out to be - why was there no repurcussions?

I'm Chester, so North West, and we say 'kegged' too. Then 'keks/kegs' is a blanket term for trousers.

I'm late to the Murdaugh case but started watching the Netflix documentary this weekend.

Spoiler: Netflix Documentary

Only 3 episodes but it's covers not only the boat crash, the shooting of the Mother and son, the killing of the sons male lover and now I'm on the last episode it has moved onto the housekeepers death.

It's interesting. Sorry I edited to put the content of the documentary in a spoiler warning as although I know it's real life and there has been a trial etc. people may not be aware of all the death and tragedy... dunno if that was the right thing to do

I watched all three episodes last night and highly recommend them to everyone - thank you so much for the netflix recommendation. The kids are ultimately the ones who have paved way for any justice here, the bravery of them and their families (especially Morgan) is unreal. I hope beautiful Mallory’s death may at least lead gp a positive outcome in the whole family being found out and stopped, but the power and wealth of the brothers/son is still a concern. I avoid conspiracy stuff in general as my brain would just spiral but the conspiracies behind this could be

So do you position yourself on how drippy someone’s texts are based on another context? Texts are texts, why would they read differently based on judgement of what someone is accused of?

Here in the States anyone you give permission to drive your car is covered as long as they have the right to drive. Some insurers automatically add family members as they come of age, making the assumption that you will let them drive. If someone had a dui, they may require a sworn affidavit you won’t let them drive to keep rates based only on your record. You would be primary insured and your record the main one.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. Apparently she didn't tell anyone about the 1ml aspirate but she documented it and the baby had treatment? So doesn't sound like she's trying to hide what happened. Unless there was a different bleed and I'm getting them mixed up?

Can someone please refresh my memory - who ordered the insulin from the pharmacy? Why would it be ordered if there was no babies requiring it?

We can’t really judge whether she’s been jaded by life or has a perfect life. We know nothing about her as a person, just what she’s accused of.

She could have been the school bully, or bullied her entire life. She could be up to her eyeballs in debt, or so comfortably financially she’s bored and looking for a money cant buy thrill. She could have been abused by a partner or her parents, or she could have been an abusive partner or child. She could have fertility problems or she could have had a child who didn’t live with her. She could have been forever single, she could have had a string of relationships, she could have been with her childhood sweetheart for many years. She could have spent her free time volunteering at food banks or a dogs home or she could have spent her free time playing poker, drinking whisky and smoking weed in someone’s garage.

We have literally no idea about any aspect of her life (except she went to salsa class with another nurse) other than she was a neonatal nurse who is accused of harming babies.

Also, she could have experienced all these negative things, many people do, and it wouldn't be what made her a serial killer!
