Regarding insurance, I have open insurance on my car. It's an option for all policies you just have to opt in, makes it more expensive obviously but it's handy to have.

I don't suppose it's anything we haven't heard already in the write ups or podcast but this vlogger has been doing a deep dive. I haven't had chance to watch all the way as they're quite long but looks as though she takes time to explain and use pictures to show some of the terms and procedures being discussed in court.

I thought most serial killers started in their 20s? So it’s not a surprise for me that she was 25. Shipman was young when they think he started, he was 29 when they think his first was.
A documentary I saw about him suggested he actually started as a student doctor. There wedeaths of unknown cause at one hospital. They are now figuring it out.

I’m of the opinion that a small number of people are just born wrong, that is to say they are wired for wrongdoing from the start. Not to open the whole nature/nurture debate.

That said, if I were a betting person my money would be on Lucy being the survivor of a set of twins from IVF, and that this plays a big part in her motivation. Will have to see what comes out after trial, doubt her parents will speak on it but those who know them may sell stories.
now that is interesting. I really hadn’t thought of yet. Was she mainlytargeting multiples? iVF babies?

Maybe the band 5s were considered staff nurses. Band 6 is a senior nurse so might be why that's her job title.

Newcastle here too and I use it the same way but more for knickers and boxers than trousers. Haven't used it for the baby's Nappy tho 🤔
Band 5s are staff nurses and band 6 are senior staff nurses.
She probably took on additional neonatal specific training to be termed a practitioner but that would normally correspond to a higher banding too.
Nursery Nurses would probably be band 4.

It has to be doesn't it I suppose, one makes sense along side the other, but stand alone, it wouldn't. I always think back to the pencil theory when I'm feeling a bit unsure of her guilt on each individual case
what’s the pencil theory plz?

I'm on holiday (with my mum 👀) for 2 weeks end of May/beginning of June with no Internet access (unless I pay £20 a day) on some days. If that verdict comes in on one of those days, after following the trial so closely, I'm going to be gutted.

Might be late to the party with this but it made interesting reading. Seems the defence was a very similar one; coincidence/bad luck, scapegoat for hospital failings etc etc.

ETA... Looks like there was a documentary released about it in the states a couple of weeks ago See no Evil: Angel of Death. Not sure if it's over here but anyone with IPTV might be able to find it. I'll have a look later.
It’s also part of the Murder on CCTV series on Discovery (series 8 Ep 29).

My feeling is she probably spent some time in Torquay with her parents before going on holiday with them.
Yeah, I don't think someone like LL would pass up an opportunity to tell people she was going to ibiza so this was probably the first stop. Or maybe there's been an error in the timeline somewhere when it's been reported.

I think she probably has Munchausen by proxy. Coincidences of this magnitude don’t happen. She has probably done this before and gotten away with it in previous employments. Hospitals are sadly places where people die, so it’s a good place to work undetected. Scary.
She became a nurse in 2011 and began at Countess of Chester. She also did her student nursing here. She did some sort of special training at Liverpool, and they checked there, finding nothing.

Surely if he was married he wouldn't let her take his car? Tbf the married/relationship junior Dr's I've come across don't even have time for the partner they have nevermind trying to juggle two of them.
I thought she was just borrowing the car while he finished his shift though but yeah I take both your points.

I guess I'm just trying to work out the relevance of it all. I've mentioned before I wondered if the prosecution were using stuff as a kind of character assassination so I guess the married theory ties in with that. Yeah, she comes across all sweet and beige but really (baby killing accusations aside) she's a bit of a dick 🤷‍♀️

Now we’re coming towards the end of the babies cases being presented (I know there’s still a few charges to go) will we be going through every baby individually again for the defence? Or is it likely they’ll present their defence as a whole?

Can I ask why? They’re human-beings and deserve protection just like everybody else.
Sure. They work for/with the public. The public have a right to know who's been involved in what. It's not like Lucy is about to be sending gang bangers to their front door steps. Just think full transparency would be the right thing.

I was reading a book the other night - totally unrelated - but it’s a court drama and it mentioned that the defence get a list of the prosecution witnesses. Is this purely for the fiction book or I assume this is what happens in real life? So she would have known this witness was due to appear?
