I haven’t watched any but there’s quite a few documentaries on YouTube about BA.
It is a bit weird them still having photos of her.. I think I might have deleted too.. Unless I supported her.I think her colleagues having her photo on their facebook still is weird, if it was me I would be deleting everything that associated me with her and for sure if I thought she was guilty. So are they backing her and think she’s innocent ?
If so I would love to ask them what they thought happened to the poor babies that were murdered/ harmed.
This is why it seems crazy to me that such big decisions are made by 12 random people! I don’t know what a better system would be tbh, but it just doesn’t seem like the best option in some ways.We argued at ours, resulting in one juror walking out at one point although she did return but stormed out after our final moment in court. We didn’t reach a verdict and the CPS didn’t push for a retrial.
We couldn’t reach a verdict after 3 days of deliberations as some of the jury thought the good looking guy on trial couldn’t possibly be guilty of the grape on the girl he was accused of. Especially because she admitted being drunk. Even though he literally said “I pushed her to the floor, ripped her tights, entered and waited for her to object. She didn’t so I carried on”. We heard days of evidence of the impact it had on her. But a few of the jury blamed her. I still think about the victim today and how it must have affected her to go through that and then feel like she wasn’t believed because she was. You get such a broad mix of people on a jury and everyone reaches different conclusions even though you’re all hearing the same thing. I imagine there will already be people on the LL jury with a strong opinion both ways
Exactly! If you’re not “managing” your profile, are you really going to remember to go back and delete a profile photo from a few years ago?I think that might be a generational thing. I use FB mainly. I find it easier. My generation are possibly less addicted to their cameras, and insta, for me is more a photo sharing site I do have insta but use it rarely.
I think the lady with the photos may be my age ish... Many are weirdly technophobic and don't really 'manage' their profiles
I don’t think not deleting old pics is too weird, I meant the lady who changed her profile to a pic with Lucy and another colleague in 2017 so that was after the arrests. That to me makes me think she didn’t believe she had done it because who would change their profile pic to a photo with you and a potential baby killer.I’m not reading too much into her colleagues still having old photos up on their Facebook accounts.
When I split with my ex, I deleted pretty much everything about him from my Instagram but didn’t bother doing anything with Facebook because it’s not really a commonly used social platform anymore in terms of updating my day to day life.
They probably have forgotten that they have posted photos with her. Especially any younger colleagues. I really don’t know anyone these days who uses Facebook as their main source of social media.
Hi just wanted to jump in here and say I agree. We are all guilty of having a snoop on Facebook and clearly enjoy a bit of a gossip (considering we are all here on tattle discussing this)!I don’t think it’s that bad to have a stalk on facebook tbh. I think what makes it bad about Lucy is that it was repeated on multiple occasions, searching on xmas day and anniversaries of a death. I think at that point it becomes more of an obsession than a cheeky facebook stalk. Like for example I'm not now going to watch what that nurse does on xmas day.
Yes I completely agree with your post. Some things you can look at as an isolated incident and it seems innocent but how many coincidences does it take before it becomes something more? I guess everyone’s opinion on that will be different but for me I think it’s just one too many. If she is innocent you can still see she is quite obsessive non the less like xmas day and anniversaries are a bit too far.Hi just wanted to jump in here and say I agree. What makes is weird is that she was searching the parents' on significant days, like Xmas and anniversaries, potentially curious to see the impact the loss of their child had on them which goes beyond curiosity and into something more sinister IMO..
Prosecution might be theorising that she was checking up on them to see if they posted anything about their loss/grief to get a buzz from it. Lots of killers take keepsakes to remember their crimes and re-live it mentally to try and chase the high they got from committing the act. This is similar, maybe looking for evidence of the impact she made on their lives by taking their baby. It's really sick, but Beverly Allard famously befriended the parents of her victims for similar reasons.
Also consider that in interviews with Police she pretended she didn't remember one baby which she had been searching for (parents) on Facebook.
Ready to see more evidence and stand corrected but looking guilty to me for now after this week's evidence.
I can't get my head around her saying in interview she doesn't remember!!Yes I completely agree with your post. Would you still have the same opinion if you knew she was searching most families she looked after? (Not just those she is accused of) I still think it isn’t innocent due to it not exactly being a quick nose, she repeated it multiple times.
Interesting! I have just been asking myself this after seeing she searched parents of babies not involved in the trial.Would you still have the same opinion if you knew she was searching most families she looked after? There are reporting restrictions to protect the babies and parents anonymity, among other things, at the moment. For those who can’t see the now tv doc on BA - it was quite eye opening for a few reasons; how she spoke, how she was innocent speaking until suddenly she broke sort of towards the end of the police interviews. She stole a key from ward and slipped up. But also she referred to a baby as ‘it’ like that was shocking and cold. They had professionals and experts listen to the tapes and then give their opinion as best they could. The thing is we know she did it because she’s in prison. Until the guilty verdict comes of LL people think oh she’s cute and normal no way she could do something like that. Point is we don’t know what goes on in a psychological mind. There’s a reason it’s her o the stand and not her colleagues etc. having worked in large units what I will say is when something tragic happens the team are sad and it’s hard to talk about. Mostly told not to discuss it until the internal review is done so I can imagine where LL was protocols will have been changed, staff will be told not to talk about it and now this is going on in court. How it’s not in the news more is insane. I just don’t get that. Like those tiny lives don’t matter to see what comes of the woman accused or even of the case.
Literally watching this right now and having the same thoughts. I thought BA was just always obviously nuts but really similar how people thought she was great and caring and couldn’t believe it.There are reporting restrictions to protect the babies and parents anonymity, among other things, at the moment.
Over reporting could be claimed as prejudicial to LL having a fair trial so would be another reason for restrictions.
I’ve just watched the BA documentary in the ‘Born to Kill?’ series on YouTube. The similarities are striking, not so much in the individual psychology but in others perceptions. BA’s nurse colleague, who hadn’t known her long, said they ‘couldn’t believe it’ and thought she was being ‘stitched up’. One of the victims parents even hired a Private Detective to investigate the police as they couldn’t believe BA was guilty.

Not blaming people for this at all but in my experience there are many people out there who have no (or very little) critical thinking skills or natural instincts at all. I think of myself as a very ‘instinctual’ person, I sometimes get bad feelings about people who have done absolutely nothing wrong, and when I try and relay these feelings to other people, they don’t know what I’m talking about and say that the person is lovely, has done nothing wrong and I have no reason to not like them. The older I get the more I’ve learnt to rely on these instincts as they are almost always proven right.Literally watching this right now and having the same thoughts. lots of parallels
