I had a pretty gammy toenail loss after my marathon (and I do size up shoes) it wasn't infected though, if she has an actual infection she needs to take a break not be irritating her feet any more

Yes she trains hard but yes most people don't start their running already able to hold 25 minute 5k pace at a not blowing up heart rate. She should acknowledge the massive aerobic capacity her background in swimming has given her combined with the whole some people just win the genetics lottery and can do it. I doubt very much I could ever get to being a 3 hour marathon runner.

I find her actually quite smug, and implying that other people don’t train hard and that’s why they can’t run like her.

I also think she went into that marathon thinking it was going to be a breeze, and then realised the marathon takes no prisoners and is so hard whatever your level.

i used to love lucy’s content but find her a bit arrogant now especially on the podcast. however, she is so much easier to listen
to than her man. he’s just plain rude, even to lucy sometimes! he copies content and on the podcast it’s his opinion over everyone else’s. i feel like you can sense some of the guests are fed up with him constantly butting in.

Watching her video about the marathon...how was the elevation profile of the race a shock? Who doesn't check that? She also said she thinks she could go sub 3 after she's had kids...sure...that's the time to be throwing in the amount of time into training that would require. She did at least say she might get a coach for her next marathon attempt (presumably not for Lanzarote) hopefully an actual running specialist coach. She has at least checked the elevation for the next one :ROFLMAO:

She also said she had new shoes for the marathon which seems a bit mental. I too am so surprised she didn’t think about the elevation. It’s not a good advert for her coaching that’s for sure.

I also find it a bit “eek” when she talks about having kids next year as there doesn’t seem to be any thought to the fact it might not be a straight forward journey. Maybe that’s something she would document, in which case good for her. but I worry she could have issues and she’s told all her followers she’s trying next year, so could be painful for her if it isn’t easy. Maybe I’m just a pessimist (realist).

I eek a little bit every time she talks about having kids like it's just a given but I've experienced fertility struggles and IVF so probably am generally more negative than average.

Yeah it’s never a good idea to build in timing of kids into your life. And then shouting about it to the world is even worse! Sometimes it happens when you would like, others it doesn’t. And now she’s told everyone about it, people will ask and assume.

Sub 3 is a tough one. That’s running 4:15 per k for 42 km. she’s def not near that by any means right now! But because of her history and obviously natural ability, she will probably do it with the right coach and training. I’ve been sub 3 4 times out of my 6 marathons and the last 10k is a brutal brutal 10k, and I would never assume I could do it again. It’s never a given. (But I think I have a few more in me before I give up the long stuff!)

Also why does he always post pics and videos of him with cigars? Interesting for a health and fitness person. I know we all have our vices… but smoking?!?!

In my opinion, for someone who doesn't "race" it's a very Billy big balls assumption she can go sub 3. I've managed it 4 times but I know many many people who whoop my ass in shorter distances and just can't break 3 hours and they are much better runners than she is. She needs a coach but also needs to prioritise running for a sub 3 training block. And after she has had a child (if this happens!). You can be sailing to sub 3 for 20 miles and then lose it all in the final 10k. In my opinion she is way too flippant about running. She needs to 100% admit she got chester very very wrong! She went out at 7 minute miles!!!! And had no idea about the course?! Definitely either needs a coach and to drop the ego. She 100% wanted a much quicker time than she got in Chester and she ballsed it up... much learning to do. You can be as fit as a dog but if your legs aren't primed for the racing distance then you have no chance....

I think she’d also have to adjust her weight lifting/workout schedule to go sub 3, running would have to be the primary focus. I can say all I like though as for me I can probably only do that pace for 1km at best, maybe I could stretch it to a mile in perfect conditions. I can’t imagine holding it for a 5k never mind a marathon.

I doubt she would do that. When she did her ultra she said she was in a bad place mentally as all the running made her lose much of her muscle mass, so I doubt she’d want to 100% focus on running

Did she say she was in a bad place mentally, because of the loss muscle mass? If her body image/exercise/diet issues are that bad, how would she ever cope with pregnancy and the changing body shape during that time period.

Yeah she did, she felt like she was too skinny and I think a lot of people were commenting on the way she looked. I can appreciate that if you’ve built your whole brand around your appearance, it can be hard when that changes

Cue another “I’m too skinny” post from Lucy, because she ran a marathon, did Everest base camp, then another marathon. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that 3 endurance events will take its toll 😞

Just me who found that a very self indulgent bodycheck? =/ and as you say after that amount of endurance training... No surprise...

Yes she gets annoyed when people comment on her body being manly or too skinny etc but then does tons of posts about just that. Fuelling the fire.
