Absolutely comical that Louise set up an Instagram for Darcy under the guise of ‘supporting her’ . We all know who all of this is *really* serving. Genuinely taken aback that she’s done such a 180 on the whole ‘not showing darcy on vlogs’ and ‘not letting darcy have social media’.

Also, even if it was Darcy herself who wanted to make an Instagram (which wouldn’t surprise me, she’s more than old enough to understand social media and has had a camera pointed in her face her whole life) - all L had to do was say ‘no’ ? She’s the parent ?? She could have had a very age appropriate but candid discussion with D on why social media is not appropriate for children, really turned it into an educational experience. But no. Vanity trumps morals. What a great lesson to teach your kid.

I was looking through the Darcy dance pics and Uhm.. I don't think her form looks very good/graceful/elegant like a ballerina often does. 😬
I said this a few pages back. You can just tell she doesn’t “have something special” or whatever louise said, from her photos.

And here is the exact issue. Or one of them. This is a fun hobby for Darcy and because she’s been put out there too much by her own mother she now has adults judging her online.

Could this all stem from Louise lacking a strong sense of self?

She has always been very heavily influenced by who she surrounds herself with; her content, decor, hobbies even her language and mannerisms all go through seismic changes whenever she gets a new friend (PTA Louise when she first met Esther was a prime example).

We currently have my least favourite version of her to date - 'dance mom' Louise. She has adopted stage kid mannerisms, photos and language. The speed of her switch into this mode is verging on manic - I would warrant she has spent thousands of pounds on Darcy's dance in the last few weeks - custom tutus, dance skirts, dance shop sprees, summer intensives.

The problem is we know this is hollow. Darcy is Grade one and less than a year into formal lessons and Louise has made it her whole personality in the space of a couple of months. She has muddied the water further by making this dance mom persona a central part of her job - Louise can hardly call herself a YouTuber any more and almost all her Instagram content is now focused on shilling bags or shilling Darcy (often both at the same time)

The pressure this places on Darcy must be intolerable.

Louise should really watch some of her old vlogs where she contenplates on how much she shows Darcy on her vids and instagram. Her thoughts and actions about that have totally took 180 turn.

I'm sure Darcy is starting to understand why she has to pose for photos - it's not just her mum being proud & loving, but more and more about her mum getting attention from strangers. It's like an addiction to attention, where the addiction slowly wins and all values are forgotten one by one.

Poor Darcy looks so tired in the new photo bless her. And on the second morning of her course when she’s probably pretty exhausted from a whole day of dancing the day before wouldn’t you want her to have a lie in and feel rested before she goes in for her second day? Shouldn’t this be the focus, making sure Darcy’s comfortable and happy? Nope, Louise needs to get her photos! And going on about the skirt being good for photographs, surely the purpose of its design is to look good with movement, you know, for dancers. Some things are made for reasons other than to be photographed!!

I'm a dance Mum, and a really bad one. I know nothing about dancing and when getting pointe shoes for my daughter was completely out of my depth, sewing in ribbons and sticking on toe pads (you tube was my friend) but even i know Capezio is a major dance wear brand and not a 'little shop in Covent Garden'

Yes exactly this - I don't even judge people for pointing out that Darcy isn't that talented at dance, because a whole dance insta made to look all professional and identifying yourself as a 'dancer' and doing all these photoshoots and things is going to automatically draw people to look at the level of talent. And when you see that amount of effort for mediocre talent it's obvious, because seeing pictures and an account like that you expect the child to be above the average for their age.

And the whole reason there's now opportunity for strangers to judge her online is because Louise has enabled this to happen. She should have just enrolled Darcy in more classes/the competition team if she wants to do it and enjoys it, but literally all Louise needs to do is buy her the stuff for it, drop her off at class, drive her to competitions and go home after. It didn't need to ever be commercialised or brought online in the first place, and it's really worrying how Louise has started shaping her entire personality around it.

I’m not even a dance mum (or a mum at all or a dancer) and even I know Capezio, Taylor Swift wears it on tour.

Is Louise actually friends with Katie Piper? If they're friends I wonder if they just avoid the topic of kids and social media, as Katie is not showing her kids' faces on insta. I respect Katie for giving her kids privacy.

They have the same Management so all the ones in the same Management big each other up and promote each other.

I could be wrong, but if Darcy is in a dance school they'd at least have their own uniform (or just required to wear standard black leotard and/or skirt). With the exception of shows where they'd all have matching, provided outfits anyway.

Which means all this money on the expensive outfits (which would only usually need to be spent when she is way more advanced) are purely for Instagram 🙄

Exactly this, they will have a uniform and standard for exams. Also the summer school will be open to everyone, my daughter has done lots of these kind of things, they are not usually skilled based at all, or if they are it’s very basic skills required, especially in ballet to open it up to all children. It’s great Darcy has a hobby, but she’s just started, give her time to explore herself before going overboard with the dance wear and boasting. She will only ever need basic leotards for lessons. Never those elaborate skirts unless in competition and the dance calls for it. Which, and I could be wrong, its unlikely to in ballet.

I often think about when Louise was showing all the 'bits' she got for one of the girls birthdays, probably Pearl, and maybe one thing was something for the girls to actually enjoy and then she went off showing everything else saying 'for photos I got this this and this' and it was so much tat that she only bought to be props for 'photos.'

It doesn't even surprise me that Louise has had a custom ballet skirt made for Darcy just for photos.

I also agree with the people who have said that Louise goes through phases with what she shapes her personality and lifestyle around, she even admits that she decorated her entire home based on what she thought would be trendy for insta and then regretted it, I really don't think she has a secure sense of self. She probably follows a lot of 'dance kid' and 'dance mum' accounts on instagram and now wants to copy what they do.

Absolutely this. It is such a shame that an adult woman who has friends, has navigated a divorce, has a very secure lifestyle etc can't seem to find what makes her happy. Does she have any hobbies that aren't spending? The jewellery making died quickly. Otherwise, crafting with the kids, Darcy's dancing... they're not her hobbies.

My daughter used to go to dance classes when she was little. She started around 4 years old, she loved it and then when she was 6 years old she asked to leave as it wasn't fun. That same day I got a leaflet through the door for taekwondo classes, I asked if she would like to do that instead and she's been going ever since. She will be 13 next week (which tbh terrifies me haha).

Back to the dancing, there were so many 'dance mums' and they were absolute clones of one another. In my daughters age group there were 3 other kids. One had the same name and spelling as my daughter, they got along well and her mum was nice, the other 2 kids were awful. They had such attitude problems, said horrible things to my daughter about her dancing which at 4/5 years old was rather shocking to see but when you looked at their mums it was clear who they got it from. Never have I encountered such stuck up people in my life! The two of them were best of friends so did everything together, they were very pushy with their daughters and were vocal about other kids. Adult women bashing and criticising little kids!! Louise reminds me of them.

This gave me a laugh earlier today. I keep forgetting I had her on fb but this still from her latest story made me laugh especially when I think of her dance mum attitude. 😂

Poor Darcy is spending all day at dance school to then have to get up at the crack of dawn so her mother can take pictures of her for Instagram…

Noticed that she tagged Darcy's new insta account in teeny tiny writing on her last story. Didn't take long...

I really feel sorry for this kid. The last thing I'd want to do is get up at the crack of dawn to be a prop for someones instagram, especially after being active all day. She's still only a kid so will probably be finding this even more tiring than an adult would.

I know I am a grown adult, I know Darcey is a child who has not been dancing very long. But when I look at that all I see is flaws! Please protect her Louise the whole dance community will judge if you continue to act like she is the next Prima
