I hate Myska almost as much as O'Brien. A sanctimonious, thin skinned liberal shill who seems stunned that people actually have different views. Not heard a single pearl of originality since she started

At least she's easy on the eye. She seems pretty lightweight to me ... I don't take much notice of what she has to say, I can't take her seriously at all. It's Natasha Devon I worry about, she seems quite unhinged.

Anyone old enough to have watched 'Not The Nine O Clock News' will remember Pamela Stephenson doing an impersonation of Angela Rippon. An uber posh. pretentious, prissy, supercilious and patronising persona that Myska uncannily resembles

I'm not going to comment on Devon, I'd be here all day.

I am amazed O'bingo was able to squeeze his overinflated head through the studio door this morning.
He's subtly trying to tell the listener that he was too good for the BBC, walking out on Newsnight

New to the thread. But honestly I'm not sure what I just tuned into to. Quite like James but he's just shouted over a caller and faded him out. What's the word ....hypocrisy?

That was awful wasn't it, he just kept saying FACT, FACT, FACT over what the caller was trying to say.

I've just tuned in, but James' style and attitude is far too aggressive for morning radio.

Yeah, I didn't like it. I'm a radio ulster listener and we have a presenter doing similar. I lean more towards James views but just because I agree with him doesn't mean I agree with him cutting people off.
Bad journalism. I want to hear all points of view.

I just listened to some of Mike Graham this morning, for the first time. Actually quite interesting hearing Claire Fox and Peter Hitchens.

I couldn't face O'Brien. As you say ... too fucking angry and hate-filled for a Monday morning. I don't think I've ever encountered someone so deeply insecure yet so incredibly arrogant, unlpleasant and lacking in self-awareness. You have to ask yourself ... would you go to a party full of right-wing bigots or left-wing champagne socialists if you wanted to have a good time? ...I think I'll just have my own party in the park with strong cider.

Yeah, most folk want to hear every view no matter how good or bad or whether we agree with them.
James has done this for a while now though, belittle certain callers, talking over them, it's a form of 'sport' for him.
After 1 hour, I'm out

Yeah when people don't have a fair shot at airing their opinion and its just a show to spread his opinion it strays into propaganda territory. I've seen him doing that on tiktok taking snippets of callers and ridiculing them.

If you're going to call James O'Brien and talk absolute rubbish then he won't give you much airtime.

The caller was trying to claim that nobody on the BBC should ever express a political opinion.

For a while, he would say on-air "Be kind to each other" then goes out of his way to belittle others.
At the end of the day it's a radio station/presenter simply aiming for listening figures.
Restrict yourself to 1 hour BigMavis then seek relief in music, and you'll be fine

Its not rubbish, it was someone's opinion. He should have been allowed to express it but instead was shouted over, drowned out and then faded out.
Because his opinion wasn't the same as the hosts.
It's funny because that was the matter they're discussing

Did you see Jaquie (or however she spells her name) Smith on the BBC2 poilitics show? She was promoting some organisation she's set up to promote respect and being nice in politics ... only then about 30 secs later to talk over Isabel Oakshot and tell her to 'shut up' in a really condescending way? She looked bloody ridiculous ... as do a lot of these righteous types to like to tell everyone how to live their lives and how to act. Ugh.
