I found the pizza comment! (And another interesting one...) I actually do remember reading that, but as an American expat and it then being election times, I immediately thought of Pizzagate!šŸ™ˆ Any image or reference to pizza were being hunted down, so to speak, and trolled endlessly. But I can also see how she was perhaps referring to "average Joe" type of viewers, reading it again. People who would never "understand" her content. šŸ˜‚

It also looks like she was already planning back in November to host workshops herself at chicken coop manor (comment is from her Vegetarian recipes video)View attachment 583503View attachment 583504
well done [USER=207509]@Denise0211 that is the one! Yes, I didn't get the American reference (I'm from the UK) but I just thought that K was being extremely snobbish and referring to 'average Joe' viewers who wouldn't get her content and moved to make mean comments under her video, and making value judgements against pizza-eaters! šŸ¤£

@Denise0211 It was in the comments attached to some Video that she made around Christmas/New Year It's embedded in the responses, so I can't find it easily, but the gist of it is that some fan couldn't understand why her videos would attract hate. She commented along the lines of the fact that she had made a video concerned with making pizza (a 'common' food) it attracted the wrong sort of person who didn't empathise with her ... hence the barrage of hate and nasty comments. It's difficult to say whether she was snobbish or discriminatory (at worse) in this context, or merely thoughtless at best. Personally, I think people from all walks of life and demographics enjoy a good pizza. Although K's shimmying made me wince somewhat, I thought her pizza looked yummy. I was oh so mildly envious that she can eat such things and retain such a flat tummy ... but it wouldn't incite me to make hateful remarks personally.

I could go majorly totally off-topic here ... but there is a famous self-portrait of the 18-C artist, Liotard, here he is smiling, and some of his teeth are missing. Liotard had made a good living as an artist in his time and could probably afford sugar or sweets which were costly, maybe a reason for his toothlessness. His gappy smile could be an indication of his wealth or commercial success back in the day. These days, one might assume that he wasn't properly educated in nutrition or couldn't afford a good dentist, or ate only processed food, hence his gappy grin. https://www.theglassmagazine.com/pastel-turqueries-jean-etienne-liotard-at-the-royal-academy-london/. (you would need to scroll down the article a bit to see the relevant photo.)

I hope this all makes sense! AND you now know I am totally crazy! šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
Regarding how she eats stuff like this and stays so slim, she is clearly very careful about what she eats, she has mentioned growing up in a very healthy family and also once said she usually only ate brown rice when she cooked but they were having basmati that day ā€œas a treatā€

So maybe her wonky dancing is just an indication of her increasing affluence !

What attitude šŸ˜” always blaming everyone else for unfavourable comments and now she's got it in for PIZZA - slagging off Italy's best loved dish as being too common for her rarified 'work'. Yet more proof that Italy is only her platform and stage with no feeling or even knowledge of what lies behind it artwise, historywise or even foodwise. So much to say about pizzas instead of attracting 'wrong' viewers with her rubbish flirty dance moves - must admit haven't seen it yet - saving it up for a waiting room, long queue or airport delay -[QUOTE="emm, post: 5006563, member: 488

That got me too - again 'her' superior family vs Guido's pleby taste. He probably had a glassof WINE with it too.

@Spirit of place I think Guido has rightly ignored Kylie about the drinking, because he still has wine in various videos and talks about liking a good glass with a meal. But in one of their videos from Sicily (when he was still only a voice off-camera lol) she made a snarky remark about his liking vino and lots of it. Anyone else remember this?

@Denise0211 yes I thought 'gawd, passive aggressive and making it known how you feel superior. Rejoiced when G said at dinner he had a glass of wine or three. Good on you mate!

Letā€™s not forget that in the pizza video, Clever KyLIE made not only pizza, but, she said, her top, headband and shorts too !

Yes! She found a button and some more rags!šŸ¤£ I remember that too well. I don't think I would roll my eyes if someone said "I made this little outfit, it took some work. Do you like it?" But instead we get her squinting her eyes, fake smile and sing-songy whispery voice and need to know she spun straw into gold, basically.

I canā€™t remember what he said but in one Sicily video she ā€œjokinglyā€ said something like thatā€™s because youā€™re An alcoholic. I know I wouldnā€™t want her using my probably expensive wine to cook with

This! That whole scene was like a bad porno. Kylie and her O-face. That's the scene I was referring to earlier about kneeding the dough seductively. šŸ˜‚

@emm Thanks! Yes, she joked he was an "alcoholic."
I finally watched the whole pizza video, it is just SO cringe, so many shots of her bump dancing it is just insane. I wonder ifthe comments were really negative or just really pervy

For some reason, it reminds me of the old Wilson & Keppel sand dance .... maybe I've had too much sun!

@Alessandro .... this is the infamous pizza video. I have to say I cringed when I first saw this and it was this video that caused me to have doubts about Kylie. The shimmying at the beginning is so embarrassing and I am fascinated to know why she turned off the comments.

I haven't the will or energy to find it now, but during some commentary, around December time, about haters, Kylie was responding to a fan about this and seemed to imply that the word "Pizza" in this video attracted the 'wrong sort' of person who then insulted her. The snobbishness inherent in the comment made me smile at the time. Her inference was only uneducated people ate pizza, and it's possible to identify social stereotypes by what people eat which I guess could be historically true to a point. A book was published in the 80s titled 'Real Men Don't Eat Quiche' implying that quiche was a feminine food or consumed only by effeminate men!!! šŸ¤£
Thank-you for sharing @PlinyinTorquay šŸ˜Š Iā€™ve watched bit and pieces when Iā€™ve had a moment, always find it hard to sit through the vlog in its entirety! Yes the jiggling around in her home-made shorts was mortifying for her, however she is so lost in staring at her own image - like Narcissus - that she is unable to see how embarrassing it isšŸ™„

Brilliant @Denise0211 finding those comments by Kylie! - ā€œI think the word pizza attracted a lot people that donā€™t normally watch my workā€ - (!!!) šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜…As an Italian we often go out with friends specifically for a pizza at a restaurant as a special meal (eaten with knives and forks) and it is a choice depending on the night. Kylie always seems out of touch with the reality of life in ItalyšŸ˜¬

I think, she thinks of herself as elitist and comes across as snobby, arrogant and rude! She then contradicts herself or her belief about herself by not only doing all the sexy stuff but doing it badly.
She is a living, breathing oxymoron!
As regards her negative comments and her adolescent response to them, it's just as well, she didn't make it as a film maker. Not only would she have the film critics pulling her and her production apart but she would have her peers critiquing her too.
She can't be rude or obnoxious to them or delete their critiques.

Buonasera :)
I I am so glad I found this platform. I wanted to post as well weeks ago, but I was so occupied with other stuff. And then, today at lunch, Kylie sat next to my table by chance and now I decided to write something
I fell down the rabbit hole weeks ago reading all your comments and posts. Excuse me if I am making mistakes, english isnā€™t my first language.
I am a girl who came to Florence to study for a year and then I fell in love, first with the city and then with my boyfriend, and I stayed. I am now in Italy more or less for two years.
I started watching Kylies videos 1 1/2 years ago and I was amazed by her visual poetry. It made me remember, why I came here, because in reality, life was tough in Florence. I started felling hopeful and appreciating the beauty of this country again and therefor I am grateful.
I was one of her patreons, I donated 5.- every month until last winter, because I felt for her and wanted to help with a small contribution.
But I started seeing a weird, narcissistic behavior, her videos were always about herself but in the beginning, I wasnā€™t as turned of by her body language, lip biting, belly free cooking lessons...as I am now.
The way for example, she listens to Guido...one video, when they were in the car, she is always checking herself, doing a weird thing with her upperlip, sometimes her glazing interrupted by, ā€œah siiiiā€ then constant starring at herself again..how ridiculous.
Also her weird comment section. I felt like I am the only one who is questioning her. I remember her saying in a Q&A, that she never wears perfume or hears loud music on her earphones, because she wants to be mindful and not intrude someone elseā€™s space. I thought to myself, wow what a sensitive and thoughtful person this must be. But how does this go along with asking people for donations in times of a global pandemic when everyone faced losses one way or another? In her 2020 video she never even mentioned how hard live has been in Italy. For a person who prides herself on being so sensitive, that is too ignorant to beat.
Today I was at Santa Rosa Bistrot in Florence and while eating I recognized a familiar voice. And there she was, in an expensive beautiful floral dress, accompanied by an elderly couple and a woman. They were talking in english, I was curious but couldnā€™t listen to her conversation because I was having a business lunch with lots of talking myself. She looked very pretty and put together, curled hair and tanned. But the way she scanned the room with her eyes and looked at the waitress wasnā€™t that pretty at all.
I donā€™t think she is a nice person at all. I feel disappointed, tricked and manipulated in a way. My boyfriend was smarter, he watched a couple of videos with me and immediately disliked her, stated she is fake. Same with Ellen DeGeneres. He always disliked her, I loved watching her and believed in her nice girl persona. Well, turned out he was right all along. But I am so happy that I found this group...guess I wasnā€™t the only one who noticed some inconsistencies in her stories along the way.
Welcome. ā¤

She strikes me as the kind of person who would refuse to go to a casual pizzeria. I remember in one of her videos about how money (I mean i think she mentions money in every video, but this was one specifically about it ) she claimed to basically never eat out in restaurants, which as we have seen isn't true, but looking back on it it comes off as kind of implying she can do it better

It never occurred to me that she thinks of herself as elite; itā€™s so obvious sheā€™s not. But thatā€™s often how it is, isnā€™t it; the ones who think so highly of themselves do not appear that way to others. In fact, itā€™s usually the opposite.

And we are promised another ā€œcinematicā€ experience that will essentially be a vlog cinematially filming heršŸ™ˆ

yeah I agree, the whole thing of changing her accent is a clear sign of this. I remember when I first started watching her videos and I was trying to work outwhere she was from and almost thought she wasn't a native speaker as she has such a non specific accent

It is very firmly in HER mind! šŸ™„
It comes across in her opinions about people, situations and life events. She tries to play the humble card on occasion but it never lasts long, the elitism and arrogance shines through, she can't help herself.
