Haha I did the same, I was a bit jealous of the garden when I saw the pic but then read the details & realised it’s communal.
Best of luck to their new neighbours sharing outdoor space with KLD.
I’m pleased for them to have a home for when they’re married and surprised she kept it quiet. Maybe she’ll now become a grown up but unlikely…..

Regardless of how she’s managed to buy the house, I’m happy for her. I hope this is finally the making of her. She’s had it cushy for years and I genuinely think that’s the reason she’s in such a rut with her lifestyle. Having her own space, learning to be indepedent and and being able to properly envision starting a family might give her the kick up the arse she needs.

It’s going to be quite a shock to the system going from living with parents your entire life (I know she did the stints abroad) to running your own home at 36. Daniel will definitely be left to do most of it she’s tired and done in all the time as it is. Glad for them they’ve done it though priorities would be wrong having the big wedding when you haven’t even got somewhere of your own to live.

Oh definitely, I’d love to see her flourish, I just feel like she hasn’t remotely prepared herself for the real world so it’s going to be a massive shock for them both.

Regardless of whether they were gifted a deposit or not, it’s hard to get a mortgage in todays climate. Interest rates are high and they will have to change their lifestyle moving forward. Not only that but they have to furnish everything. Hopefully this will be the kickstart she needs as they are likely not to have to a disposable income for takeaways and McDonald’s because they can’t be bothered to cook after a long (!) day.
I say this as someone who got my first mortgage in August (luckily before rates when sky high) and although we saved our deposit whilst renting, I’d never say we worked harder than someone who was fortunate enough to live with family whilst they saved. I’m no KLD fan at all but cannot begrudge her the fact she was able to live with Bernie to save.
