I suspect that my opinion is guided by my dislike of the commercialisation of marriage and weddings, but I actually really loved pretty much everything about the wedding (except the groom
). I love that they did their own thing and bucked a lot of ( dated, nonsensical, society enforced) wedding conventions.
I thought that her dress was simple and elegant; I loved the backyard wedding concept; I loved that she looked so joyous.
IMO, it’s in stark contrast to the overblown surprise engagement party that Tobi threw - Kayla looks like a deer in the headlights; uncomfortable and overwhelmed in the videos of that event.
And that Enza stepped in and basically said “leave it to me; I’ve got this” I think is pretty awesome - organising a Wedding is stressful - and the pressure of feeling like you have to try to meet the expectations of family, friends and society, in general, is enormous.,
So - I know that it’s an unpopular opinion here, but bravo to them for just getting on with it, and having a big celebration and party rather than some ridiculously overblown event.
