The Four Agreements is an amazing book to be fair.
I am really angry about the quotes she has shared. That people who get abused by others more than they abuse themselves Jusr walk away... no they bleeping don’t. People that are in emotionally or physically abuive relationships don’t Always feel they can walk away. And to call how we act towards ourself ‘abuse’ is just ridiculous when compared to what abuse actually is. I for one certainly won’t be reading this book. This quote alone has boiled my piss.

She seems to be down a lot, maybe she needs to see her gp and get a referral to talk it out with a professional, before just ploughing ahead with her wedding. She doesn't need to share it with her viewers but sticking her head in Astrology and self help books won't help.

Those shirts tucked into a pair of (finally) well fitting jeans looked great!! All of the dresses were unflattering and badly made.

So, as per usual, Katie's off on Friday. No wonder she was frantically adding swipe-ups, ADs and what-nots yesterday. After such a busy day of work she's probably lying in a dark room with a migraine and no pants.
Alternatively, her and G are off to the pub from about 3pm.
Or, even more likely, she's at A&E again. Poor baby.
I guess we have to wait until Monday to find out.

Me watching the mental health day vlog:

Spoiler, this is just a relaxing day off. That's it. Something that influencers can't do without calling it a mental health day.

Teas, coffee, Chinese takeaway, red wine, muffins.... these stomach issues are a real head scratcher aren't they?

I haven't watched it yet, but diet-wise it just sounds like a normal day in the Snooks-Lentin household 😅

Decided not to watch 'My Mental Health Day' as soon as I saw the title as I knew it would just wind me up... ended up autoplaying after another video so just finished it and, as predicted, I'm absolutely raging.

Call it what it is, Katie (I'm too angry to even call her Kathleen right now).... it's a cliché wanky 'self care' day. That's absolutely fine and I have no issues with her sharing that, but stop using 'mental health' like a bleeping trendy buzzword when mental illness can destroy lives and isn't cured by a bubble bath.

She also uses the term in such a bizarre way: 'mental health for me is grooming my cat'. WHAT? Just stick to what you know.

She's clearly struggling at the moment and I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but speak to a bloody doctor rather than filming yourself crying and giving unqualified advice to the public.

Sorry for the rant!

I just find it extremely sad that she needs to wait for G to go away to be able to relax and do girly stuff. My partner and me have been stuck together the whole pandemic and our place is much smaller than theirs (even a bit smaller than the flat the lived in previously). Thankfully I go out to work but you know, when I am not working, he's always at home because he works from home now  When I am off work, I go for walks or meet friends for coffee, I do things by myself and for myself, because I would go crazy if I didn't. Also, their new place is spacious, and she doesn't have to work every day, she could easily have a Katie day even when G is home.
I think the problem with Katie is that she doesn't do self-care on a daily basis. Self-care is not doing a face mask or drinking wine. It's getting enough sleep, eating well, cutting down drinking if you feel run down (alcohol is a major depressant, duh!), doing a bit of exercise and MOST IMPORTANTLY - GETTING HELP when it all feels too much.
In her recent "Feeling Depressed" vlog (what a great click bait of a title BTW) she mentioned being on antidepressants before. Well, what are you waiting for Katie? Also, she says something along the lines "I know I have everything in life, a good job, a nice new house, fiancé blah blah so shouldn't feel down" - but if she had suffered from depression, she should know it's not that simple. You can have everything one can dream of and still suffer from depression. It's a witch of an illness.
If you're reading here Kathleen, stop being a hun and get help.

Lord above, putting your GALLO MERLOT through a wine purifier is beyond the furthest realms of wanky 😂 that’s my contribution about the vlog.

I was just about to post saying something similar, self care is doing things to prevent yourself from feeling rubbish and stop you from needing a 'mental health day'. Sadly self care has become commercialised and we're told it's all about the 'treat yo'self!' mentality. Self care should be looking after yourself on a daily basis, having a good sleep routine, eating food that's good for you, having a walk, sometimes it means NOT splurging on 'treats' because you can't actually afford to. There's a difference between feeling a bit rubbish and needing some time to paint your nails & watch a film and feeling chronically depressed and not being able to function properly.

I used to work in mental health services and her vlog gives me the same vibes as 'have you had a hot milk and a lavender bath?' when someone is literally suicidal or experiencing psychosis..... it's hard to articulate and I'm sorry if it sounds insensitive but it bothers me that so much of the 'let's talk about mental health' conversation online is around people feeling a bit tit and wallowing on the sofa for a day before going back to their usual indulgent lifestyle of purifying wine, whinging on Instagram and eating carbs all day.

Another thing is that people like Katie and Helen never bother signposting or stressing the importance of talking to your GP. It would take zero effort to say 'if you're worried about your own mental health or think you might be depressed it's so important to speak to the right people, talk to your GP, I'll put some resources in the down bar'. Instead we get 'I feel depressed so I'm going to over indulge on caffeine and takeaway, giggle at my cat and paint my toe nails'. Great.

That's the end of my incoherent TED talk.

What i don't get is, if anti depressants are working and you feel better, why come off them?! They're obviously working!

It gave me a right cackle that

She’s so full of tit and it’s not just from all the crap she eats.
Ouch! Harsh but true tho'!

Some people don't have to be on them all the time and I think some have side effects so it's probably advisable to only take them when you're going through a bad spell. I have a friend who has suffered from depression since teens (now in late 30s) and she's been taking them on and off throughout her life. She also takes advantage of counselling but also not continuously.
(I am happy to be corrected on this, my comment is based on talking to a few friends and a family member who suffered from different forms of depression. Some of them only needed one course of antidepressants, some needed one course and therapy, and some need meds and therapy on and off).

I’m wondering if maybe this wedding and snobbish hipster wank life with G is too much for our delicate east London flower Kathleen. She clearly is very unhappy and miserable and If she doesnt seek professional help soon I can see her abandoning her fiancé at the altar again.

Ugh the weekend roundup.

using GIFTED LICK PAINT when I swear they were in B&Q the other week looking at dulux paints? The sheer audacity of it all…

finally using candles for their intended purpose instead of hoarding them on a random shelf to gather dust…well done Kathleen, progress is progress.

“we got ourselves a tinned rosè to congratulate ourselves for doing duck all”

more piks of the bleeping cat

More healthy eating with pastries & copious amounts of alcohol

the Percival menswear? Is that an ad?

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP KATHLEEN BUILD A FREE GIFTED ‘DREAM’ DESK THAT IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE UNITED STATES AND NOT ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD.

Did anyone else notice Geoff cupping his balls in the video of them being *quirky* in the garden?
