It's just myself, my wife and my wee one here. Neither of us have any family. I quite like it that way...well....i feel sad until about 6pm on xmas day when all my friends starting posting on facebook about what arseholes their parents/siblings are....then I feel smug. xx

I have always felt bad at Christmas. I had loving parents ,so I almost feel a fraud to post this.My Dad died when I was11, complications with MS, and looking back my Mums mental health problems probabaly had kicked in when I was 8. I spent the next 10 years. Pulling the wool over the eyes of neighbours , schools, social services etc.No other family members were interested enough, and to be fair at this point in time and In the location where I lived Social services were overwhelmed.
I spent the next 30 years looking after my Mum,and always envied those who I thought had a normal family life.Especially at Christmas.As Ouroboros put it,l Iwas convinced everyone else living like the Waltons.
Anyhoo.What I wanted to say,is that I have been humbled by many of The stories on here, angry and sad in equal measure.Most of all I would like to say Merry Christmas to the feisty,the determined,those who are coping, and even those who are learning to cope.
And thank you all for making me laugh.
