Police are also not going to arrest someone at the airport for taking their kids away for more than 28 days. If they were involved at all it would be because there's a change the parent was planning to stay in another country with the kids. Police hardly even turn up for emergencies these days.

Totally, some people don't give a shiny shite about 'rules' or court orders and just play and stretch rules. They know the penalty is probably going back to court months later. It's a form of abuse to disrupt the other parent's life.
