Court is back in session after the view. Lally has been freed from his seat at the table he has been glued to since Brennan took over and is questioning the witness.
It was Proctor's car that the clothing was in for 6 weeks so anything is possible, he seemed to have decided Karen did it right off the bat from the texts that came out of the investigation. There was also the weird thing of one of the gift from the Alberts. So I guess that leads onto the forensic evidence that had John’s DNA on the pieces of glass. Proctor didn’t go to the scene until the following day I think, so johns body would have been removed? How could he have gotten pieces of the tail light and managed to get it to touch Johns DNA? And how small shards were found in johns clothing. It would add yet another person to the ‘planting’ tail light evidence. I just don’t buy it. I hadn’t heard he had it in his car for 6 weeks though, that’s crazy.
This is so interesting as it shows how differently things can be interpreted - I thought she was an absolute pain in the a in those million messages/phone calls. I’d hate to be a juror. Those text messages between John and Karen were painful to listen to. John sounds very insecure and as if he liked to play mind games. She definitely came off better in them messages
I didn’t know that they have hired Brennan on nearly a quarter of a million dollars - but it will obviously end up as more than that. Ludicrous waste of money - Lally is supposed to be the prosecutor so does that imply that they haven’t got faith in him being able to get a conviction this time?Court is back in session after the view. That was really weird especially when he said ‘buy something for my wife instead’ - so glad they sacked him but it could open the door to more appeals of other cases he has investigated. It was Proctor's car that the clothing was in for 6 weeks so anything is possible, he seemed to have decided Karen did it right off the bat from the texts that came out of the investigation. To me it seems like the Commonwealth wants a conviction no matter what and Brennan is slimy enough to make that happen.I didn’t know that they have hired Brennan on nearly a quarter of a million dollars - but it will obviously end up as more than that. The ATF agent she was texting is Brian HigginsI'm so glad this thread was set up I'm obsessed. I have gone back and forth on this and I just don't know still. I watch it on court tv and they do a good job on it but Karen was texting another cop flirting with him in the days before this, I'll find his name asap but she isn't squeaky clean.
Sometimes I think she was so drunk she unknowingly knocked him down and didn't realize until later.
Yeah this was Higgins who took his phone to a military base and destroyed it the day before the preservation order came out. He had texted Karen that night with Um Well...or something to that effect and she blew him off. Theory kicking around on Twitter is Higgins had motive because she had ghosted him. They invited John over to Fairview with the intention of a fight and it all went wrong.I'm so glad this thread was set up I'm obsessed. I have gone back and forth on this and I just don't know still. For me it’s like the Lucy Letby case though - either *everyone* else is lying, mistaken, wrong data, incorrect memories, or: the most simple explanation is the answer.I'm so glad this thread was set up I'm obsessed. And based on that, it being the most simple explanation, I think a jury could find her guilty of manslaughter. I don't see how the state is going to prove murder though. I'm interested to hear another run through of his injuries and how much they tally or not with someone reversing into you.For me it’s like the Lucy Letby case though - either *everyone* else is lying, mistaken, wrong data, incorrect memories, or: the most simple explanation is the answer.
Edited to add; and similarly to LL, she admitted it!
Absolutely. I’m not sure of the whole premeditated thing and what constitutes it, but it’s absolutely evident she had a temper on her, and had quick reactions. And based on that, it being the most simple explanation, I think a jury could find her guilty of manslaughter. I hadn’t heard that before - about her phone pinging near Fairview earlier than 0500. I’ll defo. listen out for that is this second trial as I cannot remember it from the first trial.Absolutely. The podcast I listened to also gave another really interesting aspect about it her constant phone calls and texts afterwards - they were escalating in their intensity and abusiveness - almost like she was trying to goad him into replying to her (even though she suspected he was still outside).
Her phone also pinged in the area of Fairview BEFORE she went to pick up the women to go and look for him - why would that be? And how did she then see him out of the car window (when both other women said they couldn’t see a thing) - and he was under 4 inches of snow?
