It was the same doctor I saw last time, when I asked about the bleeding disorder.
He was a bit horrified about the bleeding but at a loss what to do. Didn't want to do anything that might obscure any results from blood tests the haematologist might want to run (he patiently explained that the specialist wanted to see me "because you have a family history" as if that wasn't the reason I'd asked about it!
)
Did ask if I wanted to try hormonal contraception but as
1) i'm not shagging anyone any time soon (see "bleeding for 4 weeks")
2) when I tried the pill before I had a big bleed, and
3) I feel a bit reluctant to mess with my hormones before seeing the gynaecologist,
I said no.
So it's 4 days of consistently taking a high dose of tranexamic acid (rather than occasionally dipping into my limited stash when it gets unbearable) then back to the GP next week if that doesn't sort it (but by then I'll only be a week away from the haematology appointment anyway).
He did have to google whether tranexamic acid should work if I do have the bleeding disorder, which doesn't fill me with confidence.
