Not sure where her family is from originally but they went to l Australia during her teens.
I know this as she mentions it frequently. She was born in S. London. Her parents emigrated to Australia when she was small, as £5 Poms, then moved back here when she was about 10, I think, to Sussex, to the home her mum lives in in Horsham. her childhood bedroom is still there as she often shows and says. She left school early to attend drama school - Rose Bruford- so I would say that’s where she acquired her accent. Her mother’s accent is quite different from hers.I'm curious about her accent. Where did she actually grow up?
Or has she just adopted the affected, luvvie, drama-school parlance?
I didn't hear that, I'm trying to imagine how she could've said it. Listen out for how she says Lady Gaga, as Lady Gugger to rhyme with mugger. Her pronunciation of Lagos....I was howling! She really is a prize chump...
I missed it too. Which Lagos was she talking about? Nigeria or Portugal?I didn't hear that, I'm trying to imagine how she could've said it. Listen out for how she says Lady Gaga, as Lady Gugger to rhyme with mugger.
@Mustard Nigeria, the poor Nigerian lady in the shop had a couple of goes at correcting her but then a) decided the customer is always right b) decided you can’t argue with Stupid.......my moneys on b.....I missed it too. Which Lagos was she talking about? Nigeria or Portugal?
What time was it on? I have to listen to that...@Mustard Nigeria, the poor Nigerian lady in the shop had a couple of goes at correcting her but then a) decided the customer is always right b) decided you can’t argue with Stupid.......my moneys on b.....
It was in an old vlog.....but has stayed fresh in my mind. It’s one where she went to some shop she “loves” that specialises in having periods where they only sell things from specific cultures.......this time it was Nigeria.....she wanted to buy a small straw bag for the price of a race horse..........think that’s why they humoured her.....the comment section was priceless....What time was it on? I have to listen to that...
It’s a vlog called “ my favourite shop in Marylebone”...... pronounces Lagos as Largos......teeth achingly affected...What time was it on? I have to listen to that...
Only a few minutes into Jo's first vlogmas 'Henry is like me one of the most identifiable people in Marylebone' - isn't she modest?

December 2019. I put a link but deleted as it didn't go direct to the article despite using the correct URL It's on www.homesandproperty.co.ukWhen was the Evening Standard article?
She manages to insert herself into a lot of newspaper articles! Article after article come up when you search. Gleam or her other agent? Or maybe it’s her?December 2019. I put a link but deleted as it didn't go direct to the article despite using the correct URL It's on www.homesandproperty.co.uk
I can imagine her thinking she's been recognised by anyone that remotely looks in her direction. It could been her doing, she's not backward in coming forward. She also has her other agent who I think is mentioned on her website. In her latest vlogmas she's lamenting she's never been asked to turn on the Marylebone Christmas lights. The de Walden estate probably don't want to encourage her, some would consider her a local pest, I can imagine her walking down the street waving and calling a cheery greeting to anyone who looked in her direction.
