My friend got a dog with young kids and says she regrets it- she would’ve done it when the kids are older or before they were born. They require so much attention.

The poor dog would most likely get more care in a boarding kennel while they are off on the cruise, the 'house sitter' is likely to be as lazy as them at caring for that beautiful dog.

We live on a huge block as do all of our neighbours. We don't have a dog because I have allergies but all of our neighbours still walk their dogs at least once a day. Walking a dog isn't just for exercise, it's for stimulation. They get to be outside of their own environment, see other people, digs, birds and just have a good sniff around. Even I know that and I don't even own a bloody dog. Mars is chewing because he is bored out of his mind.

Yep, agree with everything here. It doesn't matter how big your yard is, walking them DAILY (especially that breed!!) is just as much for their mental stimulation as it is for their physical health.

My dog died a couple of years ago, we would love to get another one eventually but our youngest is 2yo. We have definitely decided to wait until school age so we know we can provide what the dog needs. She is a selfish and impulsive dipshit.

Why the duck is she locking him in the garage?! And during winter of all times (yes, it's spring now). Get a large crate like a normal person!

And now talking about locking him outside of a night instead? With toads and snakes? Good call jess. Please rehome him.

I’d also be concerned about the dog being around the kids unsupervised (and it’s Jess, neither the dog or kids are ever supervised). Mars is young and untrained and I doubt the kids know how to behave around a dog either. We’ve seen him nipping and playing with the kids. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Even older, perfectly trained dogs can bite and he’s big enough to very easily do a lot of damage unintentionally. My friend’s elderly, very placid golden retriever bit her four year old.

If she is such good friends with harmony why isn’t she embarrassed when she sees the effort they put into training their dogs or the amount of time they put into them?
