I’ve never understood why it’s so much cheaper to buy up north. I live down south and I’ve been to Eastbourne and it’s nothing to write home about. Not like up north with its gorgeous mountains etc.

Now, I am a southerner (don't judge me!!) and I have to say, the UK, the whole of the UK has some amazing places, north, south, east and west. You cannot generalise and say one place is tit!
However, I will leave you with this little gem which I'm sure you will all love... Eastbourne is well known as 'Gods waiting room' I kid you not, seriously. If you go for a day trip there and you are under the age of 70, you will feel like a spring chicken
I did note, that when they went to that 'posh' place to eat when they were at Helens, Jane commented 'ohh this is posh ain't it Charlie? It reminds me of where we live!!!!!!!' Made me laugh at the time because she clearly thinks that she is living the high life! I really hope I wasn't as stupid and naïve when I was her age!!

To be fair, Llansamlet is on a different level to the likes of The Mumbles or down the Gower, which were some of the places Jane visited with Helen. There's no way could you get a 3 bedroom semi detached house in The Mumbles or The Gower for £160,000. Those places, including some places in West Wales too, would cost far more than the £210,000 in Eastbourne. Wales has some of the best views and landscapes in the UK and isn't the primitive place that some seem to think it is. Shock horror, we do have running water and gas and electric and not many of us live in caves anymore lolI’m no way Janes No1 fan! But where has this slagging the North come from or Helens house?? she has made me feel good about my weight loss journey though. because when i looked at how much she now weighs, i noted that she is still above my SW starting weight (and i lost 1/2 a stone before that) so ive lost 3 1/2 stone now and i havent fasted or starved myself one bitI never took it as her slagging the north off either. As an American I know little about areas in the UK but Jane thinking because they live next to a marina and are paying premium rent that it's a posh area is ridiculous. Then she keeps going on about how great renting is because they don't have to fix anything. I have doubts that they could even change a light bulb. Meanwhile Helen and Gav are building equity with their home. I had a look on rightmove and I found a flat that's on the marina. No idea if it's their building but it's probably in the same little area. It rents for 900 pounds per month or over $1,000 when converted to dollars.
