Took us 4 years to find 8.5k for our deposite setbacks due to absence from work due to illness, loss of jobs, car jobs and all that fun stuff
Jane will have thrash out some overtime at tescos if shes wanting to buy within a year.

I cant see them getting a good deal on a mortgage. She works part time and her perfume income is not a given every month. I was in a 6 month probation at my current job and i think we just about scraped through as our mortgage advisor was a bit on the fence when i said i was in a probation period. I am also a credit ghost and had nothing in my name. Its so hard to get a mortgage, we were so stressed

They won’t event take into account the perfume stuff you need 2 years accounts if using self employed intact it might go against them and they will wonder why she only works part time they will see Jane as Charlie’s dependant or whatever the word is they will see she doesn’t earn enough to live if that makes sense so will factor it into Charlie’s wage

It's not just the deposit either, solicitors and moving costs add up too.
Obviously it's not impossible but most people find they have to go without things in order to save such a large amount, they don't usually book a week away because they fancy it if they are seriously saving.

Charlies probably on 25k max so combined thats about 34k a year between them. Max mortage amount they could get is about 150k and they would need at least a 15-20k deposit

Exactly! They don't really earn enough to buy. They might be thinking of shared ownership or some other scheme that's probably available but even so, you've still got to be earning a decent amount these days!
