Not insensitive to me! I was just curious about a change in the lingo
I've spent nearly my entire life being called 'son' or 'Sir'.
I was a 'Tom Boy' growing up.
Then when I came out, a very, very long time ago I was called 'Butch'.
Then I was told I wasn't 'that' any more and was probably 'Non-Binary', which to be perfectly honest, I don't really know what it means.
I'm an older person. Mrs TUIT and I have been together for a long time. Long enough that we have Grand Nephews and Nieces.
And I really, really don't want to cause offence by saying the wrong thing when it comes to the big list of LGBT letters.
I just really enjoy the quick wits and banter you lot have.

I always thought it was odd that in their article together Allegra clearly chose to protect the identity of her daughter by not showing her face however Jack didn't. You'd think they would have had similar values on that.
Allegra doesn’t need to use the kids as part of her personal brand as she’s obviously talented (and privileged enough to be able to pursue those talents), whereas Jack relies on the tragic back story and monetisation of her kid, like the awful IRL clemmie 😂 It is really weird Allegra didn’t say anything though as at that point there were engaged to be married so you’d think Allegra would want her step son to retain his privacy...??

My mum is really really short, short enough that she struggles to find age-appropriate footwear (she misses living in East Asia for that!). So many people comment on it, like they think she doesn't realise? The same way they do when you're sunburned, and there's really no response other than "...yes."

Anyway, she doesn't bring her height up very often, no doubt because she's so sick of everyone else commenting on it for the last few decades!

I feel that, unless Jack's social circle consists mostly of Dutch people, other people don't mention her height all that often. Because it's not that remarkable, is it?
Whilst I was a student, I used to work in a pet shop that stacked a lot of spare stock up above the displays (a bit like supermarkets I guess, but not quite as high.) I used to work with someone who was *obsessed* with the idea of being short. She constantly described herself as 'little' even though she was normal WfH. Anyway, she asked me once to reach up and get something off the shelving as she was 'just too little' to reach it. I was a good two inches shorter than her. I just LOOKED at her because I literally couldn't think of any other response.

I'm not even that short, maybe slightly less than average, but not enough that anyone would look at me and go, that girl's short 🤷‍♀️

Come to think of it, there were a few parallels between this girl and Jack...

ETA: my point is, I think the people who bang on about being short possibly are people who have this weird fantasy about being short? Like if you say it enough times it makes it true? Although why, I cannot fathom.

God can you imagine if she was pregnant? I don’t think I could cope with the various pregnancy ailments which would of course be the worstest that any SINGLE MOTHER had had to endure.
It would be the most difficult and ouchy pregnancy anyone anywhere ever had to endure. Then there would be all the outrageous things that would be said to her, from the entire labour ward chanting "shut your legs" to the threat of being placed in a home for unmarried mothers by a mysterious Dickensian man.

The pay pigs would be selling their organs so the little one didn't have a day in their life where they weren't surrounded by branded goods.

No no no! You are not causing offence and haven’t said the wrong thing!

Old school butch lesbians (I hope you don’t mind me calling you that 🤣) have the right bleeping idea. You can still be butch and be 100% a woman, right?

It’s only in these crazy gender times that we’re now supposed to believe that a masculine woman must be transgender or non-binary but in denial.

Non-binary is meaningless. It just refers to a person so wedded to gender stereotypes, they think being androgynous means they aren’t a proper man or woman and need to call themselves something else. It’s sad.

Anyway @TurnedUpInTipp, carry on being yourself and proudly butch.

NoOooOoooooO this is a friend of mine. She referenced another friend who can cook well. Urgh. She’s one of the most inventive and non bullshitty women I’ve ever met. It’s taking everything in me now to whisper ‘Tattle’ into the wind in the hope she hears it.

Thank you so much for saying that. Honestly, it's so great to hear that.
Yeah, Butch Lesbian has never been an issue for me.
Recently the whole conversation has changed and it feels a little, 'Threatening' is the only word I can think of.
So, I keep my head down and support everyone.

Anyway, back to Jack!

Yeah but then you'd miss out on all these lovely ladies (and gents) top banter 😉

My fella doesn't ask. I just say 'I'm catching up on my website' and don't look at him for half an hour 😂

Think it also helps if you unfollow. Just stay here for the hoots.
Babe, same. Although he does have the tendency once in a while to ask me what Jack has been up to lately 😆

OT, but when I first heard 'butch', around the early 90s, it was said in a derogatory way by straight people, sandwiched between 'big' and 'lesbian'. The polite words were 'sporty' or 'capable', or 'no fear of her' (the male equivalent used to crack me up: 'he was very good to his mother.') It's not a particularly pleasant-sounding word, but now it seems to mean really good tailoring and a sharp haircut, and I could never argue with such fabulousness.

Maybe let people identify how they see fit though? Gender is a construct so unsure what a 'proper man or woman' means...

Threatening is right. It’s sheer misogyny wrapped up in wokeness. But this too shall pass.

I must confess that I have made her soda bread before (in a past life when I was unaware of her misdemeanours & general repugnance). It’s actually alright. I must admit I did add salt to mine and far prefer the addition of some wholemeal flour in my soda bread (because I’m fancy). But, like many of her recipes in A Girl Called Jack, it’s solid and edible. Would give the recipe 5 rinsed beans out of 10.

I think she is absolutely desperate to be featured in the daily mail sidebar of shame or some other rag, just so she can whinge and dine out on how the papers are making up stories and invading her private life, hence why shes tweeting provocative tweets about babies 'for a friend'.

Jack probably needs to realise that the papers arent that bothered about her, aside from throwing her a bone for the odd poverty porn story, she just isnt that relevant anymore.
That will give her a excuse to move to protect her son's privacy even though she has posted pictures of him .Anyone think baby items will "accidentally" feature in pictures soon 🧐

A reply on her soda bread post. Brace yourself squiggle! View attachment 291960
Which is why her poverty cosplay is so dangerous to people on benefits .Talk about poacher turned gamekeeper 😡
