My list of what guest could do to mitigate her actions is quite simple.
1) Shut down the Patreon
2) Apologize. Not an ouchy shoulder/bad mentals/ebil trolls excuse-fest, but acknowledging the impact of her behaviour and taking responsibility for her decision to engage in that behaviour.
3) Full accounting for the Sue Lee funds and paying them back to the donors, or a genuine plan for payback to donors if the funds have been spent elsewhere. (Allegedly) donating the funds to an (alleged) charity doesn't count as payback.

The Greenbelt statement says “she deserves a chance to do better”. FFS - she’s been on the scam for years. YEARS. What about the Kickstarter, for example? The endless begging. The compulsive lying about every damn thing. She’s had more than enough chances to do better. And yet I’ve never heard anything resembling contrition, or even sincerity, from her. She’s not sorry.
Did she sound contrite in that Guardian article? Or did she just sound like it was all a bit of a giggle? After all, she’s been getting away with it for years, aided and abetted by her blue tick mates and sponsors like Trussell Trust and Greenbelt, who never held her to account. Why should she change now?

It seems a bad idea to be fostering when your health is as bad as her mum's is. Especially if they did take on more challenging kids.

No doubt she will be on threads once it’s launchedI agree with all of the above. For me, it’s two main fronts she needs to remedy:
1. Lack of transparency
As someone with a public profile she can’t get away with the absolute nonsense responses she puts out to people’s genuine concerns. She either deems critics as EVIL TROLLS out to get her to cease inhaling oxygen or she gets on her high horse of denial. Those are her two defaults and neither is okay.
There’s no reason whatsoever that she can’t make her Patreon income public, be public about exactly how much she ‘funded’ to sue Lee Anderson and where those funds went, etc. it’s an active choice that she doesn’t and it leads to a massive level of distrust and it gives the people asking questions a very sturdy basis on which to question her.
As someone who constantly screeches about ‘all the good she does’, she doesn’t prove it. Ever. And if you’re in what I’d argue is a charitable position/held as a do-gooder, you have an obligation to be transparent.
2.Inability to apologise or go towards any form of self-improvement
She seems fundamentally incapable of admitting when she’s done wrong, owning up to mistakes and undertaking to fix her ways going forward. She’s lost followers and Patreon supporters because of her own behaviour and you’d think that would make her want to be more contrite and try to make it up to the people who support or have supported her, whether that be financially or otherwise. For someone constantly talking about engaging in the very hard work of a 12-step programme and seeking improvement in that regard, she seems so blind to how she isn’t applying those principles more generally to her life. Not tomyself but I have personal experience of addiction and these programmes and the onus is so strongly placed on you to look inward and recognise in no uncertain terms that you have harmed people through your behaviour and you should seek to make amends where possible and at the very least apologise AND recognise your own impact on others. It’s founded on honesty above all else, yet she is a deeply dishonest and shady person so deep into her own narcissism that she’s so averse to anything that doesn’t paint her as a perfect human being.
I realise none of these things are really tangible steps or a list of things she could tick off, but from my observations these are the sort of general areas that really strike me as problematic and I genuinely do wish she would look inward once in a while instead of projecting everything on to imagined evil forces that don’t exist.
(Also I looked for her on BlueSky but I don’t think she’s there!)

Yep, and John fully admits he may have sub-consciously had Hamish Blair's poem in mind when he wrote it. I wonder if Jack would ever admit to such a thing?

Re: long post about what Jack could do to redeem herself for me - quite simply, get out of public life. Get off telly, stop writing drossy columns re-hashing the poverty stories, stop being platformed as a speaker in any respect. She has zero credibility on any topic and festivals, publishers, bookers and corporates need to acknowledge this.

that was an insult to all who were going through (and still are) a really really crappy time !
and I know cause I was there the day the bombs hit kyiv ! Next weekend my lovely OH (she hasn’t left) has her sister and kids flying into where we are now they haven’t seen each other since just before the invasion !

I could be wrong, but it looks as though the statement was also put out on Twitter as a reply to the squig who’d been vocal about raising concerns re guest at Greenbelt, rather than a specific tweet on its own, which I think is super telling.
They waited to agree a statement with Jack‘s agent (and by extension, Jack herself) AND have posted it quite sneakily as a reply to one person rather than an individual tweet. It just screams PR/damage control/shadiness rather than them being any sort of genuine in their statement, when they know fine well that many people have voiced concern about Jack being platformed at Greenbelt.
And of course the statement itself is a load of insincere bs, the gist of which is ‘yeah she’s done bad things but we don’t care’. Bad bad vibes all round.
