As a kid you don’t even have to be that good at the sport in order to play for your county, and with something as niche as chess (and let’s face it, it’s not really something most kids are into so there’s hardly much competition), the main requirement for ‘playing for the county’ is that you’re actually willing to just turn up lmao.
Same. I was very often the only girl in my age group at the sport I did.

Hang on... didn't she say that, during a recent lights off spell, she didn't see or speak to anyone for weeks? (Sorry for vague recollection)
Where does Check Mate-mate who she's "hung out with almost every day for the last couple of years" fit into this time warp?
“Check Mate-mate” 👏🏻🤣👏🏻

How does hanging out with someone almost every day fit with lights on/lights off? I'm sure she said something about being alone in last weeks huff as there was mithering about where SB was.

ETA she said alone at nights. Still, she spends a lot of time socialising for someone with crippling depression, 12 hours of AA and 100 hours of work every week and a kid.
Don’t forget long yomps with content, plus hours at the grooming cafe

Hang on, I think a wee reality check is needed regarding the county chess player.
This is someone who, as an adult, speaks of winning a book token at school - there’s no way she was playing chess at a competitive level at that age. It’s clearly been, as another frau has said, a school competition, hence the teacher being involved for transport etc.

Much as it turns my stomach to remember, didn't she describe her pumble fumble with Burger Boy as "softly deliciously falling in love with my best friend" or some such guff. And here we have yet another "best friend" of ambiguous status who she just went away with. Jack changes BFFs like a power crazed 12 year old. Also, breadcrumbing much? twit. Keep your private life private idiot

DH played sports and music at city and county level, neither of these things are part of his personality as an adult.

I don't even care if the chess story's true. Fact is, it's just sad when you need to reach that far back to find an accomplishment. Is there literally nothing from the past 2-3 decades that makes her proud? No achievements at all? It's kind of depressing when you peak at 'school book token'.

As per usual she’s being tricksy with her words here, making out she is doing all this for free. She will have been paid by the Big Help Out charity I’m sure, to front the campaign. The charity’s PR guys would have got the story in the paper for free. She likely didn’t get paid by the paper, or to turn up at the volunteer event, but probably got a nice large wedge at the beginning which would have covered all this.
ie; £5k to £10k to write a pov quiche recipe; attend a few events and be available for x amount of interviews.

Trouble is all of her recent achievements are tainted with failure/lies :
TV slots - terrible
Highly paid social media collabs - awful
Latest book - dire
Fundraising work - potentially fraudulent
Campaigning - non-existent

She's been to some award ceremonies, a photo opp and a fancy dinner with Google. Such an intrepid campaigner.

She has to go that far back either find something she's actually done or that no one can prove was a lie/not as she said.

Exactly, it’s absolutely possible that she did play for the county but it means duck all lol, you don’t have to be good if you’re playing at under 14s county level. Also yeah, she definitely has some sort of hang up about her intelligence / academic achievements if she’s still bragging about playing chess as a child 😭😭😭.

Yes, exactly. All her recent 'achievements' are nothing to be proud about and she's too lazy to make an effort to improve.

I know not everyone has a maternal instinct, but you'd think her son would be higher on the list. I mean, she literally made a human and yet it's the book token that brings her a sense of achievement. She's definitely the type who'd be jealous of her kid's success.

Cool story guest

And like duck did she not get paid by the Guardian for that interview. Like duck.
Oh guest and her new/old "pawn star" with their "1am finishes" is giving me the absolute boak.

I bet she played "for the county" in the same way I played recorder for the county in Middle school. I went to the County music festival and did so badly that despite a "all must win prizes" mentality there was no level of certificate for my single figure marks so I was given a piece of A4 with "thank you for taking part and doing your best" written on it.

Hold up. American here, have been fishing on remote lake without cell service. You lot are s'posed to pledge allegiance to Charlie in front of your teevees?
No, we've been "invited" to as a modernisation that feels like turning the clock back somehow. It just makes me laugh - once the nobles would kneel and pledge their lives and service, which had a point in a feudal, militaristic society - and now a whole lot of nans and flag-bedecked middle class people will put their scones down and solemnly pledge allegiance to their tellies. You couldn't make it up.

I’m glad the collabs have dried up. That’s the main source of work for an influencer. She never put in any effort to them anyway. I follow a few people who consistently get these jobs and put the work in every time.
Going to award shows is such a has been activity. Especially when it’s your mates award show. Hilarious.
